1999 Land Rover Discovery SE7. Black exterior with Tan leather interior. Runs great 149060 miles. No trouble lights on. Good condition inside and out for the year. Paint shows a deep shine when washed up (not able to do it with northeast weather lately). Tan leather interior looks good with 7 passenger seating. 4 wheel drive works great. Dual sunroofs, Roof Rack, Ladder, Tow Package (never used), has the better Rover rims. This is a good looking, great running Discovery that my wife drives every day. We just took 2 kids back to college one in RI and the other PA and it ran great. It does or will need a couple of things. (oil pan gasket leaks a bit, not and emergency but should be done at some point. Power steering needs to be looked at it loses fluid so it could be a hose but my wife still drives it every day). It has a dent on the passenger front door that was there when we bought it, we left it you might want it fixed door works fine. We bought it about a year ago to bring our kids back and forth to college (didn't want to drive a mini van) but it's too much for the wife to drive every day. Jaguar Land Rover building new Special Vehicle Operations facility
Sun, 17 Aug 2014It's only been a couple of months since Jaguar Land Rover announced the formation of its new Special Operations division, and we've already seen a number of vehicles to come out of it. But now the British automaker has announced a new facility that will house its elite skunkworks department.
Set to be built at Prologis Park in Ryton, England, on the outskirts of Coventry, the new Special Vehicle Operations Technical Centre will encompass dedicated production lines, F1-style flexible workshops, a dedicated paint studio and VIP suite for commissioning bespoke projects. JLR will spend some $33 million on the facility that will be home to 150 specialists - 100 of them being new hires.
The first project which the Special Operations division is working on is the F-Type Project 7, but we've already seen more projects in the pipeline - including the upcoming Range Rover Sport SVR - and you can bet there'll be more. The revival of the Lightweight E-Type also falls under Special Operations, but is undertaken by the Jaguar Heritage department located nearby at Browns Lane.

Coming off press previews of the 2013 Land Rover Range Rover and the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee that involved some heavy-duty off-road rock climbing, I'm simply amazed at the capabilities that these vehicles possess. But even more impressive (or troubling depending on your perspective) is the relative ease with which you can operate these vehicles in seemingly impossible terrain.
Jaguar and Land Rover to consolidate dealerships
Thu, 29 Nov 2012Jaguar and Land Rover are set to merge their sales facilities, according to Inside Line. Jaguar Land Rover North America President Andy Gross says 45 percent of Jaguar owners also have an SUV in their stable, so it makes sense to give customers as much exposure to the cat's high-riding cousins and possible. The number of overall outlets will remain the same, and the brands will reportedly remain separate on the showroom floor, however.
So far, just one dealer has made the move to combine under the roof of one 68,000 square-foot facility in Paramus, New Jersey (above), though a further 20 are ready to make the shift and become Jaguar Land Rover outlets. Gross believes the shift is necessary so that his company's dealer network will accurately reflect the company's products. We'll see how cozy the brands are when Jaguar starts rolling out its own SUVs in a few years.
