1994 Lamborghini Diablo VT coupe V-12 manufactured in Sant Agata Italy along with 399 other VT's over a four year period. This is an extremely rare car, and is one of the last truly authentic Italian Lamborghini's. This car only has 15,534 miles from new, which is 800 miles a year! This car has never been wrecked, and has 90% of its original paint (notwithstanding a coil fire years ago which required re spraying the engine cover and quarter). This Lamborghini has new maintenance in 2012 including new fluids, belts, hoses, all new OEM sensors (2 map, 2 phase, tps, 2 air temp, 2 water temp), new air aux. valve, and fuel pressure regulators, spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, and coils. The tires have plenty tread, the brakes are strong and the steering is perfect. The engine is very strong, sounds great and starts right up. No smoke or clattering. The transmission moves through all gears with no grinding and has a strong clutch. The interior has no tears and is supple to the touch. Sold as is where is without any warranty of merchantibilty. Volkswagen Group names Paefgen head of classics program
Tue, 04 Oct 2011You may remember the name Franz-Josef Paefgen. Until recently, the German engineer and executive was head of both Bentley and Bugatti. Before that he was chief executive of Audi, after working for several years at Ford. He technically "retired" earlier this year, but like the cars he helped create, an executive like Paefgen could never really retire. So it should come as little surprise that the Volkswagen Group has named Dr. Paefgen head of its Classic program.
In his new capacity, Paefgen will oversee the historic automobile activities of the entire VW Group, including those of Volkswagen, Seat, Skoda, Audi, Lamborghini, and of course Bentley and Bugatti. It strikes us as a suitable semi-retirement for the man responsible in no small part for the Bugatti Veyron and Bentley Mulsanne, to name just two, and who was decorated in 2006 by the ACO as the "Spirit of Le Mans" for his contribution to endurance racing. Read the official announcement after the break.
Lamborghini brings exotic Super Trofeo series... to Kansas
Thu, 19 Sep 2013When you think of places associated with Lamborghini, what comes to mind? Sant'Agata, obviously. Monaco? Los Angeles? Hong Kong? How about Kansas? While the king of flyover states might not be the first place you'd imagine a squadron of race-tuned Lamborghinis running, the state is home to Kansas Speedway, a tri-oval that, like Daytona, has an internal road course, allowing drivers to run on the banking and on the infield.
Lamborghini brought its Super Trofeo North America series to the track to give the locals a taste of what high-performance Italian racers are capable of, and to be entirely honest, the racing looked pretty entertaining. The one-make racing series focuses on gentleman drivers in identical cars, and is running its first season on the North American continent, after starting in Europe and expanding to Asia. It's mainly a support race for Grand-Am, the American Le Mans Series and Indy Car races. Take a look below for the footage from the Kansas event.
Lamborghini recalls Aventador over headlamp problem
Fri, 14 Dec 2012The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a bulletin over a recall for up to 144 examples of the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador here in the States. The affected models, built from July 15, 2011 to April 20, 2012 have headlights that apparently don't conform to US federal motor vehicle safety standards. The lamps can be aimed horizontally but not vertically, which can reduce their usefulness for the driver and blind oncoming traffic if aimed improperly.
Lamborghini is expected to begin notifying affected owners next week, at which time they can take their Aventadors to their dealers for a fix free of charge. The complete bulletin from NHTSA is below.
