I have for sale a good and solid 1975 Mercedes 280 or W114. It has the dual over head cam inline 6 cylinder motor or the M110 ,for Mercedes folks, with an automatic transmission. This car looks great for its age inside and out.

The good:
Motor compression test within normal specs.
Transmission Shifts like silk.
Power Windows all work.
Cruise seems to work but honestly I never use it.
Strong Battery.
Trunk pan solid.
New Tires.
New Vacuum Pump Diaphragm.
Oil Change.
Original Radio (which works)
Spark Plugs.
Spark Plug Wires.
Good Paint.
Solid Floor Pans.
Solid Rockers.
Original owners manual and owners plate.
Interior has minimal wear.
This car has many great things going for it considering its age.

The NOT so bad.

Drivers side front fender got bent slightly due to the tire grabbing it. (My Fault and in picture)
Could use a carburetor rebuild. It works fine but I am unsure when it was rebuilt last. (Solex 4A1)
Gauges work but some are sporadic and inaccurate (gas gauge, temp, and alt.). Speedometer and oil pressure is fine.  All indicator lights in cluster work.
Cables for heater need lubrication to move properly. None are broken.
Blower fan switch was bypassed to a toggle switch but can easily be switched back. Fan works strong.
Antenna motor works but stays on.

The car is only being sold because I desperately need a 4x4.  Trade are always a possibility. looking for something small.

Email with ANY question.

$500 through paypal at auction close.....No exceptions unless arranged with me.
I reserve the right to end the auction at any time due to me having the vehicle for sale or trade locally.

Race Recap: 2013 Japanese Grand Prix flips several scripts [spoilers]

Mon, 14 Oct 2013

Japan's Suzuka circuit is a great track that all the drivers love, but it doesn't usually provide the most thrilling, head-to-head racing. Where it does excel, however, is with surprises and "What just happened there?!" moments, and this year it was no different.
It started with Mark Webber in his Infiniti Red Bull Racing out-qualifying his teammate Sebastian Vettel for the first time this year. They were followed closely by Lewis Hamilton in the first Mercedes-AMG Petronas, the still-solid Romain Grosjean again outdoing teammate Kimi Räikkönen, Felipe Massa racing for another seat in Formula One and putting his Ferrari in fifth, then Nico Rosberg in the second Mercedes, Nico Hülkenberg in the first Sauber, Fernando Alonso in the second Ferrari, and Räikkönen continuing to do himself no favors by qualifying tenth.
For the second year in a row, the lights going out was the cue to start the first corner action...

Mercedes goes boating again with G63 AMG-inspired Cigarette

Wed, 06 Feb 2013

Cigarette Racing has another Mercedes-Benz AMG-themed boat headed out to sea. After The SLS AMG-inspired 46-foot Rough Rider in 2010 and the C63 AMG Black Series-inspired 50-foot Marauder in 2012, this year's Miami Boat Show will introduce the 42-foot Huntress, theme provided by the G63 AMG.
The latest Cigarette homage is less overly racy than the ones before, befitting a watercraft modeled off a performance SUV, but don't let the looks fool: there are five Mercury Racing Verado 350SCi outboard engines, each one of them packing a supercharged inline six-cylinder with, natch, 350 horsepower. Those 1,750 horses will be good for 78 miles per hour when you've got some saltwater underneath you.
If you're in South Florida this week, Booth B-23 at the Miami Convention Center could be your best place to see it. Otherwise, like the 536-hp G63 AMG, it could be hard to catch. There's a press release with more information below.

First official shot of Mercedes S-Class Coupe leaks out

Mon, 10 Feb 2014

With the official debut for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe expected tomorrow, it shouldn't be a surprise that some clicky fingers have already managed to uncover an official image of the car before the unveiling. Outside of this sole image, though, there's precious little detail on the new car.
First posted by Autofilou and then picked up by WorldCarFans, the production S-Class Coupe isn't far off from the concept car we saw a few months back in Frankfurt. Like the concept, the leggy production model appears related, albeit distantly, to the S-Class Sedan. The hood and front fascia are longer and lower, befitting of a two-door, while the character lines in the profile are more pronounced. Obviously, the beltline and slim, B-pillarless greenhouse are coupe-only items. We can't see any details on the back of the car, although it does appear that the long hood has a correspondingly short rear deck.
We'll have all the details on the official replacement for the CL-Class when it makes its full debut tomorrow. Until then, what do you think of this lone image? Does it appear that Mercedes has got it right? In terms of design, where would you rank this with the departing CL-Class? Have your say in Comments.
