This is my personal truck I have been restoring. It starts right up and runs smoothly. The drive train is hooked up, and I have been driving it around the yard to make sure the 4X4 is working correctly. It has been built from the frame up and is about 95% done. Will be a great truck for someone willing to put in that last bit of work.

Chassis:
It has a galvanized chassis(D90 300 Tdi spec), 2" Lift Terrafirma suspension and steering damper, all new bushings, restored 24 spline axles with disc brakes front and rear, power brakes, power steering, genuine LR Boost alloy wheels(5), 255/85R16E(33.3x10" 10 Ply) BFG Mud Terrain KM2's(5), 300 Tdi 4 cylinder direct injected inter-cooled and turbocharged diesel engine(up to 28mpg in a D90, and can cruise at 70mph), D90 300Tdi-spec R380 56A suffix J 5 speed manual transmission, D90 300Tdi-spec 1.4 ratio LT230 2 speed transfer case with later style factory cross drilled input shaft for improved oil circulation and durability. The engine and axles have just under 50k miles on them. The transmission and transfer case have just under 30k miles on them.
Body:
It has a D90 Station Wagon body; it's solid, with only a few small spots of surface corrosion that were sanded down before being sprayed and are noted in the extra pics; the foot wells had some small spots of corrosion that were repaired with new sheet metal; it has an inexpensive flat black paint job on it now, it will need to be painted for a factory-style paint job; full frame front doors with wind up windows, push button handles, D90 front door panels; full frame rear door with rear window heater, washer, and wiper; rear spare tire mount; alloy roof and sides with lockable sliding glass windows; correct 300Tdi spec transmission tunnel and floor boards; full LeSalle molded fiber glass headliner front and rear, with section in front for stereo and speakers overhead to protect them from water entering during off road driving; XS style gray grill and facia; front D90 adjustable bucket seats; center console/cubby box/arm rest and a UK center front seat(either can be fitted); 4 rear jump seats with Moorland cloth upholstery; self tensioning lap and shoulder belts for the front bucket seats, lap belts for all the rest; factory insulation under the hood, on the firewall, and under the transmission tunnel.
I have almost 200 pictures of the full restoration process as well, so let me know if you'd like to see more pictures, or if you'd like to see it in person. It is basically complete, just needs the last bit of work.
What I know is needed:
I am continuing to work on it. Next, I plan to hook up the head lights and tail lights; replace a short section in the rear of the exhaust system; install the heater box, serpentine belt, a new bolt kit for the body, new Exmoor Trim front seat covers from Rovers North, and the seats and belts; and get a front end alignment for the newly installed steering and suspension. Once these things are finished, it will be basically ready to drive.
It is sold As-Is, with No Warranty. It is also listed for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Buyer is responsible for shipping costs and arrangements, or for local pick up. $2,000 Deposit due within 24 Hours of auction end and is Non-Refundable. Remainder due within 3 Days of auction end. You are welcome to contact me with any special arrangements needed Prior to Bidding. Feel free to ask any questions, or to make an appointment to check it out in person, but please only bid if you are going to buy it. Thank you!

Jaguar Land Rover and Chery investing in Chinese plant

Sat, 24 Nov 2012

While the European auto market for Jaguar and Land Rover is waning, Chinese car buyers can't get enough of the British marques. To meet that demand, Tata Motors, parent company of Jag and Land Rover, is partnering with Chinese automaker Chery Automobile Co.
The two announced plans to invest $1.75 billion to build a new plant and create a new, China-focused brand. 2014 is the target for completion of the factory. Jaguars and Land Rovers built at the facility will be the first ever produced outside the UK according to the Associated Press. The JV will be called Chery Jaguar Land Rover Automotive Company Ltd.
The announcement comes less than a month after JLR announced it would open a design studio in China. It's not clear from the reports whether the two announcements are part of the same JV or two separate plans.

Mazda CX-5 named Japan's Car of The Year, Subaru BR-Z wins "Special Award"

Mon, 03 Dec 2012

The Mazda CX-5 stamped its Kodo design and SkyActiv technology authority all over the Japan Car of the Year awards, taking the top prize ahead of the Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT 86. It is Mazda's second victory in the last ten years, the 2005 MX-5 claiming the same trophy, and the fourth time the Hiroshima company has won.
The award is decided by 60 local "automotive experts and journalists," and open to any passenger car released in Japan from November 1, 2011 to October 31, 2012 that has sold more than 500 units. Each judge gets 25 votes, his or her top vote getting 10 points, the rest of the points being spread among the judge's choice for the next best four cars.
The second-place getters were the Toyobaru twins with 318 votes, the surprise being they didn't beat or get any closer to the crossover. The Subaru BRZ did claw some mojo back, earning the Special Award given to cars that have made "an exceptional impact." The BMW 3 Series was third overall and won the Import Car of the Year award with plenty of room between it and the second place Range Rover Evoque.

Jaguar demanding customer data from reluctant dealers

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

Nearly every major business is collecting consumer data these days, and keeping that data secure has come to the forefront of many customer's minds. Jaguar Land Rover North America's decision to begin requesting more customer info from its dealer network appears unfortunately timed, however. If it had come a few years ago, it might have been ignored, but in today's climate of heightened awareness, a few dealers are pushing back. To put the showrooms in an even tougher position, JLR NA is threatening to deny quarterly incentives if they do not turn over the customer data, according to Automotive News.
JLR NA instated the nationwide plan, which it calls Single View CRM, on February 7, but according to Stuart Schorr, Jaguar Land Rover North America Vice President of Communications, the automaker has been negotiating with its dealers to institute the new program for over a year. Schorr tells Autoblog that no financial information is being shared, noting that such data is limited to customer details, including things like what vehicles they own and whether they have any pending service. The initiative is meant to "improve customers' and owners' engagement with the brand," he said. Also, the company is not accessing dealer data itself; instead showrooms are asked to enter the info into JLR's database.
