1991 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Base Sport Utility 4-door 5.9l ***no Reserve*** on 2040-cars

Year:1991 Mileage:114000 Color: paint
Location:

Rainbow Lake, New York, United States

This is a great project Jeep. The last year manufactured, 1991. We are selling at NO RESERVE . The highest bidder will be the new owner. Please do not bid unless you have the finances to complete the transaction!

The rarest color exterior paint. New front windshield this summer ( $425.00) and recent 2 rear Michelin tires. Obviously the rust needs attending to and a fresh 2 stage paint job. I drove the Grand Wagoneer on a 3 hour trip last week and it performed very well.  The engine and transmission performed very nicely on last weeks drive. The engine has 114,000 original miles on the odometer. I believe all electrics work well. It passed the NY State Vehicle Inspection.

The headliner needs replacing. The original radio has been removed. The skid plate that covers the gas tank is in good shape, possibly replaced recently, that I don't know. The rear tailgate window goes up and down but the track the glass sits in needs replacing as it now leans to one side when putting it back up.

ALL NEW:

Autoline carb ( rebuilt)

Autoline Distributor with rotor and distributor cap

Starter motor

New Alternator, not a rebuilt

Oil, filter and lube

Tires balanced

Windshield is new

Set of 4 heavy duty shocker absorbers

The photos tell the story. This Jeep is a diamond in the rough and with some TLC will be a treasure.

UPDATE: 10/5/2013. I just had a rebuilt Autoline carburetor installed and the Wagoneer runs smooth with nice acceleration.

I also ordered a new set of 4 Gabriel shock absorbers and am having them installed this week!

On Oct-19-13 at 14:43:06 PDT, seller added the following information:

I changed the bottom window track for the rear tailgate window this week . It now goes up and down straight, as operated from the dash switch. It was leaning to one side somewhat when raising it , prior to the repair.

Chrysler resolves recall issue with NHTSA, will inspect, upgrade affected Jeeps

Tue, 18 Jun 2013

Chrysler made big news earlier in the month by refusing a recall request from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for the 1993-2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2002-2007 Jeep Liberty. Last week, NHTSA boss David Strickland countered by defending his agency's request for the recall of 2.7 million Jeep SUVs. Today marked the deadline for Chrysler to formally respond to NHTSA, and it seems that both parties have met in the middle with Chrysler inspecting and upgrading some of the affected vehicles without using the word "recall," which would constitute the admission of a defect; instead, Chrysler said that it is conducting a "voluntary campaign."
At issue on these vehicles is the positioning of the fuel tank behind the rear axle that could get damaged during a rear-end collision. NHTSA has stated that at least 51 people have been killed in rear-end collisions involving these Jeeps after the vehicles caught fire, to which Chrysler countered by pointing out that both models "met and exceeded" the requirements for fuel-system integrity.
As a compromise on the situation, Chrysler says that it will inspect all pre-2004 Grand Cherokees and pre-2007 Liberty models and, "if necessary, provide an upgrade to the rear structure of the vehicle." According to Automotive News, this upgrade will consist of adding a trailer hitch that will presumably better protect the rear-mounted gas tank. Vehicles already equipped with a factory or Mopar hitch will not be modified. Chrysler's official statement on the matter is posted below, but no additional information has been released, such as when the campaign will begin and how many vehicles could be affected.

Watch this Jeep Willys return to its birthplace after 70 years

Sun, 23 Jun 2013

Earlier this month, a very significant Jeep was celebrated at the Toledo North Assembly plant. No, it wasn't the upcoming reincarnation of the Jeep Cherokee, but instead it was a 1943 Willys MB that visited the Toledo grounds where it had been built exactly 70 years ago to the day.
Of course, the actual building where the MBs rolled off the assembly line before heading to Europe for World War II no longer exists, but that didn't stop Italian owner Vittorio Argento from having the vehicle shipped to the US to make its trek back to its birth place. According to Chrysler, Argento's MB is still 95-percent original and it drove 1,000 miles from New Jersey to Toledo.
The whole adventure was chronicled on a blog aptly named A Jeep Comes Home. Scroll down for a brief video from Chrysler and for some photos of the Toledo visit and be sure to read more at Argento's blog.

2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4X4

Wed, 13 Feb 2013

Ice skates are spectacular on frozen water, yet they are dreadful everyday footwear. I consider the Jeep Wrangler equally as specialized.
I recently spent a week with a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4X4. Introduced for the 2007 model year, the Wrangler Unlimited is a standard JK two-door with 20.6 inches added to its wheelbase and two additional doors bolted to its passenger compartment. While Jeep offers the Unlimited in seven different trim levels, the desirable Rubicon is the most capable when the pavement ends, as it boasts a slew of hardcore off-road tools including front and rear electronic locking differentials and a front sway bar that can be disengaged at the touch of a button for improved articulation. My I-Look-Like-A-Traffic-Cone test model started with a base price of $34,095 (plus $995 destination). Options including a five-speed automatic transmission, Uconnect, tow package and a premium soft top, drove the bottom line up to $38,630.
