Rare 1976 Southern Roadcraft Ferrari Daytona Spyder Replica Kit One Of 105 Made on 2040-cars

Year:1976 Mileage:0
Location:

Stamford, Connecticut, United States

Stamford, Connecticut, United States

Brand new Ferrari Daytona Replica kit. One of only 105 made. These kits were produced in the late 1980?s in the UK and were unusual because they included the frame. This kit has been in warehouse storage since the 1990s and includes a majority of the parts to build an accurate replica. In addition, the body is mounted to the rolling chassis. This is a list of the parts you will need to complete this kit to the best of my knowledge:

  • Jaguar XJ12 sedan donor vehicle for engine and transmission or an engine and trans from and XKE V12.
  • Fuel tank probably from an XJ12 or XJ6 (I believe I have the sending units)
  • Convertible top and frame. The top frame is likely off an existing British roadster.

The vehicle would be rather impressive with six downdraft Weber Carbs installed on the V12 motor. This conversion is recommend. The second choice is to install a Chevy 350 crate built motor. At one point, John’s Cars (I believe) in Texas offered conversion kits to install Chevy motors and transmissions in Jaguar V12 vehicles. The same kit, if still available, could be used in this vehicle. What is included with the kit.

What is included:

  •  Assembled factory chassis with front and rear suspension installed
  • Steering rack installed, steering column installed
  • All road springs front and rear installed
  • Alloy wheels and tires
  • Differential installed
  • Body installed
  • Doors, fenders, hood and deck lid
  • Glass and all guts for doors
  • All electrical components, i.e. lights switches, gauges, etc. included exclusive of the engine (all relays, a wire harness, complete interior, carpeting, inner and outer door handles, stainless steel exhaust system and windshield.)

These parts are all brand new as is the car body, chassis, suspension etc. The vehicle is currently in warehouse storage with layers of dust sitting from the 1990?s. I will post a picture shortly. The vehicle can only be seen on weekends. If you are overseas we can help with transport to the New Jersey docks. Please note there is no title to this vehicle as it is a kit and you would probably use the Jaguar donor car title or register as a a Replica kit in most states. Again this is 1 of 105 made and not the common Corvette Replica kit. This has its own Chassis. Ferrari sued most of these kit car companies to stop production so production was discontinued by most if not all the replica manufacturers. The expense to produce this kit today would be immense and costly. This is an opportunity to build a great replica of a Daytona Ferrari

100th Anniversary Maserati Ghibli stars in the 2014 Neiman Marcus catalog

Thu, 09 Oct 2014

Each year, retailer Neiman Marcus releases a Christmas catalog detailing some truly absurd gifts. Chief among them is a Neiman Marcus edition car. Usually from a luxury or exotic manufacturer, the Neiman Marcus models are a limited edition and generally sell out very quickly. Past participants have included the Aston Martin Vanquish Volante, McLaren MP4-12C Spider, Ferrari FF and, the most plebian car in recent memory, the Chevrolet Camaro Convertible. For this year's catalog, the Maserati Ghibli is up for purchase.
Not only will it make a great Christmas gift for the ultra wealthy, but this $95,000 Maser also pays tribute to the Italian automaker's 100th anniversary. Based on the top-of-the-line S Q4 model, this Ghibli adds a few unique features, including bespoke 20-inch wheels with centennial center caps and a black border for the grille.
The cabin features premium leather in Cuoiu, which is basically tan. Black contrast stitching can be found throughout the cabin and on the Tridents stitched into the headrests, while bespoke piano black trim rounds out the interior. Finally, the center console bears a badge denoting the Ghibli's unique edition number.

Leno profiles Pebble Beach-winning 1956 Maserati

Tue, 26 Nov 2013

We enjoy it when Jay Leno and his web show, Jay Leno's Garage, take a look at new, modern cars. When the comedian gets his paws on a proper classic, though, he's at his best. Leno is able to display an impressive breadth of knowledge about even obscure models, and that's no different here, as the winner of its class at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, a 1956 Maserati A6G-2000 Allemano rolls into the garage.
Part of the Maserati A6 family, this A6G is one of just 21 cars produced with coachwork by Carrozzeria Allemano, making it one of the rarer cars to grace Jay Leno's Garage. It's powered by a 2.0-liter inline-six, and, as Leno points out, is far more of a road car than the race-oriented Maseratis of the day.
Scroll down for the latest episode from Jay Leno's Garage on this fully restored 1956 Maserati.

Little Red Racing Car Kickstarter project a father/son affair [w/video]

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

Tales of fathers and sons, whether told for adults or for children, never go out of style. It's appropriate then that The Little Red Racing Car, a story about a father and son finding and restoring a 1955 Maserati 300S, is such a stylish piece of work.
Author Dwight Knowlton first started working on The Little Red Racing Car when, after his son was born, he "went looking for the perfect Father/Son/Car book" and couldn't find one. Knowlton's artwork in has been influenced heavily by vintage automotive advertising and Grand Prix posters, and has a very clean, art deco vibe as a result.
Of course, TLRRC is still just a work in progress. Knowlton is hoping the Kickstarter community will help to get the ball rolling, and raise $25,000 to the book printed and distributed. The author even has a stretch goal to have the whole shebang made into and animated film - we love big dreams. Follow on below to hear Knowlton's pitch in his own words, or jump over to his Kickstarter page to look further or buy-in.
