Mazda: Cx-9 Grand Touring on 2040-cars
Abita Springs, Louisiana, United States
We are selling our 2012 Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring AWD in near mint shape (garaged since new, never seen a car wash!!!) as we have our next vehicle on order. We are the original owerns. The color is Crystal White Pearl Mica. It came with all of the standard options for the Grand Touring in 2012 (20 inch wheels, rain sensing wipers, blind spot monitoring, Xenon headlights, fog lights, heated leather seats with power and memory, homelink - garage door, Advanced Keyless Entry and Start System). Additional options added were the power open/close lift gate, 6cd with display audio package (rear view camera, Bluetooth streaming audio), moonroof/bose package (power moonroof/Sirius Satellite Radio, Bose Audio with CenterPoint, 10 speakers). I have done 85+% of the maintenance on the car myself with full records and the other 15% was done by Paretti Mazda in Metairie. NO one else has ever worked on the vehicle except when new tires were installed at Firestone in Metairie.

Mazda3 celebrates 10 happy years
Tue, 25 Jun 2013Mazda is on the cusp of unveiling an all-new Mazda3, but the compact will mark an important milestone before that happens. The very first Mazda3 rolled off of the assembly line on June 25, 2003. A decade later, the little car has snagged some 136 awards. The first generation sold 2.2 million units over the span of six years, and the second has smiled its way into the hearts of 1.4 million buyers since 2009. Mazda notes the machine even took the honor of being the top-selling passenger car in Australia in 2011 and 2012.
So, what will the future bring? The Japanese automaker is keeping the details to itself for the moment. From the spy photos we've seen, it looks as if the new design will fall under the company's new Kodo design philosophy. That same language brought us the perilously sexy Mazda6, and the new Mazda3 should be no less attractive. You can check out those photos here.
You can also read the full press release on the compact's 10-year anniversary below.
Mazda Hazumi Concept shows up ahead of Geneva
Tue, 25 Feb 2014Last week, Mazda officially teased its Geneva-bound Hazumi concept, showing little more than an aggressive headlamp design. But now, thanks to the magic of the Internet, another rendering of the Hazumi has appeared on the web, and, well, it's totes adorbs.
In Mazda's original release from last week, we were told that the name "Hazumi" means "spring up" or "bound" in Japanese, and is "particularly well-suited to a small car that appears to be bursting with energy." And now that we're getting a nearly full glimpse of the thing, we absolutely have to agree. The company's Kodo design language offers aggressive style in a cute little shape, and the usual raft of concept car-spec treatments (no mirrors, huge wheels, etc.) make it look even more comical and delightful.
Indeed, the Hazumi is understood to preview the next Mazda2 subcompact, and if this concept car points the way forward for Mazda's tiniest hatch, consider us totally geeked. Mazda is also set to debut its new 1.5-liter Skyactiv-D diesel engine at the Geneva Motor Show next week, and while the company hasn't confirmed if that powerplant will make its way into the next Mazda2, it sure makes sense, at least overseas. Stay tuned.
2014 Mazda6: Winter's End Update
Mon, 14 Apr 2014The Winter Without End is seemingly dead. Outside my office windows, my brown and yellow lawn is fully exposed to the increasingly powerful sunshine, the morning birdsong is louder than anything until the garbage trucks start rolling, and I'm seriously considering having the summer tires put back on my personal fleet. That last one is a little scary, as I'm a firm believer in the April Snow Jinx, but you get the idea.
The long-term Mazda6 has also long since left my driveway. Looking back on my notes from the time it was in my charge, however, I see all remarks are dominated by one highlighted section at the top: "worst winter drive of all time." I hardly need the reminder, to be honest. Here's what happened.
When the Mazda showed up at my door, we'd already fitted the thing with its new winter rubber: Bridgestone Blizzaks. Plunking down for dedicated snow tires was a near necessity this year - as it almost always is in Michigan. We didn't see much reprieve from snow-choked, iced over roads here in Ann Arbor, and the knobbier rubber proved invaluable in getting me out of my house time and again.
