This car is in Fantastic Condition for its age. No rust on car. Has always been stored indoors.

FIRST TIME BEING OFFERED FOR SALE SINCE  1975. 2 OWNER CAR!

Drives like you are on a cloud and sounds awesome! Plenty of POWER in the 462 inch original motor.

A LOT! Of $ was just invested in this super cool ride to get it freshened up.  Following is a detailed description of the car and items done to it in the past few months.

Interior:

We just had ALL windows on the car completely professionally serviced by a LINCOLN SPECIALIST and they work great from ALL switches. (SEE YOUTUBE VIDEO link below)
1.    All window regulators were cleaned/ lubricated.
2.    Windows were All adjusted.
3.    Switches were ALL cleaned and or replaced.

ORIGINAL Seats are in Very good condition front and rear. Leather is soft and nice patina! (you can tell car has been kept indoors due to the nice surviving condition of seats etc.)
Door panels are in good shape
Dashboard is in good shape. minor crack at typical speaker cover in center by windshield.
Carpet is good. Some fading and two small 3 inch spots in rear under floor mats have been repaired but are small and hidden under floor mats.
Basically interior on car is in very good condition and needs near nothing. I only say “near” because it is a 40+ year old car and is not new.
Exterior:

The paint on the car is in good shape.

The car was  re-painted in its original VERY RARE (Charcoal Frost Metallic) Code S.  Plenty of clear coat on the car to shine.  Buyer should expect some minor flaws in the metallic paint here and there along with some minor dings here and there from storage but nothing major. Car was professionally wet sanded and polished this week to bring out the deep shine. I would rate the paint as a good driver+ condition.  Shines great and looks amazing with the new white top and the red interior. Very Rare color combo for this convertible. Car has no rust on it and underneath is very dry and solid. Floors are great. (See Photos) No issues at all.
Note : For the new Owner, there is a small amount of the original paint color used on the car that will come with it in case anything needs touched up in the future on the car.
Chrome on Front and Rear Bumpers is in good shape. Rated at driver quality. Nice shine, no rust but not perfect.
Door handle chrome is good. minor pits/hazing

All Stainless trim on car is in very nice shape

Engine: Original V8 462 CU

This car starts up easily and runs very strong. Motor sounds great and has plenty of power.  Transmission shifts smoothly into all gears and floats down the road. Power steering works great. Can steer car with one finger.  A pleasure to drive!

Engine bay is VERY clean and well kept/ detailed. (see photos)

Note: This car has been driven ONLY about 25 miles since being removed from private collection. Drives like a dream with no known issues other than constant THUMBS up from on lookers but should REALLY be looked at by your mechanic before taking on any long trips.  Check belts, hoses, etc to be safe.

Tires are good with 80 tread left.

CONVERTIBLE TOP:

PERHAPS MOST IMPORTANT WHEN IT COMES TO BUYING ONE OF THESE LINCOLNS....THE TOP!!!!

SEE TOP IN WORKING ACTION on YOUTUBE... type in search window " 1966 charcoal frost lincoln top working"

VERY VERY Important item on one of these cars is the hydraulic top functions.  This car has just been fully serviced for its Top Functions.  EVERYTHING was gone thru including EVERY Relay, ALL pumps, EVERY LIMIT SWITCH etc. at a cost of over $5000 which did include the power window servicing as well.  Any one that knows these cars, knows that it is VITAL to buy one already serviced for its top.  They are not cheap to have fully serviced but once this is complete they will work and last for another 40 years.  This service was just completed last week.  After that we took it to have a brand new original style pin point vinyl top installed which was an additional $2200 from upholstery shop.

Everything operates just as it did from the factory.

Top can be raised and lowered with ease FROM INSIDE THE CAR OR OUTSIDE BY GAS TANK SWITCH, and it is quite the site to see!!!
see video at You Tube

NOTE: IF YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH THE LINCOLNS OF THIS ERA, THEY HAD A KEYED SWITCH BY GAS TANK TO OPEN TRUNK. This works too.

SUMMARY…All the EXPENSIVE & hard work/RESTORATION is done on this car. No disappointments here. Car just needs minor items to be show quality.  Email me today to get this one before its too late!!!

Buy today and be cruising tomorrow!

I have tried to be very detailed and describe all I know about car.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT THIS CAR IS OVER 40 YEARS OLD AND ALTHOUGH IT HAS BEEN RESTORED, CARS OF THIS ERA WILL ALWAYS NEED SOMETHING FROM TIME TO TIME BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT NEW.

Email questions. Thanks!

BUY with CONFIDENCE!!!

I do my best to accurately describe the car and assist buyers through every step of the purchase!

Thanks again and GOOD LUCK

Please Keep in  mind…

Ford recalling 370,000 Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Town Car models

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

The Detroit News is reporting that Ford will recall some 370,000 Crown Victoria (pictured), Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car vehicles from model years 2005 through 2011, for an issue regarding the lower intermediate steering shaft. 355,000 of the vehicles in question were sold in the US, with the other 15,000 sold in Canada.
The report indicates that corrosion of the lower intermediate steering shaft could cause a "loss of steering," presumably because of a partial or complete failure of the part. The report points out the dealers will inspect and replace the offending steering component for recalled cars, and may also secure a lower steering column bearing and replace the upper intermediate steering shaft as needed. The company is unaware of any reports of the faulty part causing any accidents or injuries.
Ford helpfully lists states in which corrosion is more likely to have taken place, mostly in the Snow Belt, as you might guess. Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia are listed.

NHTSA upgrades Ford floor mat unintended acceleration probe

Mon, 17 Dec 2012

According to a Bloomberg report, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has upgraded an investigation into complaints of unintended acceleration lodged against Ford vehicles. The investigation began in June of 2010 when just three complaints had been received and it only concerned the Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan, but this was at a time when the phrase "unintended acceleration" made grown men go pale. With 49 additional complaints received since then, the investigation has been reclassified as an engineering analysis - the last phase before a recall - and it has been expanded to include the Lincoln MKZ, making for a total of "around 480,000" units affected between the three sedans from the 2008 to 2010 model years.
The ostensible cause is that floor mats are trapping the accelerator pedal, but according to a Ford statement at the time, the entrapment is due to owners placing the optional all-weather floor mats, or aftermarket floor mats, on top of the car's standard floor mats. NHTSA has backed up that assessment, pinning the blame on "unsecured or double stacked floor mats."
On the face of it, it would appear that NHTSA has upgraded the status not because of Ford's error, but owner error, and Ford has stated publicly that it is "disappointed" in NHTSA's move. On top of NHTSA still being skittish after that other unintended acceleration debacle, it could be seen to be taking its time investigating all of the variables: it's reported that Ford changed its accelerator pedal design in 2010, a "heel blocker" in the floorpan has been considered a potential culprit in how the floor mats could be trapping the pedal, some drivers have said the floor mats weren't anywhere near the pedal, and according to a report in the LA Times, in "a letter sent by Ford to NHTSA in August 2010, the automaker said it found three injuries and one fatality that 'may have resulted from the alleged defect.'"

Ford recalling 850,000 cars and SUVs for airbag issues

Fri, 26 Sep 2014

Ford has announced a major recall of 850,000 vehicles from model years 2013 and 2014 due to a problem with the "restraints control module."
According to Ford, a short circuit could develop in the module, causing the airbag warning light to illuminate. In more severe cases, dependent on where the short develops, the airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioners may not work in the event of an accident. The problems can be more wide-ranging than that, too, as systems that rely on information from the control module, such as the stability control can be affected.
With 850,000 vehicles affected, it's no surprise that some of Ford's volume leaders are covered. That includes the Fusion and Lincoln MKZ sedans, as well as the incredibly recall-prone Escape and the C-Max MPV.
