????????????????????????????????????????? Hello, Up for sale is my Lincoln Towncar I have owned this car for about ten years and have done a lot of up keep on it. This is not my only car, I bought this towncar because of the low mileage and it was garaged kept. I no longer have a garage space for it and the weather is beginning to show it's wear. I selling this because I have other "projects" that need to be addressed. I will be selling this with "No Reserve". This car runs strong, and is in really good cond. 5.0 with less than 77k original miles. I bought this in 2005 and it had just over 63k. on it. In 2005 I replaced all brakes, exhaust, shocks, etc... In 2010 I bought four new tires. This car is nowhere near perfect, it has it's flaws, but all in all this is a great car. Again I'm not in any kind of bind and I don't have to sell it. I feel that this is a fair price that I am asking for the car and condition. A small deposit through paypal or in person is required after the sale and full payment in cash only before it leaves my drive. Trades are considered. If after you get here and the car is not what you thought it would be, I will not hold your deposit and I will not give you a neg. feed back. The car is no where near perfect but for the year and the mileage this is a great car to cruise around town in and just have fun. I drive this as a second car every now and then. I wouldn't hesitate to drive this long distances, it is very dependable. The price that I'm asking I believe to be a fair price, after all I would not be able to replace it for this price. Ford recalling 370,000 Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Town Car models
Fri, 30 Aug 2013The Detroit News is reporting that Ford will recall some 370,000 Crown Victoria (pictured), Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car vehicles from model years 2005 through 2011, for an issue regarding the lower intermediate steering shaft. 355,000 of the vehicles in question were sold in the US, with the other 15,000 sold in Canada.
The report indicates that corrosion of the lower intermediate steering shaft could cause a "loss of steering," presumably because of a partial or complete failure of the part. The report points out the dealers will inspect and replace the offending steering component for recalled cars, and may also secure a lower steering column bearing and replace the upper intermediate steering shaft as needed. The company is unaware of any reports of the faulty part causing any accidents or injuries.
Ford helpfully lists states in which corrosion is more likely to have taken place, mostly in the Snow Belt, as you might guess. Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia are listed.
