1993 Miata Turbo on 2040-cars
Crestview, Florida, United States
The car has 148K miles on it and I changed the engine because it was leaking oil out of the rear seal and making a noise in the top end. I purchased a engine on Ebay with 66k miles with a turbo already installed on it. The original turbo was bad and the tuneable ECM was bad. So I started over and did it right. The engine has RC injector meant for a 1993 Miata turbo, TD05 turbo is setup for 10 psi and capable up to 25psi). I installed an over size intercooler, intake manifold, adjustable o2 sensor, temperature sensor, Mega squirt PNP gen 2 ECM, high flow fuel pump, and new 2 1/4" exhaust system. The car was dyno and tuned by Adam's Automotive a local hot rodder in Crestview for 10 psi. The seats covers were replaced 2 years ago and I install a new audio system. The convertible rag top is 3 years old and in very good shape. The paint job was done locally and the car need the rear wing repainted (black line are not straight) and I have the orange paint. The car has cold A/C This car is fast and fun to drive |

Mazda Hazumi concept presages next Mazda2
Fri, 21 Feb 2014Looks like Mazda's big Geneva Motor Show debut is actually something quite small. Teased here, the Hazumi concept "points the way to the future" for the brand's subcompact offering, the Mazda2. Details are slim as of this writing, but from what we can see in the image above, the Hazumi will use the same Kodo design language found on the Mazda3, Mazda6 and CX-5. We're big fans of this styling direction, so we fully expect the concept to be quite an attractive little number.
Hazumi means "bound" or "spring up" in Japanese, with Mazda saying this nomenclature is "particularly well-suited to a small car that appears to be bursting with energy." In other words, say goodbye to the friendly faced Mazda2 we've enjoyed since it launched in the United States in 2010. Instead, prepare for something decidedly more assertive, hopefully improving upon the already-great driving dynamics of the current subcompact. If we're honest, we can't wait.
Mazda will also use the Geneva show to debut its new small-displacement, 1.5-liter Skyactiv-D diesel engine. The automaker hasn't confirmed that this new fuel-efficient powerplant will be part of the Hazumi concept package, but considering the two are debuting alongside each other, it would seem to make sense. As for whether or not this engine could come stateside when the next Mazda2 launches, we're not holding our breath for that, especially considering the company's current woes with US-spec diesel engines.
Mazda CX-5 facelift leaks online
Mon, 10 Nov 2014It's only been a couple of years since Mazda introduced its CX-5 crossover, so it's hardly in need of replacement just yet. But to keep it fresh, the Japanese automaker is apparently preparing to roll out a facelift for the compact crossover.
The facelifted model is expected to debut at the LA Auto Show later this month, but before it does, a handful of images - apparently scanned from a brochure - have leaked out online. From what we can see, it looks like the revised CX-5 features a new grille with horizontal bars, LED headlamps derived from those on the new Mazda2, new fog light surrounds, new taillight graphics and, of course, new wheels.
Unfortunately we can't see what's going on inside, but it'd be safe to bet that, along with the revised exterior detailing, Mazda's probably taken the opportunity to update the interior as well.
Are you the 2016 Mazda Miata?
Mon, 11 Aug 2014Tech nerds are spoiled. Every year, there's a new iPhone that arrives following months and months of breathless speculation and rumormongering. We car folk have a more difficult life, because vehicles with the iPhone's cult-like devotion and following, while plentiful, only receive hefty updates after several years. Case in point, the Mazda MX-5.
There's a new one coming, and much like the iPhone 6, it'll arrive in just a few weeks. So, in lockstep with the tech folk, we're anxiously biding our time and waiting with baited breath for the expected debut date of September 3. Also, like Apple fanboys, we're clamoring over any hint or teaser as to what the next-gen Miata will bring, which is why we're showing you the above image.
That is, allegedly, the new MX-5 hiding under the sheet. Auto Motor und Sport has the image, which according to World Car Fans was released by Mazda. Of course, we've reached out to the Zoom-Zoom brand for verification of its authenticity, and will be sure to update as soon as we hear back.
