1978 Lincoln Mark V. 2-owner 100% original, rust free survivor.

32,105 original miles. Fresh rebuild on the entire AC system which was not cold as it had been driven little in the last

Few years. Around 1000 exercise miles per year to keep up on maintenance. Un-believable find this original and clean.

Garaged and covered when not in use. Has soft cover for storing.  Very cool

Sea-mist green with white leather interior and vinyl top.  Mint, perfect.  Everything on this car is as it came in 1978. the miles are correct and has no negatives at all. Everything on this car works. The clock keeps perfect time and the factory CB radio and 8-track tape player works perfect. Even comes with some great old tapes!! I bought this car from the original owners. The husband was starting to go blind and the wife didn't want to drive it because of its size. These cars are around, but usually have something that's not quite right. This car is immaculate in every way. Tires are 100% as is the interior and top. Has had custom wheels on her since delivered at the dealership. But I have the originals. The old boat drives like a giant marsh mellow down the road!! Extremely rare color and is beautiful in person. please call or email any questions you might have. will consider ending the auction for a good and fare offer, but no lowballs or insulting offers. This is not a fire sale. Now in storage for the winter. I am selling off some of the car collection due to some health issues as I can no longer take care of them. Check my feedback. Will help any way I can to get her shipped and or picked up.  Will also store a reasonable time for pick up at no charge. Call William 1-406-861-8388 Before 9PM MST

Farley says Lincoln learnings in China could influence brand in US

Tue, 14 May 2013

Automotive News reports Lincoln is looking to Chinese luxury shoppers for customer service ideas. Those notions may eventually make their way back to the US in the form of new dealership training. Jim Farley, the executive vice president of global marketing for Ford, tells Automotive News, "In many ways, China will be a listening post for Lincoln in the United States. Soon China will be the largest luxury market in the world." Farley also said that in China, the Lincoln brand is currently where Lexus was when the Japanese brand first landed in the US.
Lincoln is slated to open its first Chinese dealerships in 2014. The brand is largely unknown in Asia, and Lincoln representatives have been visiting other luxury dealers in China for an idea of what buyers there expect. Lincoln has also studied non-automotive luxury shopping, paying special attention to high-end retail branding.
Of course, this whole song and dance feels awfully familiar. Lincoln has focused heavily on remaking the brand and recrafting its marketing here in the States, thus far without sufficient product to back the play. Lincoln is already late to the China game, and without the necessary products to lure buyers away from established bodies like Buick and Cadillac, Lincoln may be doomed to repeat its fate here in the US.

Ford issues four recalls covering 163k vehicles

Tue, 19 Aug 2014

Recalls! 2014 will be forever remembered as the year that automakers went recall crazy, with millions and millions of vehicles adding up to crush previous recall records well before the end of the year. Adding to that tally is Ford, which announced a call-back for 163,000 vehicles.
Leading that charge are the 2.0-liter, EcoBoost four-cylinder engines of the Ford Focus ST and Ford Escape. 160,000 of the 2013 and 2014 models have bad wiring harnesses that can disrupt the signals traveling to the powertrain control module. That, in turn, could lead to a check engine light, reduced power and stalling. Notably, Ford hasn't recalled any other vehicles that feature the 2.0 EcoBoost, such as the Fusion, Taurus or Explorer.
While the Focus ST and Escape constitute the vast majority of recalled vehicles, they aren't the only problem children in the Ford family. 1,300 Transit passenger vans from model year 2015 were recalled due to brake fluid leaks, while another 600 Transit cargo variants were recalled after Ford discovered the windowless sliding doors could come open in the event of a side-impact crash. Dealers will replace the sealing washers on the passenger variants and add a reinforcement plate on the cargo models, The Detroit News reports.

Ford announces four recalls, 1.4M vehicles affected

Thu, 29 May 2014

Ford is taking a bit of the spotlight away from General Motors, announcing a major group of recall campaigns, covering a total of 1.4 million vehicles built between 2006 and 2013.
Let's start with the big one, which covers the Ford Escape, Mercury Mariner and, according to The Detroit News, Ford-built Mazda Tribute CUVs. 915,216 vehicles are covered, all of which were built in model years 2008 to 2011. 736,000 vehicles are in the US, while Canada then Mexico make up the vast majority of the remainder. The problem is due to an issue with the torque sensor in the steering column, which could lead to sudden power steering failure. Manual steering would still be available, though.
"Dealers will perform one of three service fixes, depending upon what diagnostic codes are shown when the vehicle is taken to the dealer," Ford spokeswoman Kelli Felker wrote to Autoblog in an email. "They will either update software for the power steering control module and the instrument cluster module; replace the torque sensor; or replace the steering column, which includes upgraded power steering control module software."
