I have owned this Defender for two years and really haven't used it as I have another with the same specifications that I have outfitted for expeditions and use extensively.  This is my seventh Defender so I can say that to find one like this is very rare.   I had the vehicle refurbished in the UK, by a Company that I had used before and while they are more expensive the quality of workmanship is unsurpassed.

I started with a 1983 Land Rover 110 and while I was sourcing the various bits and pieces to rebuild it I was lucky to come across a ROW spec Land Rover that had been sitting in a UK military warehouse and bought it immediately to use as a parts vehicle.   I then bought a new galvanized frame and the lads went to work.

The result is wonderful as you can see and it has ONLY 3,126 miles from new.

There is not a better configuration for a Land Rover Defender than the ROW with the 300TDi and R380 transmission.

I have put almost 50,000 miles on the identical vehicle and the only problem I had was that the air conditioning compressor had to be replaced due to lack of use.  The last picture is of it.

The vehicle is stored in a garage in Vancouver and ready to inspect and drive anytime.  It is currently registered in British Columba and as a 1983 can be imported into the US.

I also have some extra bits such as a roof rack, A-bar, light guards, high performance intercooler etc which I am prepared to sell with the vehicle.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Stuart

PS, I will consider a partial trade for a 1997 NAS 90

Jaguar Land Rover creates new Special Operations division for halo vehicles, bespoke commissions

Fri, 13 Jun 2014

Jaguar Land Rover has announced that a new division of the British manufacturer will be dedicated to "bespoke commissions," as well as heritage products and apparel. Oh, and the new Special Operations division will also be behind JLR's halo cars from now on.
It's that last one that is the most tantalizing, as the last real halo product to see production from Jaguar was the XJ220. The Range Rover, meanwhile, has always had its own kind of halo reputation, although the Land Rover brand itself has never really gotten into the game with a dedicated model.
According to JLR, the new halo models will focus on ultra-high performance and luxury with a limited run of vehicles. The bespoke models, meanwhile, will give the wealthiest customers full sway over how vehicles are outfitted, with unique paints, trims and other accessories. The new SpecOps division will be run by John Edwards.

Jaguar Land Rover opens first overseas factory in China

Wed, 22 Oct 2014

Anyone who's a car fan knows that Jaguar and Land Rover cars and trucks all come from the UK. And while we don't doubt that will remain true for the most part, it won't be an absolute truth for long, as the British automaker has just opened its first factory overseas.
Its new plant in Changshu, China, is the result of a $1.8-billion joint venture between JLR and local automaker Chery. It covers some 4.3-million square feet and will, once at peak capacity, produce 130,000 units specifically for the Chinese market, where JLR sells over 100,000 vehicles each year to make it the company's single largest market worldwide.
Production at what's officially known as the Chery Jaguar Land Rover Automotive Company will start with the Evoque, of which one in five globally are currently sold in China. Production will eventually encompass three models. We already know that the Discovery Sport will be next, but the third model line has yet to be announced. JLR has confirmed, however, that the Changshu plant will produce unique models and derivatives specifically for the Chinese market, so we wouldn't be surprised to see a long-wheelbase version of the forthcoming XE or next-generation XF assembled there to satisfy local tastes.

Jaguar appoints Joe Eberhardt as North American President

Thu, 19 Dec 2013

Jaguar Land Rover North America has appointed a new president, Joachim Eberhardt. The German exec, 50, had previously done stints at Chrysler Group, DaimlerChrysler UK, Mercedes-Benz USA and Daimler-Benz.
Eberhardt joins JLR NA in a good, but challenging time for the company. It's fresh off the launch of the Range Rover Sport and Jaguar F-Type, which have been subject to rave reviews, and its overall sales are up 21 percent over 2012. Still, as Automotive News points out, the two manufacturers face a fight to become the equal of A-list competitors like BMW and Mercedes in the eyes of consumers.
"Joe brings a proven industry track record and valuable global leadership experience in luxury sales, service and marketing. We look forward to Joe leading our North American team in working with our retail networks to further grow the business and better serve our customers," JLR's group sales operations director, Andy Goss, said.
