I am selling my 06 Lotus Exige with 20,871 miles as of today. Car is finished in Solar Yellow.

Options and extras include Lotus Track Pack, Traction Control, Lotus Sport ECU, Lotus Stage II exhaust, Personal F1 Alcantara steering wheel & quick-release hub kit, Pagid Brake Pads, Sector 111 lightweight battery kit & mount, Schroth 5-Point harness, Sector 111 Roll Bar, Sector 111 fire extinguisher, Sector 111 front & rear tow hooks, Mesh Grille set, back-up camera wired to JCV Kameleon Head Unit, Prem. Audio Pack, and Factory Starshield. Car has new Yokohama AO48 LTS tyres (in last 1,000 miles) along with a full service.

Have extensive receipts since vehicle production. Car was originally sold in Michigan at Auto Europe. Afterwards it lived in Mankato, Minnesota--where I found it. The car was in for service with the original owner, parked up to a wall, and was backed into by a porter. Both front and rear clams had cracked. Cost of labour to replace both fiberglass clams was huge. As a result it received a salvaged title. However, both front and rear clams and components latch to them were replaced at Auto Europe with new factory painted Lotus clams. It was a bodywork issue exclusively; the aluminum was unaffected. I have all receipts. The car is essentially new underneath with such low mileage. Mechanically it is beautiful. Drives perfectly and has never given me an issue. This is the ultimate canyon car.

Buyer is responsible for shipping arrangements. Car is in Pasadena, CA (I'm from ND originally if you're wondering about the plates). A $500 deposit is due 24 hours after the auction's close. Contact me if you have any questions. Happy to send pictures of anything else you might want. Thanks and best of luck bidding!

Lotus suing former CEO Bahar over spending on homes, helicopters and watches

Mon, 03 Dec 2012

More details have come out about the legal suit and countersuit being contested between Lotus cars owner DRB-Hicom and former CEO of Lotus Dany Bahar. Bahar was brought in by Malaysian car company Proton in 2009 to turn Lotus around, and events during his tenure have made just about everyone wonder "What's going on?" That's not unusual - it can take a minute to figure things out when a new leader takes everything in a new direction - but in this case the clouds didn't clear quickly enough.
When the Malaysian government sold Proton to Malaysian auto supplier DRB-Hicom earlier this year, a forensic accounting team from Ernst & Young and The Rothschild Group started going over the books. Not long after, Bahar was suspended in June from his position and then fired. In his countersuit against DRB-Hicom, claims of lavish spending began to surface. Then the stories and leaks and rumors really began, the UK's Financial Mail reporting on more than one million pounds spent on private flights and home renovations, the New Zealand Herald talking about other executives sacked so that DRB could rearrange a 270-million-pound bank loan to Lotus, and rumors on forums about Bahar flying from his home in Norfolk to Hethel HQ and spending 30,000 pounds on motorsports books for his office.
In the latest Bloomberg report it is said that DRB-Hicom seeks 2.5 million pounds ($4 million US) from Bahar "for unauthorized expenses and overpaid salary and bonuses," including the purported expense of 3,000 pounds on watches for company managers. DRB-Hicom also says Bahar made damaging statements to the media, on top of breaching his contractual duties. Bahar's countersuit seeks $10.6 million from DRB-Hicom.

Lotus hands Pastor Maldonado a new Evora S in Monaco

Sat, 31 May 2014

Being a Formula One driver has its privileges. First off, you get to drive F1 cars for a living. You get treated like royalty and fly around the world. And if you're lucky, you might get a supercar thrown at you once in a while. It all depends on which team you drive for.
Fernando Alonso, for example, has had countless Ferraris, Maseratis, Abarths and Jeeps thrown his way. Lewis Hamilton was a little disappointed not to get the keys to that rare McLaren F1 LM when he won the championship. But Pastor Maldonado just got his hands on a new Lotus Evora S.
Pastor who now, you ask? Pastor Maldonado. The first Venezuelan driver in F1, Maldonado won the GP2 title in 2010 then made the jump to F1, driving for Williams for the past three seasons, impressively winning the Spanish Grand Prix in 2012. Now he's at Lotus filling Kimi Raikkonen's seat, and took delivery of his white Evora - complete with 3.5-liter supercharged V6 and six-speed sequential gearbox - in Monte Carlo last weekend during the Monaco Grand Prix.

Race Recap: For the 2013 Monaco Grand Prix, NASCAR comes to the principality

Tue, 28 May 2013

Lots of contact, debris cautions, trips into the wall, full-course yellows and a red flag - these are the kinds of racing terms you unbox when you want to have a conversation about NASCAR... or the Formula One grand prix of Monaco. In this case we're not talking about the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte, we're talking about 78 laps in the South of France that even featured a fallen camera cable just like that stock-car race.
This year, Mercedes-AMG Petronas drivers treated their chassis' like busses instead of F1 cars, Romain Grosjean treated his Lotus like a battering ram, Sergio Perez kept sticking his McLaren's nose in places and eventually got it smacked, and maybe the size of the drivers' mirrors should be changed instead of the tires as there were almost as many firsts as there were crashes. Plenty of F1 fans wish Monaco were removed from the calendar, yet even though it doesn't specialize in traditional thrills, that doesn't mean nothing happens during the parade through - and into - the barriers.
