when I decided I wanted a jeep, I have had 5 over the years, I looked local in columbus ga, I tried dozens out, they all had faults I could not live with, either they were 4 cyl or they were straight shift, or they had some condition problems, high milage, or the 4 wheel drive was noisy, I looked on ebay it was the same, I looked at dealers, I just was not going to settle for anything but what I wanted, finally I went to lagrange, ga. and I happened to see a row of jeeps out front of mike patton jeep dealer, so I stopped and looked at them, and the salesman walked out as I was about to leave, and I said dont you have any used jeeps, and he said yeah, one, I said where he said right on the front row, I said I didnt see any, he said yeah its right there, hell it looked as good as the new ones, if it was just a 6 cyl, automatic drive, it was, so I opened the doot and it looked just as good on the inside, it had 106,000 miles, so it was price, we agreed on 12,200. so I bought it, and never had a problem, they had some sort of 25 point plan where they go through it, and made it where I trusted there plan, and never have had one problem. the only thing is they had these off road type tires on it, so I bought all terain tires new, and it made the jeep drive like my wifes suv. it IS A VERY NICE DRIVING VEHICLE, the only thing is I had now 4 vehicles, I had a truck also. I have 10 acres, and there are storms, and ice, and I used a truck to haul fallen limbs, and trash and I buy lumber from time to time, I sold my truck, after a year I want a truck back, I just cant get along without one, so I need to sell my jeep it is just a necessity. it has caused a problem not having one. also I had an auto check when I bought it, and still have the copy I got from the dealer. it graded out 93, also any more info call me jim weaver 706 594 1794.the 4 wheel drive you can barely feel it go in, and no grounting noise, it is problem free, and perfect to me, I keep it garaged and it now has 107,000 miles. you just want find a problem

2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel and SRT climb onto stage
Mon, 14 Jan 2013This is indeed a case of not knowing how much we wanted something until it arrived. We've been big fans of the Jeep Grand Cherokee ever since the new model arrived a couple of years ago, and while the update you see here might seem just a slight refresh, it's actually much more than that.
For starters, the 2014 Grand Cherokee marks the return of a diesel model here in the States, with Chrysler's new 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 under the hood, churning out 240 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Of course, all of the Grand Cherokee's usual off-road goodies are on hand, with moderate tweaks to make it an even more capable vehicle when the going gets rough. Both the gasoline-fed 3.6-liter V6 and 5.7-liter V8 get the new eight-speed auto, as well.
The high-performance Grand Cherokee SRT also trudges on into the new model year, with very subtle tweaks found underneath the aggressive, slightly redesigned sheetmetal. The 6.4-liter Hemi V8 also gets eight-speed gearing, which Chrysler says will improve not only 0-60 times, but mid-range performance as well. Bring it on, we say.
Auto critic calls out Corvette, Mustang and Cherokee faithful
Mon, 26 Aug 2013Most automotive purists fear change, but not without reason. Change, after all, did kill big-block V8s, along with most station wagons and manual transmissions. But change has also brought with it far more performance, safety and fuel economy - not to mention ridding the world of shag carpet interiors, bias-ply tires and those horrible motorized seatbelts of the early '90s.
By this time next year, the Chevy Corvette, Jeep Cherokee and next-generation Ford Mustang will all be on sale and will all, in some way, have angered or offended purists. To those critics, Mark Phelan of the Detroit Free Press is preemptively telling them to stop complaining - at least until they've all been driven. From the Corvette's square taillights and the Cherokee's radical nose to whatever pony car purists will harp on the 2015 Mustang for, Phelan's column points out the positives of automotive evolution and the negatives of staying the course for too long. That's fair enough, but do you think Phelan is on point, or all wet? Head on over to the Detroit Free Press to read his words, then have your say in Comments.
Refreshed Chrysler 300 SRT won't be sold in NA
Mon, 20 Oct 2014It looks like it might be time to bid farewell to the V8 rumble from the Chrysler 300 SRT - at least if you live in North America. The reported change comes as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles reshuffles its ranks with the Dodge brand, re-absorbing SRT and building its muscular reputation with the Challenger and Charger Hellcat models. Meanwhile, Chrysler is taking a more mainstream approach, and that likely means the end of overt high-performance models from the division for now.
According to Automotive News, the 300 SRT will be discontinued in the US for 2015, but it won't be totally dead. Some right-hand drive markets will still get the brawny V8 sedan next year, a distinction that goes a long way toward explaining some spy shots we've seen recently.
The 300 SRT's North American demise probably shouldn't come as a total shock. In FCA's five-year plan, it says that the 300 is destined for a refresh to be unveiled later this year, presumably at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show. There's no mention of the SRT model in the document, though, which seems to signal its end.
