This original So. Cal black plates classic is on its way to being a finished restoration car. I bought this car from its second owner in 2009 in Escondido, California. I still have the original CA license plates.
This is an original car with no modifications (original radio, tires, engine.....everything).
Since owning the car, I have had the body and paint completely redone by International Auto Body & Paint Collision in Murray, Utah, with extensive rust protection sprayed on the back sides of the body panels and the trunk.
This car was stripped to bare metal and was redone in correct professional fashion. The body and paint is very clean, shiny, and straight.
The car runs strong. It could use a little mechanical work (it leaks oil and fluid). I had the carburetor rebuilt, and had a new starter, coil, muffler and pipes installed.
You can see from the pictures that the car has been disassembled. Though the pictures don't show it, I do have all the parts to put it back together. I would suggest getting the interior redone to match the quality of the exterior.
I am selling this car because the shop that was doing the work for me closed. I don't have the time to finish this car so I have to give it up. Please, only serious inquiries. I can provide more information and pictures if you are interested.
Thank you.

LA Auto Show recap
Lincoln poised to double MKZ Hybrid production
Thu, 18 Jul 2013The Lincoln MKZ Hybrid has been something of a hit for Ford since the beginning, exceeding the company's modest projected 15-percent take rate for more than two years (we say "modest" because that still means an overwhelming majority of Lincoln customers are passing up on the gas-electric powertrain even though it costs the same as the standard model). Either way, Lincoln builds 700 MKZ Hybrids at its plant in Mexico each month, but has sold 715 of them in each of the past three months. That's why, according to a report in The Detroit News, when the restyled 2014 MKZ Hybrid arrives (non-hybrid pictured), Ford is doubling production compared to 2013. Instead of the hybrid model being 20 percent of production, the new hybrid will make up 40 percent.
Ford is doing well with hybrids in general - its portion of the electrified vehicle segment jumping 12 points in a single year to 16 percent. Assuming Ford doesn't change the pricing strategy (along with the changes Ford is making to calibration to improve fuel economy), the sedan could continue to "[show] other luxury hybrids how it's done" when it goes on sale later this year.
Ellen DeGeneres sends up Matthew McConaughey's Lincoln ad
Mon, 29 Sep 2014Lincoln had to have known that when it released its new ad campaign for the new MKC with Matthew McConaughey, it would open itself up to a bit of good old fashioned ridicule. The television commercial was, after all, good for a laugh or two. And true to their mission, talk show hosts haven't missed the opportunity to have a little fun at Lincoln's and McConaughey's expense.
Conan O'Brien was first to send up the television spot, but now Ellen DeGeneres has taken a stab at it too, superimposing herself in the back seat of the compact luxury crossover, downing some pot brownies and generally playing Costello to McConaughey's Abbott. It's worth a watch, if only to see Ellen getting down in her usual, offbeat style.
