- First owner, engine well maintained, synthetic Mobile 1, Royal Purple every 3k miles

- Interior - Immaculate.  Although faded, still has the part number stickers from when first bought the vehicle.  Detailed every weekend.   Everything works; A/C, heater, fans,  Bose stereo…etc.  All stock and never modified.  The passenger side auto lock sometimes won't lock when you press the keyless entry.  It will lock manually.  Might be a lose wire somewhere, but haven't checked since its not a big deal for me.

- Exterior – There are a few dings on the passenger side.  I was quoted about $250 to remove the dents via paintless dent removal, but never got around to doing it.  The front and rear lips are removed, but I have them.  The front lip is repainted and needs some buffing in certain areas.  The rear lip is fine, but just removed since I replaced the rear bumper cover.

- Engine – Only 80,000 miles!  Completely stock besides a K&N intake air filter.  This car is from California, so SMOG paperwork is up to date.  You shouldn’t have any problem passing SMOG in the future.   All fluids and filters has been changed on a regular maintenance basis by ME; Redline Transmission oil and WIX fuel filter was just replaced, so you should be good for another 50k miles or so.  OEM Denso spark plugs never been changed, so I might change them or just check them.  I heard these should last 100k miles so I never changed them as everything runs perfectly fine.

- Suspension - Zeal Function X coilovers (Street)  - 6 way adjustable.   I just spent $700 on rebuilding the rear coilovers, so they’re literally brand new since the original parts were rusted and locked together, so I had to buy new piece parts.  THE PICTURE SHOWS WORK NEZART 16 X 7 WHEELS, BUT YOU WILL NOT GET THOSE UNLESS YOU PAY $1,000 EXTRA.  Stock Racing Hart wheels and brand new Toyo tires will come with the car.  I DO NOT have the OEM Bilstein shocks/springs combo.  I have since raised the car and did a full alignment, so the car does not sit as low.  Much more convenient to drive through speed bumps and daily commute.  What I replaced is much better than stock.

I'd like to sell this car w/ everything described, AS IS, but due to the circumstances, I’m willing to hear all offers.  Additional pictures upon request.

Buyer please be responsible for shipping or any type of delivery service AND payment.  I'm currently located in L.A area!

Happy Bidding!

White House clears way for NHTSA to mandate vehicle black boxes

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

At present, over 90 percent of all new vehicles sold in the United States today are equipped with event data recorders, more commonly known as black boxes. If the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gets its way, that already high figure will swell to a full 100 percent in short order.
Such automotive black boxes have been in existence since the 1990s, and all current Ford, General Motors, Mazda and Toyota vehicles are so equipped. NHTSA has been attempting to make these data recorders mandatory for automakers, and according to The Detroit News, the White House Office of Management Budget has just finished reviewing the proposal, clearing the way. Now NHTSA is expected to draft new legislation to make the boxes a requirement.
One problem with current black boxes is that there's no set of standards for automakers to follow when creating what bits of data are recorded, and for how long or in what format it is stored. In other words, one automaker's box is probably not compatible with its competitors.

Mazda hits Vegas with a pair of Sixes

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

Despite the fact that the annual SEMA show is more of an exercise in what "could be" than what "will be," it gives automakers the chance to stretch the legs of some of its most important models. Take the 2014 Mazda6, for example - it's hardly new, having gone on sale early this year - but this year's SEMA expo marks the first time Mazda has been able to show off the customization possibilities for its sleek midsize sedan. To that end, the Japanese automaker has arrived in Las Vegas with two very different takes on its sexy Six.
First up is the Mazda6 Club Sport you see above, wearing a "motorsports-inspired" gray, black and red accent-color scheme that, as Mazda says, is "represented in not-so-subtle angular lines reminiscent of a car speeding past your line of sight." The whole car is done up in a base color of Composite Grey, and uses a Brilliant Black roof to match the similarly colored front, side and rear diffusers, as well as the rear spoiler. Mazda has fitted the Club Sport with Rays 57 Motorsport G07FXX 20-inch wheels, wrapped in Yokohama 245/35R20 tires. Powering the CS is Mazda's 2.2-liter Skyactiv-D diesel four-cylinder engine (that we'll get in the standard Six early next year), and other changes include an H&R spring kit, larger Brembo brakes and a Racing Beat exhaust.
And then there's the Ceramic 6 Concept, pictured right. The name comes from the car's Ceramic White paint, though we don't really get the Taupe Silver accent stripes. Mazda says they're meant to mimic "the linear frequency patterns found on the likes of couture dresses and flowing fabrics," but it just looks a bit overwrought to us. The Mazda6 already has so many clean lines, why add more?

2014 Mazda6 i-Eloop to net 40 mpg hwy, 28 mpg city

Fri, 05 Jul 2013

Even before Mazda unveiled the 2014 Mazda6, it had introduced its innovative, non-hybrid i-Eloop (Intelligent Energy Loop) brake regeneration system. This technology converts kinetic energy into usable electricity using the alternator, a DC/DC converter and a capacitor mounted just behind the front fascia. During deceleration, the alternator captures energy that is then stored in the capacitor, which can later be used to directly power electric devices like climate control and audio systems. When i-Eloop power is used, it reduces the load on the engine and helps to conserve fuel.
Now available on the Mazda6, i-Eloop is only available on the $29,695 Grand Touring trim level as a part of the $2,080 GT Technology Package, meaning that buyers desiring i-Eloop will have to spend at least $31,775 (not including destination). The added price of this technology should be worth it for those looking for optimal fuel economy as the i-Eloop, combined with the package's active grille shutters, will bump the sedan's fuel economy numbers up to 28 miles per gallon city and 40 mpg highway - both are improvements of 2 mpg over the standard Mazda6 Grand Touring. The GT Technology Package also includes a Sport mode, lane departure warning, high beam control, radar cruise control and forward obstruction warning - the latter two technologies are currently offered in a $900 package that is being discontinued.
i-Eloop will eventually be offered on other Mazda products including the 2014 Mazda3. Scroll down for the official press release on the Mazda6's fuel-saving i-Eloop technology.
