1966 lincoln , this is a pretty sweet old ride, it runs and drives good . I got it from a man that bought it for his elderly father and he had painted it satin black and his dad didnt drive it much . His dad passed soon after and this guy just kept it stored until I bought it . It has no rust that I can find , from what I'm hearing these cars were prone to rust . This old car is straight , the guy also told me he had new body panels installed before painting it. The only dents i can find are in front under the hood look at the pictures.the rear bumper has a little rust on the bottom of it. The trim is all in good shape a few dings on the trim but nothing bad. The engine is a 462 ci 340 horse . It has a posi track rearend and it will smoke the back tires. We just put 4 new tires on it . The interior is dirty from sitting. This car originally had a vinyl top on it , I can have a new vinyl top , the arm rest reapoltered, and a new headliner professionally installed for you for an additional $875. All the windows work but they work very slow so I didnt mess with them . This really is a cool old car, buy it put some nice wheels and tires on it tint the windows and have a great crusier, no one is going to have one like it . I get people stopping to look at it all the time. It also has a new ignition switch, new gas, new gas filter, new electric fuel pump. Im sure I missed something but call or text me if you have any questions. 573-330-2912 Ken Delivery availble in all 48 states for $2.00mile one way .

NHTSA closes rollaway investigation into 1.56M Ford SUVs
Mon, 11 Mar 2013It's taken four years of study, but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has finally closed the books on its investigation into rollaway accusations surrounding 1.56-million Ford SUV models.
The probe, which centered on the 2002-2005 Ford Explorer, 2002-2005 Mercury Mountaineer and 2003-2005 Lincoln Aviator, ends without the federal agency calling for a recall. According to The Detroit News, the investigation was closed due to a "low number of complaints" - NHTSA documented 180 such complaints that resulted in 14 crashes and six minor injuries, but the number of incidents have been slowing. The suspected defect rate for the trucks' automatic transmissions was found to be 4.4 per 100,000 units, and the brake-shift interlock mechanism failure rate was judged to be even lower at 3.4 per 100k.
Ford recalling 370,000 Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Town Car models
Fri, 30 Aug 2013The Detroit News is reporting that Ford will recall some 370,000 Crown Victoria (pictured), Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car vehicles from model years 2005 through 2011, for an issue regarding the lower intermediate steering shaft. 355,000 of the vehicles in question were sold in the US, with the other 15,000 sold in Canada.
The report indicates that corrosion of the lower intermediate steering shaft could cause a "loss of steering," presumably because of a partial or complete failure of the part. The report points out the dealers will inspect and replace the offending steering component for recalled cars, and may also secure a lower steering column bearing and replace the upper intermediate steering shaft as needed. The company is unaware of any reports of the faulty part causing any accidents or injuries.
Ford helpfully lists states in which corrosion is more likely to have taken place, mostly in the Snow Belt, as you might guess. Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia are listed.
Lincoln needs a farewell address, not a new marketing plan

The trouble with Ford's Lincoln brand is that no one cares about it any more.
Not long after I heard that Mark LaNeve, chief operating officer of Ford agency Team Detroit, was moving to take over direct operations of the New York ad agency Hudson Rouge for Lincoln, I heard that JCPenney CEO Ron Johnson was ousted. The two events are connected.
