Here is a very nice customized 1984 Jeep CJ 7. 4.2L Engine that runs EXCELLENT, 5 speed manual transmission, 110k Original miles, Clutch is like new, New Speedo, New Carb, 5 New Shocks, New re-main seal, New 31" Tires(spare rim matches, tire don't but is like new). This Jeeps starts and runs like it is NEW. Does have some surface rust on body in places see pictures. Underneath is nice. Rear has two seats above fenders. Has cover over bed. CJ 8 Halftop. I have pictured all the rust spots. Tub is solid. Diamond tread is NOT covering rust. It was installed for cosmetic appearance. Hood scoop is not functional. Does have some surface rust as you can see in the pics. I purchased this Jeep from the second owner in Colorado. He had owned it 13 yrs. It was only used on the weekend to go to his cabin and go fishing. He said the Jeep had around 79K original on it when he purchased it. At around 90K the speedo quit working and he replaced it with a NEW one. It currently shows just shy of 20K, which would back up the mileage as 110K original miles. I would not be afraid to drive this Jeep anywhere. Other than possibly needing a new paint job and some minor body repair, this Jeep needs NOTHING. It has great eye appeal. Buy it and drive it as a daily driver or for the weekend getaway. I have this listed locally for sale and reserve the right to end sale early. If auction hits my minimum I will not end auction early to sell it locally. If you are the buyer and would like to fly in and pic it up and drive home I will pick you up at Omaha Epply Airfield. I DO NOT accept PAYPAL on this item. CASH or CERTIFIED FUNDS ONLY. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Radical 2016 Jeep Wrangler suggested by job listings?

Fri, 31 May 2013

With most inside the industry expecting the next-generation Jeep Wrangler to arrive for the 2016 model year, it makes sense that the automaker would be looking for some choice candidates to to fill program openings as the off-roader goes through its development. A recent ad on Chryslercareers.com suggests to some that the lightweight Wrangler Stitch Concept, revealed just two months ago and shown above, provides some clues about the off-road icon's next iteration.
According to Automotive News, the job descriptions - which don't name the model specifically - hint that the next-generation Wrangler will benefit from a serious diet. The ads appear to seek those familiar with advanced high-strength steels, hinting that lightweight aluminum body panels may appear on the 4x4. In addition, there are suggestions that Jeep may fit the Wrangler replacement with air suspension, as seen on the Ram and Grand Cherokee, to retain ample off-road clearance yet lower that chassis to improve aerodynamics at highway speeds. The job postings reportedly also lend credence to the idea of a diesel Wrangler.
It seems every bit of the next-generation Wrangler is up for review, as it will be the first time this iconic model is redesigned under Fiat ownership. Questions remain whether or not the Jeep will retain its clip-down hood, easy-to-remove door pins and folding front windshield - loyalists expect them, but fuel economy and safety standards may crimp their cases for survival.

WWII Jeep 'found in crate' set to cross Greenwich auction block

Thu, 30 May 2013

Fans of old military vehicles might want to pay extra close attention to the Greenwich Concours d'Elegance coming up this weekend. Crossing the Bonhams auction block on Sunday are a pair of seemingly flawless World War II Jeeps, which are both expected to fetch serious dollars.
Lot Number 305 at the auction is a 1945 Ford GPW Jeep that has been fully restored, which is expected to command between $35,000 and $45,000. Shortly after the Ford GPW, a potentially more interesting 1944 Willys MB (shown above) will be auctioned off, but Hemmings raises some red flags about this Jeep. First, it is claiming to have been "discovered in its original crate about 30 years ago," but there is no proof or documentation of any sort. Also, it is claiming to be all original, but it was given a paint job "shortly after it was discovered." Even with these questionable descriptions, this Willys could reach between $20,000 and $30,000. Head over to Bonhams' site and Hemmings for more information on both WW2-era Jeeps.
