You are bidding on a 2005 Lotus Elise with optional Hard Top and Touring package. Starlight Black metallic paint and red leather interior. I am the original owner. I purchased the car new new in the spring of 2005 from Star Motor Cars in Houston TX. The car currently has only 1162 miles. That is not a mistype, 1162 miles. The car is as new as when I picked it up. Always garaged and covered, sparingly driven. 500 mile break in period followed and 1000 mile service performed. The car has never been damaged in any way and not modified in any way, it is completely original as when it left the factory. Even though the car has spent most of its time undriven, I have maintained it by driving and running at appropriate intervals. A custom flannel California Car Cover is included with the sale. I have all documentation, original manuals, window sticker, service records, both sets of keys, etc. I doubt you will find a nicer original example and certainly not a lower mileage one for this first year of production and importation into the US.

Lotus C-01 motorcycle rumored to get 200-hp V-twin engine

Sun, 12 Jan 2014

Back in June, Lotus announced it was getting into the motorcycle business. Or, we should say, Kodewa and the Holzer Group are getting into the motorcycle business, and have acquired the rights to use the Lotus name. One way or another, we're now receiving word on some of the specs we can expect from the prototype dubbed C-01.
The Lotus motorcycle is being designed by Daniel Simon, the automotive futurist who has penned, among other things, the light-cycles for Tron: Legacy and the livery on the LMP2 racer Kodewa also fields under the Lotus name. So you know it's going to look pretty awesome, but what will make it go?
According to Visor Down, the C-01 is being tested with a V-twin engine sourced from an undisclosed supplier that produces 170 horsepower in stock trim but has been tuned to produce nearly 200 hp in Lotus trim. A pair of prototypes - one with carbon-fiber bodywork and one without - have already undergone several thousand kilometers of testing, and are said to be handling "very well."

Former CEO Bahar files $10.6M suit against Lotus

Mon, 27 Aug 2012

File this one under "not surprising in the least." Fired Lotus CEO Dany Bahar is reportedly suing his former employers for some $10.6 million, claiming that the automaker and its Malaysian owner, DRB, broke the law when they dismissed him. According to a report by Bloomberg Businessweek, DRB and Lotus will defend themselves in court rather than settling, including filing a countersuit against the former top executive.
Bahar, 40, was canned on June 7, about two weeks after Lotus suspended him pending an investigation into his conduct. The report cites a Kuala Lumpur stock exchange filing as its source of the information; the filing also indicates that DRB has decided against selling Lotus, despite continuing losses.

Coca-Cola returning to F1 with Lotus sponsorship [w/videos]

Sat, 24 Nov 2012

Even before Red Bull Racing became a record-breaking three-time Constructor's Champion in Formula One, it has dominated conversations both as a team and as an energy drink. After seven years of "Red Bull this" and "Red Bull that," Coca-Cola is reportedly ready to jump into the F1 fray with its Sweden-based energy drink Burn.
Rumors had placed Coca-Cola's entry with McLaren F1, but it's actually Lotus that has secured the deal. We have no idea what the sponsorship will look like, but the website for Burn says that "We [intend] to foster that creativity by incorporating art and music in a way that will break the conventions of traditional F1 sponsorship," Lotus F1 team principal Eric Boullier adding "We are excited to partner with burn to build a new and innovative model for sponsorships that will combine experiences, content creation and social media..."
Since most - including this writer - have no idea what Burn is, we've included a couple of Burn commercial spots to help get us up to speed, which you'll find below. The 2012 season hasn't even ended, and we're already looking forward to 2013...
