I truly do hate to sell my first baby, but with the second "real" baby on the way I'm told that some things have to change. I love this jeep and have owned it for over 20 years. Needless to say we have been through a lot together. I don't think its lifted but I did put new 33 inch Mickey Thompson tires on it with no problems turning or rubbing over any bumps. It has a very aggressive stance which I like and is why I didn't want to put a lift kit on it. The tires are about 18 months old and have less than 500 miles on them. I really just use the jeep in the summer cruising to the store, bye the beach or around town (not many places to find mud in Chicago) but it has always been very reliable.  I have only done very 'minor" off-roading with it. Im sure a real mudder would call what I have done just puddle running. It has never been stuck or anything like that. I bought it from an elderly couple who used it to hunt morel mushrooms in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I believe it had milage in the high 30,000 or low 40,000 when I bought it from them. I was drawn to the jeep for many reasons, it was in great shape, low milage and, of course, the last year they made the CJ which has always been my favorite model(I went through 3 of them before I found this beauty).

The jeep sat at my parents for several years while I finished up some school including graduate school. When I finally got to a point in my life where I could go get it and "enjoy" it again it started right up, couldn't believe just charged the battery and put in some gas, after like 7 years and she started right up. It has always been a great jeep.
It still has the original steel body that has had some work done and will need some more at some point, I included the bad spots. But all in all the body is solid and it is a good steady driver, a very strong runner and just a great jeep.
This jeep would be ideal for someone kinda like me I guess. Its a good runner, looks great (I think) and its fun to work on a little here and there. I mean its not currently going to do serious rock crawling, and its not like the thing is in the garage every weekend.
It is reliable and in "good" shape but could be "great" shape if someone had the desire to make it so. Even if not it would be a fun and dependable vehicle for some lucky person. Not to mention with the very low original miles it could catch the eye of a collector or someone who wanted to have it restored. Anyways thats not what im into jeeping for so good luck bidding!!   The Jeep really has to go with the second baby on the way so make me a REASONABLE!!!  Offer and hopefully we can work something out. Don't waste your time thinking I need gas or bread money and will sell it for $1000 or something silly. I love the thing and will put it in storage if I have too. Good luck!!!

Jeep team takes a field trip to Wagonmaster; researching next Grand Wagoneer?

Fri, 01 Feb 2013

They have the very best intentions of rolling out a seven-passenger vehicle.
Wagonmaster has made a name for itself restoring and selling factory-perfect Jeep Grand Wagoneer models, bridging the gap between when the last production machine rolled off the line in 1991 and present day. The company's efforts haven't gone unnoticed. The entire Jeep product planning team took a little field trip to the company's facility in Kerrville, Texas back in December, and they weren't just there to take in the sights. According to owner Leon Miller's son, Chip Miller, the Jeep team was there to do research for the successor to the Grand Wagoneer throne.

Jeep Cherokee finally dealer-bound

Tue, 22 Oct 2013

We had our First Drive of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee last month, but it appears that prospective buyers won't have too much longer to finally get time behind the wheel of the new small Jeep.
Automotive News is reporting that after a two-month delay, Jeep dealers will finally start receiving their first shipments of the new Cherokee, in the next 10 days. A Chrysler spokesperson confirmed to Autoblog that the Cherokee is indeed on its way to Jeep dealers.
According to AN, about 23,000 Cherokees have been built since production commenced back in June, but potential powertrain issues forced Jeep to make adjustments to the Cherokee along the way. Automotive News says that in order to make sure there are no issues with the Cherokee before it reaches customers, it is testing each vehicle after it rolls off the assembly line at a rented test track near the vehicle's Toledo North Assembly Plant.

Jeep hiring 1,000 part-time workers in Toledo on Wrangler, Cherokee demand

Wed, 12 Mar 2014

The new Jeep Cherokee has been quite a success for Chrysler, but its factory workers are getting tired. The automaker has agreed to hire up to 1,000 part-time, temporary employees at its Toledo Assembly Complex where the CUV and Wrangler are built. It will allow the company to keep Jeep production moving, while giving laborers a break.
According to plant manager Chuck Padden in the Toledo Blade, full-time workers are regularly taking on 60 hours a week, and it's beginning to wear on them. "To get them more time off is important to us, to make sure they're refreshed, and can work safely," said Padden.
Chrysler has already hired 380 temporary, part-time workers for the plant, and 50 have been converted to full-time employees. The company is in the process of interviewing the rest of the new hires now and plans to have all 1,000 in place by the summer. They will work between 10 and 30 hours a week mostly on weekends for $15.78 per hour with limited benefits. The temporary positions will last "as long as demand continues for the Jeep Wrangler and the Jeep Cherokee," said Jodi Tinson, Chrysler spokesperson for manufacturing and labor communications, to Autoblog in an email.
