2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Sport Utility 4-door 4.7l on 2040-cars
Batavia, Illinois, United States
I'm hoping to sell this 2002 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE to a MECHANIC or CAR ENTHUSIAST who is good at fixing cars and appreciates the very low mileage on this OTHERWISE GREAT vehicle. I know that the power steering pump needs to be replaced, and more than likely the hydraulic-operated fan motor that accompanies the pump. I'm a single, divorced mom, or else I WOULD be keeping this vehicle and paying to have it fixed myself. I LOVE my Jeep, but I can't afford to have it fixed. ---The coolant leaks occasionally, too. Thermostat seal was replaced in December 2011. ---Recently received a safety recall notice in the mail from Chrysler (M35/NHTSA 12V-527): The airbag system Occupant Restraint Control may experience a front airbag and/or seatbelt pretensioner inadvertent deployment. Chrysler will repair your vehicle free of charge (parts and labor). I haven't had the repairs done myself simply because, again, the car is not drivable at this time. This recall paperwork will be included with the title to the Jeep, and it includes the VIN. ---Malfunction Indicator Light just went on while I've been starting the car in the garage; I'm assuming it's because of the issues with the fan motor, etc. The car hasn't been driven, so I don't know what else would suddenly cause this problem. It's never been in an accident, and it has 93,352 miles on it - great for a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I also added a remote automatic start to it for the cold Chicago winters. My ex and I bought it barely used from the dealership with 27,743 miles on it in December 2004 from Arlington Lexus in Palatine. I believe the original owner smoked inside the car - after a rainy or muggy day when we first bought the car you could detect a hint of cigarette smoke smell, but neither my ex nor I smoke, and no one else has smoked in the Jeep since we've owned it. Because the power-steering does not work, this vehicle is not drivable right now. It has been in my garage, out of the elements, and I last started it on Friday to read its current mileage. It can be backed straight out of the garage. So, a buyer would need access to a tow truck. I am a full-time mom, so I can be available most days for pick-up of the vehicle, title exchange, etc. Serious buyers only, please. I'm being upfront about this vehicle's condition, so I expect an equally honest buyer. Kelley Blue Book Trade in Value of this vehicle at its current mileage with all options ranges from $4201 (trade-in value) to $5731 (sold to private party) at FAIR CONDITION (defined as follows - and I bolded the ones that I think apply; the interior of the car is in excellent condition, and except for a few expected dents, so is the exterior): Fair- 18% of all cars we valueHas some cosmetic defects that require repairing and/or replacing

Millionth Jeep Wrangler JK to roll off line this morning
Fri, 17 May 2013According to a report on the Chrysler Communications Facebook page and one fairly grainy image of the production line, at around 11:00AM Eastern this morning, the one-millionth Jeep Wrangler JK will roll out of the company's Toledo assembly plant.
The third-generation or "JK" Jeep Wrangler has been around since the 2007 model year, and has obviously been more popular than ever. With a greater than ever number of trim levels, two-door and four-door Unlimited models and hardy off-roading Rubicon packages, the JK offers more to choose from than ever for those looking for something in a traditional Jeep. In fact, with the modern 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 powering it, the 2012 model year saw more than 140k Wrangers sold here in the US; the best-ever figure for the model.
With a model refresh due out for the Wrangler in 2015 (along with the likely addition of a diesel engine option), we expect that sales will continue to roll right along, too.
Jeep Renegade gets Riptide and Frostbite customs at SEMA
Wed, 05 Nov 2014The cute little Jeep Renegade isn't even on sale yet, but here at SEMA, the Mopar folks are giving us a taste of what's possible for the little CUV in the big wide world of customization. Part of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' massive SEMA spread, the Renegade shows up in fresh Riptide and and Frostbite guises.
First up, the Riptide arrives in Vibrance Grandeur Blue with black wheels and a big ol' Jeep Performance Parts logo on the rear pillar. There are a few black accents elsewhere on the exterior, and a surfboard carrier rides up on the roof. The blue color scheme also finds its way inside the Renegade, on the instrument cluster and side panels, with contrasting white accents.
By contrast, the Frostbite Renegade reverses the Riptide's color scheme, with white being the main paint of choice, with blue accents abound. And inside, Katzkin seats wear blue upholstery. The Frostbite is a pretty functional creation, as well, with a Mopar ski/snowboard roof rack and a Jeep Performance Parts rock rail guard.
Chrysler's Jefferson North plant builds 5-millionth SUV [w/video]
Thu, 15 Aug 2013Chrysler's Jefferson North Assembly Plant opened in 1992 for production of the first Jeep Grand Cherokee, but in the subsequent years, the Detroit plant has gone on to produce some of the company's biggest SUVs including the Jeep Commander and Dodge Durango. Earlier this week, the plant produced its five-millionth SUV, which, fittingly, was a Grand Cherokee.
Celebrating the plant's five-millionth unit, the silver 2014 Grand Cherokee was promptly donated to the USO. In addition to this milestone SUV, Chrysler also had a near-perfect 1993-95 ZJ Grand Cherokee on hand for the photo op. Scroll down for the Chrysler press release as well as a video showing some of the speeches from the celebration.
