THIS LITTLE CAR SPENT ITS ENTIRE LIFE IN PALM SPRINGS UNTIL IT WAS TRADED IN FOR A NEW CAR BY THE ORIGINAL OWNERS TO THE MAN I BOUGHT IT FROM.

THE MOONROOF NEEDS THE TWO RUBBER SEALS,($90) & THE CHROME WITH RUBBER - SEAL BETWEEN FRONT AND REAR SIDE WINDOWS ON PASSENGER SIDE.
THE PASS SIDE REAR SIDE WINDOW ALSO NEEDS THE MECHANISIM ADJUSTED MAKING THE WINDOW SLIP DOWN WHICH IS WHY I HAVE IT DUCT TAPED IN ANTICIPATION OF THE NEW BUYER HAVING THE CAR TRANSPORTED.
I ALSO HAVE THE MOON ROOF DUCT TAPED AFTER A TOTAL IN-OUT-ON-UNDER DETAILING. THE CAR HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT BUT IT HAS HAD A LITTLE TOUCH UP PAINT WORK HERE AND THERE ABOUT 5-7 YEARS AGO I WAS TOLD.
THE DASH CENTER SPEAKER COVER IS WARPED LIKE EVERY ONE OF THESE CARS THAT STILL EXIST. BUT THEY ARE AVAILABLE AS WELL. THE RUBBER SEALS AROUND TRUNK LID, HOOD, DOORS AND WINDOWS ARE ALL EXCELLENT, LIKE NEW WITH EXCEPTION OF THE ONE I'VE ALREADY MENTIONED.

IT DOES HAVE THE FEW MINOR ISSUES I HAVE MENTIONED BUT THIS IS A STRAIGHT, ONE OWNER, WELL CARED FOR 280 COUPE WITH SERVICE RECORDS AND ALL THE BOOKS....EVEN THE ORIGINAL SET OF TOOLS AND ORIGINAL SPARE TIRE PLUS...PROTECT-O-PLATE.
THE ONLY REAL NEGATIVE I HAVE FOUND WITH THIS CAR IS THAT THE FIRST HAD SWAPPED THE FACTORY BECKER RADIO FOR A LATER MODEL KENWOOD STEREO. I DID NOT RECIEVE THE BECKER AT PURCHASE. PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS. I WOULD DRIVE THIS CAR ANYWHERE BUT ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN TO ANY CAR ON A TRIP, EVEN NEW CARS. A BID WAS MADE WHILE I WAS ATTEMPTING TO MAKE THE CHANGE SO THE SYSTEM WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO CHANGE THE TITLE OR REMOVE THE RESERVE SETTING.

Mercedes Concept GLA45 AMG is ready to run
Wed, 20 Nov 2013This is the Mercedes-Benz Concept GLA45 AMG, and what we mean by that is, "This is the Mercedes-Benz GLA45 AMG." Mercedes has just unveiled the liveried 'concept' at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show, giving potential customers a very good look at the newest lunatic in the AMG asylum - a 355-horsepower, 332-pound-foot crossover that uses the same 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine found in the CLA45 AMG and Europe's A45 AMG.
Joined with a seven-speed, AMG Speedshift dual-clutch transmission and an AMG Performance 4Matic all-wheel-drive system, Mercedes promises a sub-five-second run to 60 miles per hour. That's not just quick for a crossover, that's quick full stop.
That sleek, lifted body has also been tweaked by the minds at AMG's Affalterbach facility. A new rear spoiler, side sills and front clip are the primary aerodynamic tweaks. Aesthetically, AMG has fitted the requisite "Turbo" badges, gloss-black accents (including exhaust tips and roof rails) and a set of 21-inch, AMG-spec alloy wheels to round out the overall package. Based on the spy shots we've seen, expect slightly toned down aerodynamics when the GLA45 AMG arrives in showrooms.
UK workers strand car on island of asphalt to keep working
Wed, 06 Feb 2013Generally speaking, when you illegally park your car, you're likely to get ticketed and towed, but there is probably at least one motorist in Scotland who wishes that was the case. After workers had blocked off a portion of the parking lot for the Edinburgh Waverley railway station, the driver of this Mercedes-Benz S-Class reportedly moved some of the barriers to park in one of the empty spots.
Rather than having the vehicle towed, the work crew simply tore up the asphalt around the leaving just the one parking spot intact, and as you can see in the image above (posted to the Twitter account of Harold Norstad), the crew even built a small asphalt ramp so the car could get off its blacktop pedestal. Since this happened last week, there's no word as to whether the car was eventually moved or towed for the resurfacing work to continue.

Man makes record-setting drive across the US in 28 hours, 50 minutes

Whether that's cramming the most hot dogs down your gullet, running a faster mile, or yes, driving across the United States, odds are that there's someone out there wants to eat more, run faster or drive harder. Speaking of that last example, the record for driving from a set location on the east coast, in particular the Red Ball Garage in Manhattan to the Portofino Hotel in Redondo Beach, CA, has been one that has fascinated gearheads since a guy named Cannonball Baker made the trek from New York to LA in 53 hours, 30 minutes, in 1933.
The competition saw its glory days when Car and Driver's Brock Yates came up with the Cannonball Baker Sea-To-Shining Sea Memorial Trophy Dash (more affectionately known as the Cannonball Run), although the record was most recently set by Alex Roy and his 32-hour, seven-minute trek behind the wheel of a BMW M5 in 2006. Now, there's a new champion, who made the trip from east to west in a scarcely imaginable 28 hours and 50 minutes, behind the wheel of a 2004 Mercedes-Benz CL55 AMG. That's works out to an average speed of 98 miles per hour over the course of 2,813.7 miles.
