See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.Seller Notes:"The Jeep's body is in fair condition it was hit on the passengers side at the bottom of the rear door there is a picture that will show this damage. It does need to be painted due to the clear coat is pealing off. On the rear bumper the paint is cracked there will be a picture of that also, but other than the items I have listed the body is in good condition. The motor needs some work because it has over 230,000 miles on it but it doesn't leak oil or water so it probably just needs to have a major tune up. It is 4 wheel drive and that does work properly. The transmission does need to have some work done to it also its not slipping but it is slow to change gear. The interior is in fair condition, the seats are in good condition but the center console needs to be replaced and the drivers seat has been replaced with a leather seat because on the original seat the back broke so we found one from a junk yard and replaced it. The head liner is coming down so that will need to be redone."

This 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Sport Utility 4-Door 4.0L  is a 4-wheel drive and is fair running condition. It has 232,973 miles and will need a major tune up but I believe that if that is done it will run for another 100,000 miles. I have described in the Condition Description what is wrong with the Jeep and I have also copied that info and pasted it below. I will not lie to you it does need a lot of work but because it is made by Chrysler and they are still making their Jeep products the same way that General Motors made them, because GM made the Jeep to last and so does Chrysler.  The Jeep doesn't have any leaks in the oil, transmission or water which means that the motor shouldn't have any damage internally, and with a little work it could last for another 100,000 miles or more.

Jeep Grand Cherokee in headliner fire probe

Fri, 23 Aug 2013

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is launching an investigation into 146,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs from the 2012 model year, The Detroit News reports. This comes as the result of the government safety agency receiving three complaints from owners who cited fires inside the Jeep's cabin.
According to the report, NHTSA says:
"The customers reported a burning odor and visible smoke coming from the headliner while the vehicle was being driven. This was followed by flames from the headliner itself. Customers lowered the windows in an effort to clear the smoke but this increased the fire's intensity. All three vehicles had to be extinguished with a fire extinguisher or by the fire department as they continued to burn after the vehicle was turned off."

Chrysler's Woodward Dream Cruise festivities include Ram concept truck debut

Tue, 13 Aug 2013

The streets will be crowded next weekend along Woodward Avenue in Royal Oak, Michigan for the 19th Annual Woodward Dream Cruise. As part of the run-up to the festivities, Chrysler has announced that all of its brands - Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Fiat, SRT and Mopar - will bring along their latest vehicles. Also included will be a collection of classic American cars and various activities for attendees at the official Chrysler location on the corner of Woodward and 13 Mile Road.
Special to this year, Ram brand director Bob Hegbloom and head of design John Dehner will unveil a Ram concept truck on Saturday. Chrysler will also bring Ryan Friedlinghaus of West Coast Customs fame along to show off a few custom Chrysler-made vehicles of his own. Fans of the brand on Facebook will get the chance to virtually customize a vehicle from the automaker's portfolio, with the winner getting their dream car built for them by Chrysler. Pretty cool stuff, no?
As in past years, Ford and General Motors will have an official presence at the event as well, and you can expect to see plenty of cars of all makes and models from all parts of the globe. The madness starts this Friday, August 16, from 4:30 PM to 10 PM, with the main event taking place on Saturday, from 9 AM to 9 PM. For more details on the show, including events and their times, check out the press release below.

Jeep shows off Moab Easter Safari concepts crawling the red rocks

Thu, 28 Mar 2013

While most brands are busy showing off in New York, Jeep headed out to Moab for the Easter Jeep Safari with the company's fleet of 2013 concepts. This year saw the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk II, Wrangler Mopar Recon, Wrangler Stitch, Wrangler Sand Trooper II, Wrangler Flattop and Wrangler Slim Concepts tackle the rocks and sand, and Jeep was kind enough to bring along a camera crew to film the machines rolling over a few obstacles. The result is the video below, though don't expect to see too much hardcore off road action.
Instead, the quick clip features more than a few interviews with Jeep executives, including Jeep Head of Product Design Mark Allen, explaining what makes the Easter Jeep Safari so important. You can check out the quick clip below for yourself, and be sure to thumb through our galleries of the concepts as well.
