MAZDA SUNDOWNER COLLECTORS' B2000 MANUAL 5 SPEED 1983 BOUGHT 1999 - 2000 WITH REBUILT MOTOR, ODOMOTER AT APPROXIMATELY 175,000 CURRENT ODOMETER 178,004.5 MILES NEW EXHAUST SYSTEM, CATALYTIC CONVERTER 2002-2005 TO COMPLY WITH STATE VEHICLE EMISSIONS TESTING LAWS. HYDRAULIC CLUTCH NEEDS TO BE BLED TO BE PERFECT ... CURRENTLY HAVE TO ADD FLUID EVERY FEW DAYS, AND PUMP CLUTCH CONSISTENTLY WHILE DRIVING. TRUCK SAT EVERY WINTER FROM 2000 - 2011, AND STARTED CONSISTENTLY. I AM CONFIDENT THAT NEW BATTERY & WATER PUMP WILL GET IT RUNNING CONSISTENTLY AGAIN. NEW TIRES 2008-2009, BUT TRUCK HAS BEEN SITTING SINCE WATER PUMP WENT OUT AT START IN SUMMER 2011, AFTER REPLACING NEW BATTERY AND RADIATOR OVERFLOW RESERVOIR. NEW TIRES HAVE EXTREMELY LOW MILES, POSSIBLY NEED REPLACED FOR SAFETY. EXTERIOR WAS RED WITH REPLACED SILVER PASSENGER DOOR, AND WAS SPRAY PAINTED BLUE & SILVER 2001-2003 ... Mazda CX-3 crossover coming to LA
Tue, 28 Oct 2014The Mazda booth at this year's Los Angeles Auto Show will showcase some new crossovers. In addition to the refreshed CX-5 that we're expecting, the Japanese automaker has announced plans to unveil its new CX-3 compact crossover.
According to Mazda, the brand's entry into the compact CUV market will feature "the full range of SKYACTIV technology and KODO - Soul of Motion design." We take that to mean lightweight chassis and body architectures along with fuel-sipping gasoline and, perhaps, diesel engines.
The CX-3 will have to take on a slew of upcoming competitors, including the Honda HR-V, Chevrolet Trax and Jeep Renegade, and reports indicate it will share a platform with the Mazda2, which is just starting production in Mexico. We don't yet know if it will be front-wheel drive only or if all-wheel drive will be optional. The CUV is also likely to share the Mazda2's engine, which isn't yet revealed for the North American market. Japan gets the 2 with either a 1.3-liter gasoline engine or a 1.5-liter diesel.
2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata reveal to be livestreamed, feature Duran Duran
Fri, 29 Aug 2014We're all hungry like the wolf to see the unveiling of the next-generation 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata on September 3, but Mazda is seriously excited about taking the sheet of its latest droptop because it has 1980s New Wave act Duran Duran headlining the event. In case you can't make it to Monterey, CA, Tokyo or Barcelona to watch the reveal happen, the brand is also livestreaming it on YouTube starting at 6:00 PM PT (9:00 PM ET). The Miata is then showing its all-new face again during the broadcast of Fashion Rocks on CBS on September 9 at 9:00 PM ET.
Facts about the new MX-5 have remained elusive, but we saw its bare chassis at the 2014 New York show. The roadster was rumored to return to the classic oval grille from the earlier models and also shed a decent amount of weight over the current version, possibly around 300 pounds.
Don't worry about noting the big reveal in your calendars, though. 2014 Mazda6: July/August 2013
Thu, 05 Sep 2013Our newest long-termer - the Soul Red 2014 Mazda6 seen here - arrived in my driveway at the end of June. Without hesitation, I immediately put it to work as a daily driver, carpool bus and family vacation sled, and it accomplished all of those tasks with aplomb. Now, more than 4,000 miles down the road, I am left convinced that Mazda's latest midsize sedan is one of the best in its segment.
During the past 60 days, I have subjected the Mazda6 to scorching travel across Southwestern deserts, wheezing climbs over 8,000-foot-high Sierra Nevada mountain passes and basking in the cool ocean breezes of Malibu. It traveled with four passengers and a full load of luggage from Los Angeles to Lake Tahoe, and it braved the bumper-to-bumper freeway congestion on a weekday trip down to San Diego. It accomplished everything that was asked of while hardly skipping a beat - it has only required a regular sip of unleaded fuel to keep it moving forward.
