Clean 2000 Land Rover Discovery Ii Se 76k Miles Blk / Tan Offroad & Trail Ready on 2040-cars
San Mateo, California, United States
Remarkably clean 2000 Land Rover Discovery Series II. This is the second year of the Discovery Series II, and an SE model. It is a straight, RUST-FREE DII throughout, to include chassis, undercarriage, roofline and gutters, door panels, fenders, quarter panels, door sills, rocker panels and tailgate areas. It is fairly loaded with all Power amenities except DVD system. This Discovery II has the dual Power-sunroof option ( both work fine and DO NOT leak), roof bars and the factory Tow package ( although nothing has been towed). It also has TERRAFIRMA sidesteps ( manufactured by MANIK), factory full wraparound brush guards, headlight guards and rear-access ladder. In addition, it has been professionally fitted with a 2" Lift set up, with UK-made TERRAFIRMA springs (the commercial brand for the British autoparts-maker ALLMAKES), struts, lift blocks and bushings. Off-road grade Mickey Thompson all-terrain tires ( with approximately 95% tread on them), mounted on 16" steel wheels from ATLANTIC BRITISH. Completely stock, reliable 4.0L BOSCH engine ( revised by BMW during their tenure of Land Rover), not the early 4.0L GEMS, and NOT one of the 4.6L nightmare motors of later DIIs with the endemic cases of slipped cylinder sleeves, premature oil-pressure failure or defective-block issues. (Ever wonder why out of all Discovery IIs for sale most are 03-04s, and not the earlier ones..?) 76K original miles, and its condition reflects it. No engine issues or other drama. The powertrain runs GREAT. This Discovery II runs VERY well, tracks well, rides well and drives nicely both in town and in the highway, even with the all-terrain tires. Considering its vintage, This Discovery II is remarkably clean, and the photos do not do it justice~! The 2000 SE is one of the best years to own. It is turn-key, WITHOUT the usual head-gasket issues nor overheating, and it will make a great traveler or off-road trekker.
EXCELLENT headliner, without any sagging, staining or damage. Beluga-black factory finish still shines nicely, and looks great with the wheels. You must take a look at these very interesting links to understand the Land Rover bug: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1PVx2soxDc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JvHSR5wFZQ Feel free to EM or call with pertinent questions or serious inquiries. I can be reached at (650) 430-4660, no later than 9pm PST, please. I have spent over 20 years in this great country's military and have owned Land Rovers of various types and vintage for nearly 35 years. While I am not a mechanic, I am an avid Land Rover enthusiast ( I own four others) and consider myself fairly well-versed on most of the Land Rover quirks and have assessed this DII as a VERY solid, straight and rust-free example of an unrestored Land Rover Discovery. Honest CARFAX REPORT. CLEAR title. NON-SMOKER, NO pets or children in it. Always adult-owned, and its general condition reflects it.
* I reserve the right to end this listing at any time prior to the end of the auction, should an offer or a BUY-IT-NOW offer present itself. I am glad to assist with NATIONWIDE or OVERSEAS delivery at the most economical shipping rate available. I can do all coordination from here, and you pay the transporter cost directly to the shipper upon receipt of the Discovery. Should you be the winning bidder, I would like to receive payment within THREE business days, please. Cashiers check or Bank draft are preferred. Personal, business or annuity checks may be utilized, but must clear funds source prior to any transportation arrangements being made. Another option is a Bank wire transfer to the local CHASE Bank branch here in town. That expedites the process considerably and allows for faster shipping arrangements. Upon receipt of payment, I will overnight the title and Bill of sale to the winning bidder. Finally, PLEASE be sure to ask any and all questions prior to placing a bid, and prior to the end of the auction. If you have a ZERO rating, you MUST contact me in advance, prior to placing any bids. Not doing so will get you blocked and prevented from any further bidding in my listings. NO EXCEPTIONS. Please ensure that your source of funds is in place BEFORE placing a bid or making an offer. We are all adults here; let's not engage in silly games because it is counterproductive and a waste of time for all. Thank you for your interest~! |

Jaguar demanding customer data from reluctant dealers
Tue, 25 Feb 2014
Nearly every major business is collecting consumer data these days, and keeping that data secure has come to the forefront of many customer's minds. Jaguar Land Rover North America's decision to begin requesting more customer info from its dealer network appears unfortunately timed, however. If it had come a few years ago, it might have been ignored, but in today's climate of heightened awareness, a few dealers are pushing back. To put the showrooms in an even tougher position, JLR NA is threatening to deny quarterly incentives if they do not turn over the customer data, according to Automotive News.
JLR NA instated the nationwide plan, which it calls Single View CRM, on February 7, but according to Stuart Schorr, Jaguar Land Rover North America Vice President of Communications, the automaker has been negotiating with its dealers to institute the new program for over a year. Schorr tells Autoblog that no financial information is being shared, noting that such data is limited to customer details, including things like what vehicles they own and whether they have any pending service. The initiative is meant to "improve customers' and owners' engagement with the brand," he said. Also, the company is not accessing dealer data itself; instead showrooms are asked to enter the info into JLR's database.
Jaguar appoints Joe Eberhardt as North American President
Thu, 19 Dec 2013Jaguar Land Rover North America has appointed a new president, Joachim Eberhardt. The German exec, 50, had previously done stints at Chrysler Group, DaimlerChrysler UK, Mercedes-Benz USA and Daimler-Benz.
Eberhardt joins JLR NA in a good, but challenging time for the company. It's fresh off the launch of the Range Rover Sport and Jaguar F-Type, which have been subject to rave reviews, and its overall sales are up 21 percent over 2012. Still, as Automotive News points out, the two manufacturers face a fight to become the equal of A-list competitors like BMW and Mercedes in the eyes of consumers.
"Joe brings a proven industry track record and valuable global leadership experience in luxury sales, service and marketing. We look forward to Joe leading our North American team in working with our retail networks to further grow the business and better serve our customers," JLR's group sales operations director, Andy Goss, said.
Jaguar Land Rover says key models in short supply, some have six-month wait lists
Fri, 08 Aug 2014Care for a bit more proof that the Jaguar Land Rover portfolio of vehicles is the best it's ever been? Well, the Indian-owned pair of brands saw a record year in 2013, while 2014 has seen a 14-percent increase in sales. The crazy thing is, though, is that figure could be even higher, provided the company had the production capacity.
JLR is running a six-month waiting list on two of its most popular models, the Range Rover Sport (above) and Range Rover. According to Mark White, the company's chief technologist for body engineering, the blame can be placed on the paint shop at the company's Solihull factory, in the UK.
"We will probably max out the paint shop before we max out the body shop. Putting the second body shop in has given us the flexibility to ebb and flow the different models that go through there and meet the capacity demands we've got," White told Automotive News. "However, you always hit a bottleneck somewhere. And the paint shop is probably going to be the next biggest obstacle."
