2003 Jeep Liberty Sport 3.7l 4wd on 2040-cars
Gainesville, Florida, United States
Selling AS IS a 2003 Jeep Liberty Sport Based on KBB criteria, I'd rate the Jeep as Good-Fair. Body: The paint is good and the body is in pretty good condition with only a few rust spots that I can find. There is one spot on the hood (see pic), some paint wear on the roof, and some more major rust around the rear upper tail light (see pic). The rear door is slightly warped from backing into my trailer tongue a few times and bumping the spare tire, but closes and locks securely. Engine: The engine runs well, but does have a small oil drip from time to time. This leak sometimes smokes when it hits the hot exhaust manifold. This may be the cause of a bigger problem, such as a leaking valve cover gasket, head gasket, or rear main seal and I want to make sure to disclose it. Within the 1.5 years, it has a new alternator, brakes, spark plugs, battery, and front driveshaft/bearings/boot. 4WD works great. Tires: New tires (Michelin X Radial LT2) were purchased at 152,797mi and have well over half their tread left; the spare needs to be replaced. Electronics: All lights and features work except the radio display (the radio/cassette/CD all work) The A/C runs very cold. Other than usual wear and tear and stains, the interior is in good condition as well. I have not had the interior detailed, so many of these might be removed. It also has an after-market tow hitch with 7/4 pin wiring. I can provide a CarFax report as well. I am the second owner and live in Florida and South Carolina. The car was bought used in Ft. Myers, FL. Local pickup only (will meet at nearby airports). I am cross-listing this jeep on Craigslist and may end the auction early if it sells. |

2014 Jeep Cherokee starting price set at $22,995*
Mon, 10 Jun 2013Love it or hate it, the 2014 Cherokee is on its way to a Jeep showroom near you this fall. Today, Chrysler announced the different trim levels, features and pricing for its new compact utility with a starting price of $22,995 (*not including $995 for destination), which is $400 less than the 2012 Liberty it ostensibly replaces.
Available in four trim levels - Sport, Latitude, Limited and Trailhawk - the new Cherokee will come standard with Chrysler's 2.4-liter Tigershark inline four-cylinder engine with the upper three levels offering the option of the company's 3.2-liter Pentastar V6. The base Sport is your typical entry-level model, featuring equipment including manual cloth seats and black exterior mirrors and door handles, but it also has a five-inch Uconnect media center, LED taillights and 10 standard airbags. Stepping up from the Sport model, Latitude and Limited trims bring increasing levels of luxury starting at $24,495 and $27,995, respectively. All three of these trims are front-wheel drive in standard configuration and offer varying versions of Jeep's Active Drive four-wheel-drive system.
The range-topping $29,495 Cherokee Trailhawk (shown above) comes standard with four-wheel drive and numerous upgrades to earn Jeep's Trail Rated fender badge. These changes include a unique design that adds an off-road suspension with taller ride height giving more aggressive approach and departure angles, underbody skid plates, distinguishing exterior design elements and a seven-inch, reconfigurable instrument gauge cluster similar to what it found in high-trim Dodge Dart models. Scroll down for a full breakdown of the 2014 Cherokee pricing and trim levels, and let us know what you think of the model's pricing and equipment in Comments.
2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Choose Your Own Adventure... But Choose Wisely
Jeep has got you covered. We can say this without even having to know what it is you want, because there's hardly an option or configuration that you won't find in the 2014 Grand Cherokee. There are three different engines, three different four-wheel-drive systems (plus rear-wheel drive), four different trim levels - not counting SRT - two different suspension setups and five different settings for various off-road terrain conditions. If you happen to check the box for Quadra-Lift, you'll also have five different ride-height settings for the driver-selectable air suspension.
As you might expect with so many customization possibilities, the way a buyer checks the options sheet can have a profound effect on the final product and its capabilities, to say nothing of its price. Nowhere is that more true than with the Grand Cherokee's choice of engines, with the brand-new 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 stealing the spotlight from the still excellent gasoline-fueled 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and 5.7-liter Hemi V8 powerplants that carry over from last year. No matter which engine you choose, though, it will be paired up with Jeep's new standard eight-speed automatic transmission from ZF. This, ladies and gentlemen, is very good news indeed.
GMC boss wants a Jeep Wrangler rival
Wed, 12 Nov 2014Challengers come and challengers go, but the Jeep Wrangler continues to push forward even after vehicles like the Toyota FJ Cruiser and the entire Hummer brand have been shut down. Now GMC reportedly wants to take a stab at the quintessential Jeep, as well.
The news comes directly from Buick-GMC vice president Duncan Aldred, speaking with our compatriots over at Edmunds. Although Aldred said there are no plans currently on the table to expand GMC's lineup beyond the current range, "there is plenty of room everywhere in the hierarchy."
That could include a rival to the Wrangler, as well as a flagship luxury SUV positioned above the current Yukon Denali (pictured above). Just when (or for that matter, if) such models might come into fruition remains a big question mark, but it's certainly interesting to see what GM's dedicated truck brand has on the drawing board.
