1988 Jeep Wrangler YJ driven and off and on over the past 15 years. It sat unused for 5 years.I have been trying to restore it have done alot of work. It runs consistently well and was my everyday driver over the past year. BFGs only have a year on them, new slider windows, new cab soft top and frame. Lots of little things added over the last year. Fuel Pump and Filter is new as well as plugs cap wires et al. Mirrors and Windshield are new. This jeep would make a great vehicle for someone who loves to tinker with old cars that would like to finish it. It will be sold as is. 245K miles on the it, but rebuilt engine only has 40K, it was done in 2001. Interior needs work. No carpet, bare floor. Dashboard and upholstery on custom seats are sun-dried and have been running with covers on them. Speed/tachometer and cluster gauges all work but need to be calibrated. Pass. handle/ rear handles need to be replaced but work. No AC but heater works

Jeep rear-mounted fuel tank controversy
2014 Jeep Cherokee: June 2014
Wed, 09 Jul 2014I got a text message from Editor-In-Chief Sharon Carty one afternoon proclaiming that her new favorite SUV is our long-term 2014 Jeep Cherokee. And she's not alone. I'm not sure if anyone else on staff would go so far as to use the "favorite" descriptor, but after just over a month of honeymooning with our new long-termer, it's safe to say that the Jeep is quickly finding its way into the good graces of a number of Autoblog staffers.
There's good reason for all that praise, too. Thus far, the Jeep has proven itself to be incredibly competent and comfortable for daily life - it's functional, quiet, and packed with a host of amenities that make it easy to live with. It's been wholly trouble-free (with less than 4,000 miles on the clock as of this writing, it ought to be), but even nitpicks have been few and far between.
2015 Ford F-150 named Truck of Texas, Lincoln and Jeep also awarded at Truck Rodeo
Tue, 14 Oct 2014The Ford Motor Company has a lot of reasons to celebrate after winning eight categories in this year's Texas Auto Writers Association's annual Truck Rodeo. Most important among them, the Blue Oval's latest 2015 Ford F-150 earned the prestigious Truck of Texas award, ending the Ram 1500's two-year winning streak. The 2015 Lincoln MKC also grabbed the honor as the CUV of Texas, and Ford was named Truck Line of Texas.
FoMoCo even took trophies for best technology with its extensive use of aluminum on its latest F-Series and best commercial vehicle for the new Transit 250. It wasn't a total sweep, though, because the Jeep Grand Cherokee grabbed the title of the SUV of Texas for the fifth straight time.
This year's event put 60 auto writers in 75 pickups, SUVs and crossovers and challenged them to find the best in a plethora of categories. All of the winners are listed below, and scroll down to read the full announcements from the Texas Auto Writers Association and Ford.
