This is the last year (1995) of the iconic Range Rover Classic Series!! The Range Rover Classic was Land Rover’s transition from the old school defender look to the new school P38, Discovery and the new Range Rover line. The 1995 Range Rover Classic had many luxury upgrades over previous Classic models including the soft dash, the interior leather etc… The lines on this car are incredibly beautiful and EVERYONE comments on how cool looking it is wherever I take it. Here are the details of all of the upgrades to the vehicle which total an estimated at $24,000 NOT COUNTING WHAT I ORIGINALLY PAID FOR THE VEHICLE FROM A COLLECTOR:

  1. Complete engine overhaul immediately prior to my purchase (at 130,000 miles). ($2500)

  2. CAT exhaust system with a sexy throaty sound. ($1200)

  3. Bilstien shocks and coils to replace the shi****ty can suspension system that breaks down on every rover that has it. ($1000). Additional 2 inch lift.

  4. Brand new paint job ($5000) using Mercedes brilliant white. I had the painters remove the upper rear vinyl covered panels and paint them white. The vinyl was always ugly. I don’t think you will find another Classic with this simple but cool modification.

  5. ARB Deluxe front bumper with a Warn Winch with detachable control that you keep in the glove box. ($2800)

  6. Hella lights- 6 x 100 watt and 2 x smaller lights. The Hella light backs are professionally painted red which really stands out as unique! This lights up at night and looks like a UFO going down the road.

  7. Roof Rack- Off Road Challenge Edition from Voyager Off Road ($1500)

  8. Installation of roof rack and wiring of the Hella Light systems ($800)

  9. Land Rover special edition Sawtooth Wheels (set of 5 16 x 17 for $1,943.20). These are very rare and I doubt you will see them on any other rover other than a collector defender. They are absolutely beautiful and brand new. Look them up at www.roversnorth.com.

  10. Set of 5 brand new tires- goodyear Wrangler duratrac ($1500)

  11. Hi Lift Jack that I had powder coated and mounted on the front. The powder coating prevents any rust drip on my expensive ARB bumper!  ($500)

  12. Recovery loops for ARB bumper ($250)

  13. 2 Rovers North Shovels to mount on the roof rack.

  14. Floor mat sets- Range rover classic and another set from weather tech including a cargo mat. ($500)

  15. Engine leaks fixed (there is one very small remaining leak we are trying to find), radiator pressure tested and leak fixed. New alternator and various other small engine parts replaced or seals replaced over the last several years. ($5000)

  16. Transmission rebuilt within a month of my purchase of this vehicle and done professionally by a dealership. The automatic transition shifts beautifully as a brand new one should. ($2500)

  17. Heat pump/AC box replaced (I think this is what it is called) ($1500) which involved removal of the entire dashboard.

  18. New battery and new spark cables. New radiator fluid reservoir. ($400)

  19. New headliner ($800).

  20. Window tinting throughout ($1000)

  21. This car drives and tracts perfectly. It has the typical rover solid feel. Most old rovers drive very wonky due to various front end issues. this one drives and tracts perfectly at any speed!

For the serious collector, here is what in my opinion would make this the finest 1995 Range rover Classic in the world.

  1. Mount Aluminum Traction Sand Mat Set from Rovers North. See at http://www.roversnorth.com/ProductDesc.aspx?code=RNP1004

  2. New carpet- the existing carpet is nice and in great condition but new would make it PERFECT.

  3. New front upholstery- the existing upholstery is nice but new would be PERFECT. At a minimum, you could just re-cover the arm rests for $100. The front seats have some very minor age cracking but NO tears. The springs in the seats are solid and the power mechanisms all work. The seat heater on the drivers side does not work but could be as simple as a fuse replacement.

  4. Spare Tire Mount for the rear with NATO gas can mount. See it here http://www.tiregate.com/hg-series/. An alternative is to simply mount the brand new spare tire with brand new sawtooth rim in the roof rack, which would look great.

The interior is in exceptional shape which is rare for a rover of this age. The dash is perfect, no sun wear or tears. The carpets and upholstery are in good shape, without stains or tears. The car is has been my daily driver since purchase and the engine runs perfect, no smoke from the exhaust, no ticks, starts immediately. Heater, AC, original radio all work perfectly. The CD system needs a CD disc holder. Speakers and sound system works great.  I am a doctor and I love old Land Rovers and particularly love the lines of the 1995 Classic. I have spared no expense in bringing this car back to the present better than original condition with the customized details that make this car really stand out to the Land Rover sophisticated or un-sophisticated eye. I live in Washington State and the car has always been garaged and never been off road. I just had the vehicle serviced and had all major fluids changed.

The paint is brand new Mercedes brilliant white and looks FANTASTIC!.

This is a 3.9 L. V8 gasoline.

Loaded with all the options including sunroof. 175k miles, but engine rebuilt at 130k miles. You will not find another 1995 RR Classic SWB in this condition or with the upgrades this one has, all done by professional mechanics.

The following is a partial list of amenities that are fully functional: Tilt up and slide sunroof, cold AC, power windows, power seats, power adjustable side view mirrors, tilt steering wheel, power steering. All gauges are working, heat and A/C function properly, all windows and sunroof work.

Call me (Scott)  at 360-631-1239 with any questions before you buy or bid. Car is sold as is, no returns. This is a 1995 collectors car and I have described it honestly and in as much detail as possible. This car is not for the timid or weak at heart. It is a bold bold head turning ride, and would be great for a collector of old Rovers.

Jaguar-Land Rover builds millionth vehicle at Halewood

Fri, 29 Nov 2013

Jaguar-Land Rover is not what you'd call a volume automaker by any stretch of the imagination. But in the dozen years since it started manufacturing at its Halewood plant near Liverpool, England, the automaker has already built its millionth vehicle.
The landmark vehicle is a Range Rover Evoque, done up in white with red roof and mirrors, black wheels and a red and black interior. The crossover is set to be donated to Cancer Research UK, which will auction it off next year to help fund its projects in the north-west of the country.
Halewood started manufacturing the Jaguar X-Type in 2001, then went on to assemble the Land Rover LR2 / Freelander 2 before taking on production of the Evoque a year and a half ago. The facility reached the 300,000-unit milestone just last year as production moved to a 24-hour cycle for the first time in either marque's history.

Jaguar Land Rover says key models in short supply, some have six-month wait lists

Fri, 08 Aug 2014

Care for a bit more proof that the Jaguar Land Rover portfolio of vehicles is the best it's ever been? Well, the Indian-owned pair of brands saw a record year in 2013, while 2014 has seen a 14-percent increase in sales. The crazy thing is, though, is that figure could be even higher, provided the company had the production capacity.
JLR is running a six-month waiting list on two of its most popular models, the Range Rover Sport (above) and Range Rover. According to Mark White, the company's chief technologist for body engineering, the blame can be placed on the paint shop at the company's Solihull factory, in the UK.
"We will probably max out the paint shop before we max out the body shop. Putting the second body shop in has given us the flexibility to ebb and flow the different models that go through there and meet the capacity demands we've got," White told Automotive News. "However, you always hit a bottleneck somewhere. And the paint shop is probably going to be the next biggest obstacle."

Is Jaguar's 3 Series-fighter the brand's last chance?

Wed, 16 Oct 2013

The upcoming line of compact 3 Series-fighters from Jaguar, often referred to as the Jaguar XS, could consist of a sedan, wagon and possibly a coupe and GT model (think BMW 5 Series GT). The car's all-aluminum architecture also will provide the basis for two new sports utility vehicles. Just how important is the much-touted "baby Jag" project to parent company Jaguar Land Rover? A JLR executive reportedly says the brand's survival is directly linked to the success of the XS, codenamed X760, Autocar reports.
The brand's survival is directly linked to the success of the XS.
"If the X760 fails, it will probably be the end for the [Jaguar] brand," the executive says. But Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar's global brand director, claims Jaguar will "build the most advanced, most efficient, most refined car in that [compact luxury sedan] segment. Not almost as good as, but better than the best in the world."
