1964 Maserati Other on 2040-cars
Oakland, California, United States
Feel free to ask me any questions about the car : jeffereyjrriviere@ipswichfans.com .
Offered here for sale is a wonderful find. Mostly original black lacquer paint very late 3500 GTI Touring bodied
coupe. Full documentation from the Maserati Factory stipulating the matching numbers, colors, and equipment as this
car left the factory. Living almost entirely in the San Francisco area it is a rare and unique find. The car is
complete and runs and drives well; recently tuned service and brought back to driver quality. Elegant and sporty
and climbing in value. If you are reading this you already know the long pedigree and racing history of the 100
plus year old company that is Maserati. This is one of the very last eight 3500GTIs built before the company
brought out the Sebring series 1 and the new Mistral slightly later. It overlapped the Sebring limited production
and shared the same chassis and mechanicals. The later 3500GTI had Lucas fuel injection and this has long been
swapped out for the more reliable triple Weber carbs. I has the original ZF 5 speed trans and four wheel power
assist disc brakes and the Borrani road wheels. Restored examples sell for much higher figures and this is an
opportunity to collect a beautiful , drivable classic Maserati GT for a reasonable cost. Drive now and restore
later or enjoy the aged&patena. If you are a serious buyer and have specific questions about this car I can be
reached at 805.895.1226 Martin. I collect and professionally restore these cars and can assist the new owner as
required.

Maserati bringing new sports car concept to Geneva?
Tue, 25 Feb 2014Maserati is in the midst of a major product overhaul. The Quattroporte was recently redone, the Ghibli is a fresh new model and the Levante crossover is still in the pipeline. But what about its two-door line? Surely Maserati hasn't forgotten about those, right?
Not according to the latest gossip, it hasn't. Word has it that in celebration of its centenary this year, the Trident marque is preparing a new sports car concept to unveil at the Geneva Motor Show. Apparently smaller than the aging GranTurismo, the new concept is said to take aim at the Jaguar F-Type - not to mention the Porsche 911.
According to GTSpirit, the concept could pack the Modenese automaker's new twin-turbo V6 or V8 engines, but no matter how many cylinders, it's understood we're likely looking at a front-engine/rear-drive layout and an automatic transmission.
Ram/Jeep Ecodiesel engine has Maserati roots
Sun, 16 Mar 2014The 3.0L turbodiesel V6 in the 2014 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel earned a slot on Ward's Automotive 2014 10 Best Engines for its power, fuel economy and refinement. In a piece looking at how Fiat subsidiary VM Motor developed the engine, Ward's also makes note of the fact that the same lump goes in diesel versions of the Maserati Quattroporte and Ghibli. They're tuned a bit differently, naturally, with the QP putting out 275 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque, the smaller, lighter Ghibli making do with the same number of horses but a lower torque output of 420 lb-ft.
The 240 horsepower and 420 pound-feet put out by the oil-burning six-cylinder in the Ram was tamed with a host of advances, but it appears that Ram hasn't tamed demand: the initial allocation of 8,000 engines was spoken for within three days of the truck going on sale. Head over to Ward's to read the story of how Ram worked out the equation light-duty-pickup + diesel = success.
Maserati offers peek into Alfieri concept's design
Mon, 24 Mar 2014This year marks Maserati's hundredth anniversary, which means we'll be spending the rest of 2014 talking about all the company's planned celebrations. The Alfieri Concept, shown at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, though, is quite possibly the most noteworthy part of the brand's centennial.
Named after one of the company's founder, Alfieri Maserati, the coupe is a striking piece of design, although it did manage to fall short of earning a spot on our editors' choice list for the Geneva show (we blame this more on the number of exciting products at the show rather than any shortcoming of the showcar).
In this video, Maserati Centro Stile designers take us through the process of penning the Alfieri, from the car it was inspired by, on to the actual process of designing the car. Fans of automotive design won't want to miss this video. Take a look below.
