Clean and origional Jeep.  $7500 or best offer, all offers considered. feel free to call me at 248.890.2504.

The Jeep came with a RV as a package deal from an California estate. A retired couple from california bought and kept the Jeep and the RV in Arizona.  I do not need the Jeep. It is a amazing time capsule - despite some of the minor cosmetic flaws.  If it was a wrangler i would not be selling it.  The RV has 60k miles on it and they they towed the Jeep behind the RV.  I can estimate that 60k or so of the miles on the Jeep are actually tow behind miles so the drive train only has about 25-30k miles on it.

New parts...Sparkplugs, distributor cap, rotor, electronic pic up in distributor, spark plug wires, shocks front and rear, brake pads and brake shoes, fuel filter, air filter, oil and filter, belts, coolant flush, upper/lower rad hose, thermastat, pcv, and all chassis greased with full service.   When i left the truck last month the a/c was charged and working. hopefully it will be still working when i get back in town.  It starts right up, runs smooth and drives amazing. no slack in steering, no shakes or shimmys or vibrations at any speed or when braking. It drives tighter than my newer truck with 80k miles on it. The underside is in amazing condition. I wish i had taken photos of it. It has no rust anywhere, not on brake lines or fuel lines or at the body seams or anything.

I fly back in town on September 17th. I will add some pictures of the interior. It is in great shape and shows little wear for almost 30 years old. I simply forgot to take them before i had to go out of town.

I prefer cash when you pick up the Jeep.

I doubt anyone is willing to do this but for the buy it now price, i will drive it to you.  That would require bank to bank transfer of half the money before i leave - and the other half when i get there.  i dont really want to sell it internationally - but i will if you can wire your money to someone here in the states you know that can act as your agent, and this person can just pay me cash for it. .

Thanks, please ask any questions.

Jurassic Park made a big impact on these Jeep drivers

Thu, 12 Jun 2014

For a certain cohort of young folks, Jurassic Park is a touchstone film from their childhood. Not only did it play into practically every little boy's love of dinosaurs, the movie included some great action scenes and special effects that still hold up today. In its latest video, The Aficionauto takes a look the Jurassic Park Motor Pool, a California car club with over 40 fans who created replica vehicles from the iconic film.
The club is made up of an interesting cross-section of people. Many of them were Jeep Wrangler fans that already loved off-roading and Jurassic Park, and liked the idea of bringing them together. Like any close-knit club, it ends up being about community and people coming together to share their interests. It's quite a heartwarming video. Also, be sure to stay until the end because The Aficionauto teases a future Jurassic Park-themed vehicle. Scroll down to check out the motor pool.

2016 Jeep Wrangler to ditch solid axles to save weight?

Tue, 29 Oct 2013

Hey, Jeep fans. If you think the idea of a funky-looking, car-based Cherokee revival is offensive, have a listen to what might be in store for the next-gen Jeep Wrangler. Automotive News is reporting that as Jeep develops the 2016 Wrangler, weight reduction is a crucial target, and the Wrangler's rugged solid axles could be sacrificed in the name of better fuel economy.
We've already heard the next Wrangler will go on a serious diet using aluminum body panels and an air suspension system, so the idea of a four-wheel independent suspension setup for this OG SUV isn't all that surprising. Besides, it's not like an independent suspension would limit the Wrangler's off-road abilities - just check out the Hummer H1. In fact, it might be the aftermarket parts companies - not Wrangler enthusiasts - who would be most disappointed by such a drastic suspension change, as the article states that the Wrangler's solid axles and coil-link suspension make it the most popular SUV for customization.
There are probably still a couple years before we'll start hearing any concrete details about the 2016 Wrangler, at which time it will be interesting to see how stricter fuel economy and crash safety regulations have been balanced with traditional Wrangler cues like its removable doors and roof and folding windshield. Let us know in the comments below if a Wrangler sans solid axles is any less of a Wrangler.

2014 Jeep Cherokee: Introduction

Tue, 27 May 2014

When we look back at some of the more shocking product launches of recent yeras, the Jeep Cherokee is certainly high up on the list. And we aren't just talking about its off-the-wall, polarizing design.
For starters, it brought back the iconic Cherokee nameplate - something Jeep enthusiasts have coveted for ages. But beyond that, it brought a new evolution for the Jeep brand. After all, the Cherokee is car-based - using the same compact platform that underpins the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200. It has a greater focus on technology and refinement than ever before, in an effort to appeal to a new crop of Jeep customers. And powering it all is a new (optional) V6 engine paired with an equally new nine-speed automatic transmission.
Can the Cherokee's car-based roots still allow for a vehicle that's superb when the going gets tough? Will its design still be a love/hate affair in one year's time, or will it start to blend in? Is the powertrain strong enough to not only support the needs of daily driving and road trips, but blaze a few trails as well? We're aiming to answer all these questions, and more, over the next 12 months. Welcome to the Autoblog long-term garage, Cherokee.
