She seems to be absolutely rust free. I can't find any rust anywhere. Beautiful stainless trim and chrome, a great black paint, i give the paint 7,5 of a scale of 1-10 she need to be "polished" and there is a couple of tiny scratches but to small to be seen in pictures. The interior is in great condition also, "like new". All the rubber sealing at the doors and windows seems to be replaced. This is a older restoration but she,s overall still in great condition. There is no oil leaks from the engine. She have suicide doors in the back and there is no door handles to open the doors just push the knob and the door pops up! Very cool like a factory custom! There is a lot of spare parts that comes with the car in the trunk, a new carburetor, manuals and a lot of other parts. Ok she seems like a fantastic car and that is just what she is! What she need though see below."

NO RESERV AUCTION!!!  Immaculate WWII 1942 Lincoln Zephyr V12 Flathead engine. Drives, shifts and stops great.  She seems to be absolutely rust free. I can't find any rust anywhere. There is a lot of spare parts that comes with the car in the trunk, a new carburetor, manuals and a lot of other parts. Ok she seems like a fantastic car and that is just what she is!  But like all cars 70 + years there is always some small things to do and this one need the following! One window crank for left rear door that is missing, The window crank for the left front door is in the trunk. Lincoln badges for 3 of the hubcaps is missing . Radio is also in the trunk probably not working as removed but its all there! Nob for the switch to turn on lights is missing. One trim between door and hood is in the trunk and the other side seems to be missing? Interior lights for the lower left and right panel is wired but is in the trunk and needs to be put back in the hole already made. Chrome pieces on both sides of the hood is in the trunk and need to be repaired and re chromed.  I have the stainless steel trim for both sill,s  but they need to be repaired and polished they have dents. The door cranks at the passenger sides need to have 2  plastic knobs. I live on a gravel road and at the ruff parts there is a noise! I haven't been able to locate it  yet but it sounds like coming from exhaust pipe or something. The exhaust is in great condition too. There is a little bit TLC needed for this Lincoln but just "small"stuff. I tried to describe this beauty as good as i can BUT This car is  over 70 YEARS OLD!! so have that in mind.  Buyer is responsible for pick up but i can help to drive her to a close location for easier pick up if needed. Title in hand. Good luck and happy bidding.

Ford's Galhotra succeeds Farley as head of Lincoln

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

Ford Motor Company is announcing a major personnel shakeup that could have a dramatic effect on the future of the Lincoln division. Kumar Galhotra (pictured above), currently vice president of engineering at Ford for all of its vehicles worldwide, is taking over as the president of the luxury brand on September 1, replacing Jim Farley. The automaker is also hiring a new head of advanced engineering.
Galhotra has a huge job ahead of him as the new boss of Lincoln worldwide, overseeing product development, marketing, sales and service. His task is to turn the luxury division into a world-class brand as quickly as possible, and he reports directly to Ford President and CEO Mark Fields.
"These changes underscore our commitment to build on the success of our One Ford plan by accelerating our pace of progress. They also make clear we are serious about Lincoln as a world-class luxury brand and that product excellence and innovation are what will deliver growth and define our entire company going forward," said Fields in the company's announcement.

Lincoln 'not true luxury' yet, says Ford design chief

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

Lincoln is "not true luxury," according to Ford's design boss, J Mays. His statements come from a story in The Detroit News that saw candid language on the issues facing Ford's troubled premium brand. Notably, there's a need for a strong character, with Mays saying, "Every brand needs to have a DNA and a unique selling point and things in the vehicle that make you think, 'That's that particular brand.'"
With a range of rebadged Fords, it's not hard to see why that DNA is missing. Mays hinted that a full recovery for Lincoln will be a ten-year process, that's been kicked off with the MKZ sedan. While that car is still largely a Ford Fusion under its extremely pretty wrapper, it's the first Lincoln in some time to inject its own unique take both through the exterior styling and through interior features, such as the vertical, pushbutton gear selection.
Some analysts weren't so certain about Mays' 10-year estimate. Jim Hall of 2953 Analytics thinks it'll be more like 30 years before Lincoln can show a true return to form. The issue, as Hall explains it, is that, "luxury has a degree of exclusivity," that Lincoln just doesn't have. Michelle Krebs from Edmunds adds, "it's definitely a wanna-be luxury brand," comparing the troubled American brand with Infiniti and Acura, two other brands that have struggled to find their place in the luxury market.

Lincoln's first shipment of cars arrives in China

Mon, 15 Sep 2014

It has been two years since Lincoln first announced its plans to expand into China, and the first models destined for sale in the giant automotive market just came off the boat in Shanghai on September 10. It's going to be a few weeks before Chinese buyers actually have the chance to get behind the wheel, though.
The first two models being offered to China are the MKZ and MKC, as seen arriving in these photos, and they are going to be sold at dealers that look more like hotels than traditional showrooms. The first four are opening in Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou in October, with a grand unveiling of the new brand to Chinese consumers later that month. By the end of the year, Lincoln wants to have eight dealers operating in seven cities. By 2016, the automaker wants to have a lineup of five models available in the People's Republic.
"This is the culmination of months of teamwork and collaboration both in North America and here in China," said Robert Parker, President of Lincoln China, in the company's release.
