2005 Lotus Elise Convertible, Beautiful Car - No Reserve Auction!!!! on 2040-cars

Year:2005 Mileage:40360
Location:

Phoenix, Arizona, United States

Phoenix, Arizona, United States

I'm selling my 2005 Lotus Elise. It is red with tan leather interior and a black soft top. It has power door locks and windows. This is a beautiful car that gets compliments everywhere I go, and it is extremely fast. But now that we have our third child, it just does not get driven enough to warrant me keeping it.

Note that this Elise does have a restored title. I do not have much info on the accident as it was 2 owners ago. The only thing I was told is that it was hit on the driver's side clamshell, but it was professionally repaired and passed inspection to get the Restored Title. The car looks and drives great. I have had it for a year and a half with no issues. The only thing I had done was to replace an Oxygen sensor that went bad about a year ago. The car drives great, looks great, and runs great. There are a few small rock chips near the bottom of the front and rear fascia (from normal driving) so it's nothing that you would't see on any other 2005 Elise. They are not noticeable unless you are a few feet away from the car and trying to look for them. The rear tires have approximately 80% tread on them and the front tires have approximately 90% tread on them (see photos).

Please do not bid unless you have cash or unless you already have financing in place. Since it is a restored title some credit unions will not provide financing, but most larger banks usually will... of course that is also dependent on your credit score. Since this is a Restored title it can be registered in any state (it is Salvaged titles that cannot be registered until the vehicle is repaired, passes inspection, and then is granted a Restored title).

I require a $1,000 deposit within 48hrs of auction ending and full payment withing 7 days. I will help the best I can with any pickup/shipping arrangements that you want. I am located in the Southeast Phoenix area. If you are from out of town, I am willing to pick you up from Sky Harbor Airport. I can also help with setting up shipping if you decide to go that route.

Please feel free to call me if you have any questions at all or would like additional pictures of anything.

Thanks,
Mike

Lotus offers Exige S Roadster for sale, but not in North America

Thu, 23 May 2013

The first thing you need to know is that this is the Lotus Exige S Roadster, unchanged from the Exige S even in price and officially the fastest convertible Lotus has ever made. The second thing you need to know is that if you live in the US, you won't be getting this car.
Now that that's out of the way, the lack of a roof, rear wing and front splitter help make it 22 pounds lighter than the coupe, coming in a 2,565 pounds, and the supercharged 3.5-liter V6 in this topless blossom discharges 345 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. For historical comparison with a non-convertible, those numbers nearly match the 2004 Lotus Esprit V8 Final Run edition - which had twin Garrett turbochargers. Yet the Exige S gets from a stoplight to 60 miles per hour in 3.8 seconds, nearly a full second quicker than that Esprit. Fair play, though, the Esprit did weigh 3,040 pounds.
It will be fitted with a six-speed manual only, and cost 52,900 pounds ($79,667 US), 55,378 euros ($71,404 US) or 8,500,000 yen ($82,078 US), depending on where you live. Here in the US we'll be sticking with the track-only Exige V6 Cup and Cup R models. The press release below offers more on the fine points.

Kimi Raikkonen moving to Ferrari?

Wed, 14 Aug 2013

Kimi Raikkonen, easily one of our favorite current drivers in Formula 1, may be making a move from Lotus to Ferrari, according to a Finnish tabloid called Ilta-Sanomat. Raikkonen, who won the driver's championship in 2007 with the Italian brand, is in high demand and is also rumored to have options on the table from Red Bull and his current team.
Of course, a move by Kimi to Ferrari means at least one of the Maranello-based outfit would need to find another ride. Driving ace Fernando Alonso has publicly voiced his displeasure with the Ferrari chassis, and rumors have the Spaniard considering a move to Red Bull to replace Mark Webber. Buckle up, folks, this Silly Season is shaping up to be bumpy...

Lotus opens the 2013 Formula One season with the launch of the E21 [w/video]

Wed, 30 Jan 2013

Lotus has broken the seal on the 2013 Formula One season, launching the E21 car at its factory in Enstone. With the regulations this year quite similar to those of last year, there are no dramatic changes in form compared to the E20. After some teams lobbied to be able to cover the stepped nose with a "vanity panel," Lotus retained the configuration, the team's technical director saying that the panel would add more weight and didn't make sense to put on the car unless it also added performance.
Beyond that, the E21 is said to be an comprehensive advance in its details - the suspension gets a new layout, the Coanda exhaust and the passive double DRS system are evolutions from last year, the front wing is "a continuation of concepts" from 2009.
After securing fourth in the Constructor's Championship last year, this is the chassis that drivers Kimi Räikkönen and Romain Grosjean will use to try and move the team up a place, which would mean beating one of the big three teams over the course of the season. The quietly and impressively consistent Räikkönen managed third in the Driver's Championship, and we're sure he wouldn't mind a move up in the standings, either.
