Up for sale is a 1992 LSC in one of the rarest colors of the Mark VII run.  This color is a 1992 only color.  It is Deep Jewel Green Clear Coat Metallic Exterior with Mocha Leather. The door jam codes, show the correct codes for this color combination, and I have the original window sticker too that shows it.   In the pictures, the car shows more blue than it does in person.  If you know these cars, you know this color and its desirability amongst Mark VII enthusiasts.  1992 was the last and lowest production year for the Mark VII.  This is probably one of the rarest factory combinations out there.  It is often compared to the rarity of the 1990 Grey Special Edition.  1992 had the greatest interior with Pressed (gathered) leather with piping instead of stitching.  The steering wheel did not have sport holes or the seats, as did previous years.  The door panels had leather/vinyl inserts instead of cloth as did previous years.  The 1992 also had a one year only grill with 7 grey inserts.  This car has less than 44,000 miles and it shows.  This is one of the cleanest ones around and the interior is amazing and smells like LSC's did back in 1992. The paint is shiny as can be with no fading.  You can see the trees and the sky reflecting in the pictures.  As clean as it is, it is not perfect.  It was garaged, but it was driven for 44,000 miles.  I say this, because I am very picky and I don't want potential buyers to believe that this car shows as a time capsule, climate controlled kept car.  It is exceptionally clean and some would call it mint.  As a car collector myself, and having spent almost $20,000 on a paint job on my old Corvette, I am calling it very, very clean. If you want a close to mint one and want to pay a lot more money for it, I have a 1991 that is white on tan with 19,000 miles that I will sell instead.  I am looking to downsize my current collection of cars, but love this car and all the others I have.

This car comes with the original MSRP Window Sticker, the original Mark VII vinyl case, with the owners manual, warranty card with VIN number, and other manuals that came with the car.  There is also a document that looks like the cars first registration receipt.  There is a business card which I believe to be the sales person who sold the car new.  Another cool item that comes with the car is a newspaper article from the early 1990's talking about "green" being the new color.  All of these things were present with the car which gives it some nice documentation to have with the car, especially the window sticker and warranty card, as they are specific to the car and could never be replaced.  I also have a carfax report that was ran on 12/6/2012 showing no issues (please run your own report to verify).

The car appears to have all original body panels, as the VIN tags are present on all panels, including the bumpers and valences.  Everything appears to work on the car and it runs and drives real nice.  I purchased this car last year and drove it home on a two hour ride, over 100 miles.  It is an awesome LSC.  I had a green one back when I was 18, and wanted to relive that.  However, after I drove it home from Connecticut to NY, I did not ever find the time to use it again, so I took it out of storage, took pictures, and am selling it.  The car is titled to me and has a clean, ready to transfer NY title.  The person that I bought this car from was sad to see it go, and I will be too.  I love this color combination, and when I look at it in my garage, its like looking at my car 15 years ago but something needs to go.

I can see the exhaust system is not too old (still has stickers on the pipes), the alternator, and regulator and battery are not that old.  The tires have very low mileage.  The car is all stock with the exception of a radar detector that was installed (seems when the car was new based on a radar detector manual in the car dated June of 1992), and a clarion face off radio with an in dash CD player.

All of the emblems and trim are on the car in great shape.  All the glass except the windshield  is original carlite glass.  The door windows still have the original Ford - Buckle Up stickers on them.  This car does not have the typical dry rot on the belt sweep moldings either.  They are clean as can be.  Also, the original Marchal fog lights are present as well as the covers.  The bumper pads and chrome are in great shape.  The "Mark VII" red emblem on the grill is still perfect red with no fading.  The seats have no opens, fades, splits, or cracks.  In fact, even the piping (stitch) on the drivers chair does not have the typical splits that a 1992 LSC had.  Interior has no stains, headliner is not sagging.  The keyless entry pad on the drivers door looks new, and all numbers are 100% visible.  The headlights are crystal clear.  The air suspension does not leak at all.  I had the car parked with the battery disconnected for over 6 months and the car stayed up on all 4.  The compass and information center work, as well as door lock actuators, window motors, and seat motors. This car is a get in and go car.  However, it is also an as-is where-is sale.  The car is 22 years old, and I always say with older cars, it is up to the buyer to verify its road worthiness (even when I am a buyer).  I express no warranty or guarantee.  Please come see the car and check it out if you need to.  I have 100% feedback on ebay for many years, even before it was easy to get, both as a buyer and seller.  I always do my best to give an honest description.  You will not be disappointed with this car for the price I am asking.  It's an excellent car and an excellent investment, as you can buy it, enjoy it for a while, and still get your money back or more if you don't mess it up.  Please ask any questions.  Car is located in ZIP 11360.  Please note, I will not release the car or title until funds have cleared completely (when bank tells me).

1955 Lincoln Indianapolis concept up for auction

Sat, 21 Sep 2013

Lincoln was never a brand known for making sports cars. In fact it hasn't offered anything with less than four doors since the demise of the Mark VIII, and that was hardly what you'd call "performance oriented". But that doesn't mean that Ford's luxury marque never toyed with the idea.
In 1955 Ford delivered a Lincoln chassis (along with a 200-horsepower V8 engine and four-speed automatic transmission) to Carrozzeria Boano, an Italian coachbuilder that had just branched off from Ghia the year before. The resulting orange coupe you see here was named after Indianapolis and was unveiled at the Turin Motor Show. And while its detailing may have been divisive, the overall shape certainly caught the eye.

Ford tumbles to second worst in Consumer Reports reliability survey, list dominated by Japanese [w/video]

Mon, 29 Oct 2012

It's no secret that MyFord Touch has had its share of problems since being introduced, but the most recent reliability survey from Consumer Reports shows just how much this infotainment system has affected Ford. Just two years ago, the automaker was in the top 10 for the institute's reliability rankings, but since then, it has tumbled to the second-lowest rung just above dead-last Jaguar. In addition to MyFord Touch, CR also attributes a handful of new products that have had issues right out of the gate.
Compiled from 1.2 million subscriber surveys, this year's auto reliability survey heavily favors Japanese automakers, with eight of the 10 spots hailing from Japan. Toyota brands grabbed the top three spots (Scion, Toyota and Lexus - in that order) with Mazda, Subaru, Honda and Acura filling the next four spots. The only non-Asian automaker cracking the top 10 was Audi at number eight.
Audi climbed a total of 18 spots from last year, and Cadillac and GMC round out this year's top gainers breaking into the top 15. Helping Cadillac's upward movement, the CTS Coupe was named the most reliable domestic car. Lincoln, Volvo and Chrysler join Ford on this year's biggest loser list.

2015 Lincoln MKC aims to rejuvenate the brand... again

Wed, 20 Nov 2013

Ford is slowly but surely attempting to revitalize the Lincoln brand, with the new MKZ sedan pointing the way forward for the Blue Oval's struggling luxury division. Here at the LA Auto Show, Lincoln is showing the next new product that aims to give the brand new life, the 2015 MKC crossover.
The MKC is based on the trusty Ford Escape, but this is far more than just a rebadge job. Lincoln has used completely new sheetmetal here, with the brand's familiar split-wing grille front and center, and a classy, wraparound tailgate with super slim taillamps that span the width of the hatchback. It's one of the better applications of Lincoln's new design language we've seen thus far, and the end result is a taut-looking crossover that is at the same time both modern and luxurious-looking.
Further differentiating itself from the Escape, the MKC packs an all-new 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, good for 275 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque. (On the base end, Ford's 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder with 240 hp and 270 lb-ft is available.) The MKC also uses a new Continuously Controlled Damping adaptive suspension, and is available with both front- and all-wheel drive.
