This is a jaw-dropping, head-turning 1982 Jeep CJ 5 that recently completed a frame-up restoration.  This Jeep looks brand new both inside and outside.  It is a beautiful teal green color with black interior.

I purchased this Jeep a few years ago as a project, and put a lot of blood sweat and tears into this Gem. It has largely sat in my garage except for the occasional Saturday joy ride.  Unfortunately, I work a lot and I don't think this Jeep is going to be used like it deserves to be.  I can tell you that it gets ALOT of attention when I take it out.

This CJ 5 is powered by a 360 v8 TBI, followed by a T18 transmission and a Dana 20 transfer case. To put all that awesome horsepower to the ground, it has a Dana 30 front axle and an AMC 20 rear axle. To give it the stance I was looking for, I had a 4 inch skyjacker lift installed along with a 1 inch body lift. To fill all extra wheel gap, It has a new set of 35/12.5/15 Goodyear Wrangler M/T tires. Also I Rhino lined for easy clean up. Since I have owned it the Jeep iv changed the brake pads and rotors, spark plugs and wires, rear main seal, valve covers and gaskets, oil pan gaskets, steering box, alternator, and front and rear drive shafts and U-Joints. All modifications were professionally installed. If you have any questions I will be happy to answer them or find an answer or take more pics for you.

Buyer is responsible for shipping and a $1000 deposit is due within 48 hours of listing end.  The remainder of the balance is due within two weeks and the Jeep and title will be released upon full payment.

Thanks for viewing!

Total auto recalls already on record pace in 2014

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

If you've noticed that there have been more recalls than usual this year, you may be on to something. According to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the US market is on pace to break a record for recalls. In 2013, 22 million cars were recalled. We're only a third of the way through 2014, though, and we've already halved that figure, with 11 million units recalled. That's wild.
Considering the past few months, it shouldn't be a surprise that General Motors is leading the charge, with six million of the 11 million units recalled coming from one of the General's four brands. Between truck recalls, CUV recalls and the ignition switch recall, 2014 hasn't been a great year for GM.
Other recall leaders include Nissan (one million Sentra and Altima sedans), Honda (900,000 Odyssey minivans), Toyota (over one million units in a few recalls), Volkswagen (150,000 Passat sedans), Chrysler (644,000 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs) and most recently, Ford (434,000 units, the bulk of which were early Ford Escape CUVs). So while it's been a bad year for GM so far, its competitors aren't doing too well, either.

LA-bound 2014 Jeep Wrangler special edition gives us the Willys for $25,795

Mon, 18 Nov 2013

The Jeep Wrangler might be the reigning king of special editions, but with sales records being broken almost all year, this plan is obviously resonating with buyers. Joining new models like the Dragon Edition and Polar Edition, the 2014 Jeep Wrangler is adding a new Willys Wheeler Edition to pay homage to Jeep's military heritage.
Getting ready for its big debut at the LA Auto Show, the 2014 Jeep Wrangler Willys Wheeler Edition is inspired by early Willys CJ (Civilian Jeep) models with exclusive styling and upgraded off-road goodies. Starting with a Wrangler Sport, these upgrades include a Dana 44 rear axle with limited-slip differential and 3.73 gears, along with meaty BF Goodrich KM Mud Terrain tires mounted to the Willys Wheeler's black 17-inch wheels. For more of a classic Jeep look, this model adds a gloss black grille, "Willys" hood stickers and rock rails to protect the side sills. Jeep is also tossing in a D-ring, tow strap and gloves that are all kept in a special carrying bag.
When it goes on sale early next year, the Wrangler Willys Wheeler Edition will start at $25,795 for the two-door model, while the four-door will start at $29,595. There's an official press release posted below, and we'll be sure to have live images of the special-edition Wrangler live from the LA Auto Show floor later this week, so stay close.

Chrysler uses Super Bowl spots to honor troops, farmers

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

How do you follow up such revered and successful ads as Chrysler's last two Super Bowl commercials? Imported from Detroit and Halftime in America should be given credit for giving the automaker's public perception a complete overhaul after its rescue from the brink with taxpayer money. What next, then?
We just found out during Super Bowl XLVII. This year Chrysler went with two commercials, one for Jeep and the other Ram. The two-minute-long Jeep commercial, called Whole Again, is narrated by Oprah Winfrey and presented as an open letter to the service men and women of America, simply expressing admiration for what they do - poignant message coming from a company whose history is so entwined with that of the military's.
The Ram commercial, called Farmer, honors the agricultural backbone of this country. Its soundtrack is a speech entitled "So God Made a Farmer" given by the famous radio broadcaster Paul Harvey, which plays over a slideshow of original photography commissioned by Ram. The images, of course, focus on farming and the people who do it for a living, and there's a few Ram trucks in there, as well.
