I am selling my 1996 Miata. It has been garaged for the last year and I am now parting with it. I purchased the car and drove it from Maryland(an 800 mile trip). It has new Kumho P195/50R15 tires mounted on Panasport lightweight racing wheels. I just blew the cob webs off the car and everything is working. After a few seconds, the oil pressure rises nicely, the clutch works well, no noise from the differential. The car has plenty of pep and no warning lights on the dash. The AC is very cold. The brakes work well and have a slight pulsation when braking hard. The exhaust has that monza sound to it. The garage floor is clean of any leaks and all of the fluid levels look good.
The car was originally a gloss black. I had some rust removed from the area just behind the passenger side door. There were some scratches here and there and I decided to have the car painted speed shop black. I installed a new Alpine CD player with an Ipod input and new Focal 6.5" speakers(the really good ones). Sounds great with the top down and a Jimmy Buffett song playing.
The car is being sold as is with no implied warranty. The high bidder must pay the deposit within 24 hours to Paypal and the balance in cash or certified funds within 7 days. You get the key(s), a bill of sale, and clear title to the car. I will answer your questions as soon as possible and you are welcome to see and inspect the car before the auction ends. Once the sale is over, you own it.

Mazda CEO closes door on talk of RX sports car revival
Mon, 10 Nov 2014Some rumors in the auto industry simply refuse to die. Over the last decade, a few of the strongest have focused on Japan. A few years ago, we could have explained away the constant whispering over a new Toyota Supra, Acura NSX or Mazda RX-7 as nostalgia for Japan's golden era of performance. Today, though is different.
We already have the Nissan GT-R, and, thanks to the Toyota FT-1 Concept, a Supra successor finally appears to be on the way. Acura will someday, allegedly, deliver on its promise to put the NSX on sale. So where does that leave the third member of the Japanese performance trio mentioned above? Well, um, it still isn't happening.
"We don't have that kind of vehicle in our future product plan," Mazda CEO Masamichi Kogai told Automotive News when asked about a successor to the rotary-powered RX line. "If you increase the number of segments, then the resources we can allocate to each will decline and that will prevent us from developing truly good products."

Fri, 12 Jul 2013The Cure For The Common Corolla
I hate the Toyota Corolla. I'm not talking about the new 2014 model; I can't yet judge a car I haven't driven. I'm referring to the current, old-as-dirt sedan. As an appliance, I get why people buy it, but it represents everything that I, as a car enthusiast, dislike. I don't like looking at it, I don't like sitting in it, and I really don't like driving it. There is absolutely no amount of emotion dialed into any part of the Corolla experience and every other vehicle in the segment is a far better choice. But still, somehow, Toyota sells 'em like hotcakes.
Thankfully, there are a lot of people who agree with me. And for folks like us, companies like Mazda exist. This small Japanese automaker places emotion and driver involvement as its top priorities when creating new products, and mostly - especially in recent years - the end results have been great. The new CX-5 crossover is a doll, to say nothing of the rakish and lovely new Mazda6 that launched earlier this year. And let's not forget the Miata...
Toyota, Honda, Nissan and more collaborating to increase fuel efficiency
Sun, 25 May 2014Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Nissan, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Suzuki and Daihatsu have announced an alliance that will see a push to improve fuel economy from both gas-powered and diesel-powered engines by as much as 30 percent before the end of the decade.
The newly assembled Research Association of Automotive Internal Combustion Engines put the roughly $20-million project together, with the Japanese government committing to half the cost while the eight manufacturers will chip in the rest.
According to Automotive News, the automakers will team up and share basic research on internal-combustion engines in a bid to cut costs. Eventually, the results of the research will find its way into a production vehicle, although it's unclear just when we'll see the fruits of this partnership on the road.
