Fully built off someone's barbie jeep that never saw off road. 89 4BT Cummins Turbo diesel motor with a Holset HX35/40 hybrid that was built with a rare center output exhaust manifold in mind for high water stream crossings. New high output alternator, Optima Yellow Top Battery, power steering from an F100 dump body, hydroboost braking from a 2004 F350 Superduty (it'll easily lock up the 33" tires that are on it now), and newer commercial 8 Ribbed Belt with a tensioner system off a 5.9 6BT. Fluid damper crank pulley also on there. Front Mount intercooler and a full aluminum radiator. Calculated cat power of 233,642 (197 HP) and 500 lbs torque /font> NV4500 Transmission from a Dodge 3500 Dually truck - one of the strongest and best 5 speed manual transmissions to date. NP241OR RockTrac Transfercase off of a 2012 Jeep Rubicon - used a JB conversions cable shift system for the transfer case in order to allow for smooth shifting into 4WD. Never needed the 4WD low 4:1 because of the low gearing and the diesel motor. Bilstein 4" Suspension lift with short arm system 3" full 304 custom Stainless Exhaust from turbo back. Sinister Fab full steel front fenders and front shorty bumper Warn 9000 lbs winch with Viking safety thimble and high strength synthetic winch line Blue Torch Fab Rocker Guards 1" body lift to fit the transmission and driveline properly Jeep has 33" Tires on it now but will include 5 37" Tires as well as other equipment I have that was to finish the project. Fully lined interior that was done with speedliner with a kevlar mix.

LA-bound 2014 Jeep Wrangler special edition gives us the Willys for $25,795

Mon, 18 Nov 2013

The Jeep Wrangler might be the reigning king of special editions, but with sales records being broken almost all year, this plan is obviously resonating with buyers. Joining new models like the Dragon Edition and Polar Edition, the 2014 Jeep Wrangler is adding a new Willys Wheeler Edition to pay homage to Jeep's military heritage.
Getting ready for its big debut at the LA Auto Show, the 2014 Jeep Wrangler Willys Wheeler Edition is inspired by early Willys CJ (Civilian Jeep) models with exclusive styling and upgraded off-road goodies. Starting with a Wrangler Sport, these upgrades include a Dana 44 rear axle with limited-slip differential and 3.73 gears, along with meaty BF Goodrich KM Mud Terrain tires mounted to the Willys Wheeler's black 17-inch wheels. For more of a classic Jeep look, this model adds a gloss black grille, "Willys" hood stickers and rock rails to protect the side sills. Jeep is also tossing in a D-ring, tow strap and gloves that are all kept in a special carrying bag.
When it goes on sale early next year, the Wrangler Willys Wheeler Edition will start at $25,795 for the two-door model, while the four-door will start at $29,595. There's an official press release posted below, and we'll be sure to have live images of the special-edition Wrangler live from the LA Auto Show floor later this week, so stay close.

Why Mopar won't release a factory lift kit for the new Jeep Cherokee

Thu, 24 Apr 2014

The Jeep Cherokee Dakar concept showed off at the 2014 Easter Jeep Safari made a lot of online friends, even the Cherokee naysayers assenting that there's a monster Jeep underneath the Cherokee's skin if you're willing to go in and get it. But after reading Road & Track's write-up of what went into creating the Dakar, particularly its lift, you'll understand why you'll probably never see the components for it in the Jeep Performance Parts catalog.
The concept's press release mentions a "prototype Jeep Performance Parts lift kit, and additional suspension modifications." The short-story explanation is that the front struts on the standard Cherokee weren't engineered to accept any amount of lift, so the long story begins with the phrase, "an entirely new suspension." Head over to RT to read the details, and don't be afraid to ogle the Cherokee Dakar gallery and another awesome Jeep fancy that won't likely crawl over the hurdles imposed by production reality.

Refreshed Chrysler 300 SRT won't be sold in NA

Mon, 20 Oct 2014

It looks like it might be time to bid farewell to the V8 rumble from the Chrysler 300 SRT - at least if you live in North America. The reported change comes as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles reshuffles its ranks with the Dodge brand, re-absorbing SRT and building its muscular reputation with the Challenger and Charger Hellcat models. Meanwhile, Chrysler is taking a more mainstream approach, and that likely means the end of overt high-performance models from the division for now.
According to Automotive News, the 300 SRT will be discontinued in the US for 2015, but it won't be totally dead. Some right-hand drive markets will still get the brawny V8 sedan next year, a distinction that goes a long way toward explaining some spy shots we've seen recently.
The 300 SRT's North American demise probably shouldn't come as a total shock. In FCA's five-year plan, it says that the 300 is destined for a refresh to be unveiled later this year, presumably at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show. There's no mention of the SRT model in the document, though, which seems to signal its end.
