1981 Jeep Cj5 Renegade 6 Cylinder 4 Speed Original Paint Montana Blue on 2040-cars
Franktown, Colorado, United States
It has 118,000 miles, and engine was rebuilt approximately 1,000 miles ago, and has all the original functioning emission equipment. Jeep originally came from California, and here In colorado the rest of its life. Has the original rare color of Montana blue. No bondo- no new paint- no diamond plate to cover up anything. Just a nice solid jeep!!! Has 2 small rust bubbles areas on both sides of front lower fenders. Floors and body mounts really nice, and hard to find like this. Has the t-177 4 speed, and the great Dana 300 transfer case. Brand new bestop top, new heater core, and transfer case mount. Seats are also new.. No rear seat. Tires are big 31x10.50x15 mud terrain t/a. 3:54 gears, runs down the highway at 65-75 easy, no shakes, pulls or wobbles. The heater and defrost now work pretty good. Has a tow bar for front for very easy pulling...the only things not working is the 4wd light and high beam light on the dash. I may have knocked off a wire, as it was working. The stereo also is not hooked up. Great oil pressure on a manual gauge, as charging also works well. Has the patina look that some people are paying for that look now!!! I eventually wanted to reaping and re decal it, but the more I look at it, the more I like it left alone. A great driver, or second car, or just for the hills. Has power steering, with a rare tilt wheel and disc brakes. Lock out hubs. Look at some of the other jeeps, diamond plate, primer, or painted over the bondo. This is a rare dry jeep. Can even see the original primer coming through the rear and on the roll bar... I have a clear colorado title In my name and is also insured that way... On May-29-14 at 18:23:14 PDT, seller added the following information: There is a slight crease in the hood as shown, from the hood being opened to hit the windshield.. Seems like a common thing, forgot to mention that. |

Chrysler resolves recall issue with NHTSA, will inspect, upgrade affected Jeeps
Tue, 18 Jun 2013Chrysler made big news earlier in the month by refusing a recall request from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for the 1993-2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2002-2007 Jeep Liberty. Last week, NHTSA boss David Strickland countered by defending his agency's request for the recall of 2.7 million Jeep SUVs. Today marked the deadline for Chrysler to formally respond to NHTSA, and it seems that both parties have met in the middle with Chrysler inspecting and upgrading some of the affected vehicles without using the word "recall," which would constitute the admission of a defect; instead, Chrysler said that it is conducting a "voluntary campaign."
At issue on these vehicles is the positioning of the fuel tank behind the rear axle that could get damaged during a rear-end collision. NHTSA has stated that at least 51 people have been killed in rear-end collisions involving these Jeeps after the vehicles caught fire, to which Chrysler countered by pointing out that both models "met and exceeded" the requirements for fuel-system integrity.
As a compromise on the situation, Chrysler says that it will inspect all pre-2004 Grand Cherokees and pre-2007 Liberty models and, "if necessary, provide an upgrade to the rear structure of the vehicle." According to Automotive News, this upgrade will consist of adding a trailer hitch that will presumably better protect the rear-mounted gas tank. Vehicles already equipped with a factory or Mopar hitch will not be modified. Chrysler's official statement on the matter is posted below, but no additional information has been released, such as when the campaign will begin and how many vehicles could be affected.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recalls nearly 750k vehicles in two campaigns
Thu, 16 Oct 2014Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling a total of 747,817 vehicles in the US in two separate campaigns recently added to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration database.
The first one covers about 434,581 units of the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Challenger, Durango, and Jeep Grand Cherokee from the 2011-2014 model years with electric hydraulic power steering, the 3.6-liter V6 engine and a 160 amp alternator, according to FCA. In the affected vehicles, it's possible for the alternator to fail without warning and possibly cause the car to stall. According to the documentation submitted to NHTSA, the automaker began investigating the problem in August 2014 and has found possible evidence of one crash caused by the failures but no known injuries.
Customers will begin receiving notification about the recall next month, and obviously the repairs will be done at no cost to them.
