This is technically a 2 owner vehicle we bought it in 88 with 36 miles on it from dealer. it was sold in Canada but not delivered then sold to the dealer in FL. where we bought it. rebuilt it around 94 odo158,000. added 350 bored 40 over, also rebuilt, axles and trans..(front may need u joint work again) it has custom built one of a kind, front & rear bumpers(front bumper not mounted/not in pic) with tow ball and with spots for off-road lights and spot for winch. has  good rear seat delete rag top ,metal half doors w/glass window uppers,, has 2 inch body lift , light bar windshield frame for off-road lights (no lights) custom 3 or 4 core radiator (can't remember exactly)new in 07. have 2 rear bench seats for it  somewhere, might be able to find org carpets if I can find the trunk I put them in back in 1990  this is a great platform for a resto project or just put on the road with a little work. has been unused for last 8 years, I was just waiting for the around too it  to restore it  again but illness/mounting bills has insured that My around to it is never going to come .it is Not perfect, but it is 90% better than all the unrestored 88s that I have seen!  replaced clutch (uses stock Jeep clutch) and brake master a few years ago and a brake line or 2,  it hasn't seen any real use since then. Has  good street tires just to make it roll, will throw in used set of military double beadlock 36in tires and wheels but they will have to be recentered  with the proper bolt pattern and backspacing (see trail worthy fab.com for new centers) This jeep is worthy of a ground up restoration  and needs good home, it did do over 130mph when I last had it on road, it was a beast!!

Jeep Cherokee Trail Carver is a more rugged Trailhawk

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

We briefly mentioned the Jeep Cherokee Trail Carver that was heading to SEMA last week when discussing the Mopar lineup set to be shown in Las Vegas. At the time, though, we weren't able to dive too deeply into details. But with SEMA in full swing, we were able to sneak over and grab some snaps of one of the first modified Cherokees we've seen. The Cherokee is, after all, kind of an unknown quantity in the modification department, being so new and featuring such a polarizing design. We were quite interested to see what Mopar could come up with.
Starting with the Trailhawk 4x4 and its 3.2-liter V6, the engine is fitted with a Mopar cold-air intake and a new exhaust, although it's not clear what sort of power boost has resulted. We'll admit, we were hoping Jeep and Mopar would get a bit more aggressive with the Cherokee's suspension (has anyone thrown a few-inch lift on the new Jeep yet?), but there's no mention of upgrades beyond the knobby, off-road tires. Those should do some good when the going gets rough, while rock rails are there to protect the Auburn Pearl paint on the body.
Speaking of that paint, it's complemented by an interesting graphics package in contrasting black and Crush Orange. The cabin sports Katzkin Amaretto leather seats, along with tech-friendly items like a wireless charging system for cellphones and wireless internet.

Dirt Every Day tries to find the best 4x4 for under $4k

Mon, 25 Aug 2014

If you want to build a cheap truck that can still do dirty deeds off the beaten path, it's best to start with solid axles and a solid V8 engine. That sums up the lessons learned after watching the 2014 Cheap Truck Challenge from the Dirt Every Day video crew, who took to the deserts and surrounding areas near Reno, NV, in an attempt to find the best 4x4 for under $4,000. Fortunately for us, the whole sordid journey was captured on video.
This isn't the first time the boys from DED filmed a Cheap Truck Challenge, and this year's festivities pitted together a 1993 Chevy S10 pickup, a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee and a 1975 International truck in a series of challenges ranging from donuts to drag races, with plenty of hill-climbing and rock-crawling action in between. We don't want to spoil all the fun, but suffice it to say one competitor was found to be lacking while the other two performed (mostly) well. See for yourself in the video above.

Refreshed Chrysler 300 SRT won't be sold in NA

Mon, 20 Oct 2014

It looks like it might be time to bid farewell to the V8 rumble from the Chrysler 300 SRT - at least if you live in North America. The reported change comes as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles reshuffles its ranks with the Dodge brand, re-absorbing SRT and building its muscular reputation with the Challenger and Charger Hellcat models. Meanwhile, Chrysler is taking a more mainstream approach, and that likely means the end of overt high-performance models from the division for now.
According to Automotive News, the 300 SRT will be discontinued in the US for 2015, but it won't be totally dead. Some right-hand drive markets will still get the brawny V8 sedan next year, a distinction that goes a long way toward explaining some spy shots we've seen recently.
The 300 SRT's North American demise probably shouldn't come as a total shock. In FCA's five-year plan, it says that the 300 is destined for a refresh to be unveiled later this year, presumably at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show. There's no mention of the SRT model in the document, though, which seems to signal its end.
