1985 Jeep Cj7 W/ Rebuilt 305 Chevy And Turbo 350 Automatic on 2040-cars
Rockwall, Texas, United States
When I was looking for a nice CJ - I spent MONTHS searching and drove 100's of miles to see nothing but rust / bondo / oil leaks and vehicles that couldn't stay on the road if it was lined with rails. I purchased this 1985 CJ 7 about a year ago from an individual who had just converted it over to a V-8 Chevy / Auto transmission - all rebuilt items. It was about 95% complete, upon my purchase I immediately took it to a friend of mines Hot Rod shop where he went thru it completely and buttoned up all the "loose ends". He replaced a few gaskets, added a new steering box, flywheel cover, repaired wiring, blinkers, etc. I wanted this Jeep to be safe and road ready for anyone to drive it. Included in this Jeep is a Rebuilt Chevy 305 with a Turbo 350 automatic transmission. Twin stick transfer case that allows Hi / Low in 4wd / 2wd front / 2wd rear. 6" lift. 35" BFG's. Full size spare on swing-out mount. Full soft top with no rips / tears and a new bikini top. Has 2 sets of doors - one soft and another 1/2 steel that I fabricated this past winter. Edelbrock 4 barrel carb, intake, valve covers and chrome headers. All new dual exhaust that has an awesome sound. Runs straight and tight at 75 mph down the highway. Rhino lined tub with full carpet. Heater core installed and has heat AND defrost - Very rare to get this in a Chevy V-8 conversion. Body is rust free and straight. After purchasing, I added all new suspension, steering box, suspension bushings, seat covers, fuel system filter, radio, 4 speakers, front windshield and custom built Stinger front bumper. Speedo doesn't work correctly with the oversize tires, so I added an iPhone mount to the dash and use a GPS app - works perfect. Odometer shows 120K, but I've driven it less than 2,000 since purchase / rebuild. Selling because I now want to get a new Rubicon 4 door, vehicle is available to see in person by appointment in Rockwall Texas - just East of the DFW metroplex off of Interstate 30. I've included as many pictures as I could add - THERE WILL BE NO UNFORSEEN SURPRISES IF YOU DECIDE TO PURCHASE OR REVIEW THIS JEEP! It is as nice in person ans it looks in pictures - guaranteed! Thank you for looking - ask any questions - bid with confidence |

2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Choose Your Own Adventure... But Choose Wisely
Jeep has got you covered. We can say this without even having to know what it is you want, because there's hardly an option or configuration that you won't find in the 2014 Grand Cherokee. There are three different engines, three different four-wheel-drive systems (plus rear-wheel drive), four different trim levels - not counting SRT - two different suspension setups and five different settings for various off-road terrain conditions. If you happen to check the box for Quadra-Lift, you'll also have five different ride-height settings for the driver-selectable air suspension.
As you might expect with so many customization possibilities, the way a buyer checks the options sheet can have a profound effect on the final product and its capabilities, to say nothing of its price. Nowhere is that more true than with the Grand Cherokee's choice of engines, with the brand-new 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 stealing the spotlight from the still excellent gasoline-fueled 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and 5.7-liter Hemi V8 powerplants that carry over from last year. No matter which engine you choose, though, it will be paired up with Jeep's new standard eight-speed automatic transmission from ZF. This, ladies and gentlemen, is very good news indeed.
2014 Jeep Cherokee facing production delay
Fri, 17 May 2013Jeep's bold-faced new direction spearheaded by the 2014 Cherokee is facing some teething issues. According to a report by the Detroit Free Press, production start-up of the controversial new utility vehicle at its Toledo North facility is running about a month behind schedule "due to a wide range of issues." That's according to Mark Chernoby, senior vice president of engineering at Chrysler.
Chernoby maintains that the issues being encountered aren't unusual for the launch of a new vehicle - particularly one with a new powertrain - and he downplayed the delay, telling Jeep dealers that they "will have ample inventory of the midsize SUV by fall." Among the kinks being worked out? Calibrating the Cherokee's cutting-edge ZF nine-speed automatic transmission and refining assembly line tasks to make the process more efficient.
Chrysler expects to start building retail-ready versions of the Cherokee around mid-June, with official sales slated to start in September.
These cars are headed to the Great Crusher In The Sky
Fri, 24 Aug 2012It happens every year. We bid adieu to some cars and trucks that will be missed, and say good riddance to others wondering how they stayed around so long. Whether they're being killed off for slow sales or due to a new product coming along to replace them, the list of vehicles being discontinued after 2012 is surprisingly long and diverse.
CNN Money has compiled a list of departing vehicles, to which we've added a few more of our own. In the slow sales column, cars like the Lexus HS 250h, Mercedes-Benz R-Class and the full Maybach lineup appear, while the Ford Escape Hybrid, Mazda CX-7 and Hyundai Veracruz are all having their gaps filled with more modern and more fuel-efficient alternatives. Obvious exceptions to the rule include models that still sell in decent numbers like the Jeep Liberty and the Chrysler Town & Country (which will eventually be replaced by a crossover-like vehicle).
