95 Miata Rat Rod project

Need someone younger than me to finish my Rat Rod project.
Complete mechanical and electrical components from a 95 Miata.

This is a running, driving project with 2"x3"x1/8" wall tubular frame rails connecting stock front and rear Miata suspension. It is so stock that all the components can be unbolted and put back in a Miata body if desired.

There is a start of a body which consists of the floorpan, firewall, steering column mount, etc. which can be unbolted from the frame easily and modified as desired or start from scratch.

Use your imagination, add your own body or make a body from scratch - a Track T type body style or maybe a downsized truck body and bed or make a boattail speedster body. Pictures at the end are some cars I found as potential ideas. The
T type body pictured is definitely built from a Miata.
Wheel base was lengthened 13" by locating the front axle forward of it's original location.

Good running engine, no check engine errors. Doesn't smoke, leak or make funny noises. 5 speed transmission shifts good.
Good brakes. Good factory 15" wheels and tires. Instruments all work.
Factory wiring harness has unnecessary things deleted, like air bag circuitry etc. Wiring for lights still in place.
Otherwise all wiring is stock and works correctly.
Some spare parts including taillights, steering wheel air bag.
Custom exhaust.
The car is really light and quick after loosing about 1000 lbs.

This car was garage kept most of it's life.

Great open wheel fun and 30 mpg.

Clear open Alabama title.

Please call 205-422-8967 for questions.

My sale policy is simple, a $250 deposit is required within 24 hours. If you don't want the car when you come to

pick it up you only forfeit the small deposit to cover my ad expense.

2014 Mazda6: July/August 2013

Thu, 05 Sep 2013

Our newest long-termer - the Soul Red 2014 Mazda6 seen here - arrived in my driveway at the end of June. Without hesitation, I immediately put it to work as a daily driver, carpool bus and family vacation sled, and it accomplished all of those tasks with aplomb. Now, more than 4,000 miles down the road, I am left convinced that Mazda's latest midsize sedan is one of the best in its segment.
During the past 60 days, I have subjected the Mazda6 to scorching travel across Southwestern deserts, wheezing climbs over 8,000-foot-high Sierra Nevada mountain passes and basking in the cool ocean breezes of Malibu. It traveled with four passengers and a full load of luggage from Los Angeles to Lake Tahoe, and it braved the bumper-to-bumper freeway congestion on a weekday trip down to San Diego. It accomplished everything that was asked of while hardly skipping a beat - it has only required a regular sip of unleaded fuel to keep it moving forward.

2009-2013 Mazda6 door latch recall covers 161k cars

Mon, 30 Sep 2013

Mazda is voluntarily recalling 161,400 Mazda6 cars due to door latch mounting screws that may loosen, which could cause a door to open while the vehicle is in motion, thereby increasing the risk of accident or injury. The recall covers 2009 through 2013 Mazda6 models manufactured between February 4, 2008 and August 24, 2012.
The recall is expected to begin by October 18, 2013. Mazda will notify owners, and dealers will provide repairs free of charge. Scroll down for the official recall notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Are you the 2016 Mazda Miata?

Mon, 11 Aug 2014

Tech nerds are spoiled. Every year, there's a new iPhone that arrives following months and months of breathless speculation and rumormongering. We car folk have a more difficult life, because vehicles with the iPhone's cult-like devotion and following, while plentiful, only receive hefty updates after several years. Case in point, the Mazda MX-5.
There's a new one coming, and much like the iPhone 6, it'll arrive in just a few weeks. So, in lockstep with the tech folk, we're anxiously biding our time and waiting with baited breath for the expected debut date of September 3. Also, like Apple fanboys, we're clamoring over any hint or teaser as to what the next-gen Miata will bring, which is why we're showing you the above image.
That is, allegedly, the new MX-5 hiding under the sheet. Auto Motor und Sport has the image, which according to World Car Fans was released by Mazda. Of course, we've reached out to the Zoom-Zoom brand for verification of its authenticity, and will be sure to update as soon as we hear back.
