This is for a 1993 Mazda Miata in great condition. I am only selling it because I am moving to the east coast.  The exterior is painted with K11 smoke grey paint with carbon fiber vinyl hood and trunk. The rims are 15" Trmotorsports with tires in like new condition. The suspension is lowered on Raceland coilovers and the engine is stock, except for a k&n intake filter with Jackson racing exhaust. The interior has custom leather seats with carbon fiber vinyl trims, along with a Nardi NB steering wheel and blutooth cd/usb player. The steering wheel itself still has airbags, but I never hooked up the wires to the existing module so the airbag light is on due to that reason. The gears shift very smoothly because I changed the transmission oil, turett oil, and both of the big and small rubber shift boots. The car has only been filled with 91 gas and mobile 1 full synthetic oil. Rack n pinion, spark plugs and wires, thermostat, waterpump, timing belt were all done at about 125k. The car right now reads 144,xxx and still drives great. I purchased the car 2 1/2 years ago and have put about 20k on the motor.  Some negative points about the car is some very small chips in the paint along some edges, but it is not peeling or anything major.  The driver's side window suddenly stopped rolling down.  I'm sure it's an easy fix, but I just haven't had the time to open up the door panel.  The car has a Clifford alarm system with a pop-up trunk as well.  The headlights are HID with a low profile motor.  The Audi LED strips are connected so that when you signal, each side will turn amber. I never raced or abused the car. I also changed the bulbs on the odometer from the ugly green to blue.  The top is brand new, and the tint is the expensive ceramic heat resistant tint.  I have paid very detailed attention and have babied this car since I got it.  If you are looking for more of a stock Miata with slight minor changes in performance and something that looks amazing and clean, this is the car for you! Feel free to ask any questions.

MotorWeek proves '90s were awesome with Supra, Stealth, RX-7, Corvette, 968, 300ZX comparo

Thu, 24 Jul 2014

Oh, the heady days of 1993, back when the Clinton Presidency was just getting underway, and it seemed like every hot new rock band was coming out of Seattle. Sports cars in the US had finally shaken off the shackles that slowed them during the '70s and '80s, and you could buy any number of legitimately quick vehicles again. MotorWeek recently went digging into its archives to find this six-model test from 1993 showing off some of the best semi-affordable performance coupes that money could buy at the time, and it's priceless.
Featuring the 1994 model year Toyota Supra in twin-turbo guise and MY 1993 versions of the Porsche 968, Nissan 300ZX TT, Mazda RX-7, Dodge Stealth R/T Turbo and Chevrolet Corvette LT-1, MotorWeek definitely covered all of the bases. One thing that might surprise younger readers is these cars' performance. The video only provides 0-60 acceleration times, but several of these vehicles would still be considered pretty potent today - over 20 years since going on sale. The Supra is especially impressive, hitting 60 miles per hour in just 5 seconds. Even today, that's nothing to sneeze at.
Given their performance potential and still-attractive looks, it's amazing that some of these coupes are old enough to drink now. The progress of interior design and safety equipment in the intervening years is pretty shocking, though. In most of these models, having two airbags is touted as a big deal. Scroll down to watch a Throwback Thursday blast from the past about some of the '90s best sports cars.

Masamichi Kogai new Mazda president and CEO

Fri, 10 May 2013

There's some executive rearranging going on in the top suite at Mazda Motor Corporation in Japan, with current CEO Takashi Yamanouchi telling reporters there "I'd like to hand over the work to younger people" now that the company has returned to profitability. Yamanouchi became CEO on November 19, 2008 of an independent Mazda that had to fight for its future in the immediate aftermath of the global financial crisis. What followed was four years of losses before finally getting back to black last year.
Masamichi Kogai (pictured) will be appointed the new president and CEO on June 25, pending approval at the company's annual general shareholders' meeting. Kogai assisted Seita Kanai with the production-efficiency initiative that Mazda called Mono Tsukuri Innovation, which worked to give export-dependent Mazda the best chance at profitability in spite of a rising yen. Kogai, lately in charge of production and purchasing, has been with the company since 1977 and worked in areas from R&D to logistics.
Kanai, who headed the Mono Tsukuri effort and was among the leadership on Skyactiv, will be promoted from executive vice president to vice chairman. Akira Marumoto will become executive VP of Mazda and assistant to new president Kogai. Yamanouchi will remain Chairman of the Board. There's a short press release below to make it official.

Mazda going back to oval grille with next MX-5 Miata

Tue, 18 Feb 2014

The original Mazda MX-5 Miata was distinguished by an oval grille - a design trait that gradually evolved into the smiling cat face on the latest model. But Mazda, according to the latest intel, is planning on returning to that oval grille with the new model in the works.
The revised grille will cap a slightly longer form than models past, while still keeping weight down to a minimum. The stretched wheelbase was reportedly adopted in order to meet the requirements of Alfa Romeo, which is jointly developing the new platform together with Mazda for use on a new roadster of its own.
The new Miata is expected to adopt the 1.5-liter Skyactiv four found in the Mazda3, albeit returned to rev higher and deliver more power and torque, mated to either a six-speed manual or automatic. The Alfa version, meanwhile, is expected to use a 1.4-liter turbo four with a dual-clutch transmission. Sources anticipate the new MX-5 to debut first, possibly at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show a little less than a year from now.
