This is a 1980 cj7 that needs total restoration done. It has a 304 ci amc motor with four speed. The motor is strong no knocks or ticks but it does not hold a prime after sitting. This is not the original motor. I bought this jeep to repair myself but will not beable to get it done due to medical problems. The jeep has been moved a couple of times to mow under it and it was driven onto the trailer when I bought it. You will need to trailer it to get home. The clutch needs replaced or adjusted I have not looked at it at all. It is hard to get into gear. The transfer case is good. The tires are cracked on the sides. I have an extra hood,front grill and the original gas tank. There is wheel flares ,soft top and metal side panels in the back of jeep. The plastic in the soft top is ripped and no poles. The front of the frame looks good but the back half is bad and needs repaired. Selling as is for parts or restore. If you have any questions message me.

2014 Jeep Cherokee facing production delay
Fri, 17 May 2013Jeep's bold-faced new direction spearheaded by the 2014 Cherokee is facing some teething issues. According to a report by the Detroit Free Press, production start-up of the controversial new utility vehicle at its Toledo North facility is running about a month behind schedule "due to a wide range of issues." That's according to Mark Chernoby, senior vice president of engineering at Chrysler.
Chernoby maintains that the issues being encountered aren't unusual for the launch of a new vehicle - particularly one with a new powertrain - and he downplayed the delay, telling Jeep dealers that they "will have ample inventory of the midsize SUV by fall." Among the kinks being worked out? Calibrating the Cherokee's cutting-edge ZF nine-speed automatic transmission and refining assembly line tasks to make the process more efficient.
Chrysler expects to start building retail-ready versions of the Cherokee around mid-June, with official sales slated to start in September.
Jeep leads list of 25 most patriotic brands
Thu, 04 Jul 2013It's not unusual to feel extra patriotic this time of year, what with the Fourth of July being today and all. As if to celebrate, New York-based research firm Brand Keys conducted a study among 4,500 consumers about what brands they find to be the most patriotic. According to the Detroit Free Press, Jeep took top honors in this study, besting other American stalwart brands including Coca-Cola, Levi's and Hershey's.
Interestingly, the only other automotive brand to make the list was Ford, in the 16th spot (motorcycle fans take note - Harley-Davidson claimed the No. 13 slot). This means consumers found Jeep to be more patriotic than any of the brands in the General Motors portfolio, including Chevrolet, which has long used American themes in its advertising over the decades.
According to Brand Keys, Jeep came in "with a score of 98 out of 100 on a scale representing consumers' emotional engagement expectations," the Detroit Free Press reports. Be sure to read the report to scan the entire Top 25 list for yourself.
NHTSA closes investigation into Jeep Liberty fires
Sun, 16 Mar 2014The investigation that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened into the Jeep Liberty in October 2013 has been closed. NHTSA received two (!) complaints about fires starting in the driver's door, thought to be caused by the master power window switch. The initial estimate was that 80,000 Libertys could be roped into a possible recall, but according to a report in the Detroit News the agency examined records for 425,000 Chrysler products that used the same window switch, including the Dodge Nitro and Chrysler Town & Country minivan.
After canvassing 265 warranty claims related to the master switches, NHTSA concluded that the rate of fires compared to the "large population of vehicles" was rather low, and that there was no trend pattern behind the few issues it did find. Perhaps with that, and the closure of the trailer hitch investigation, the Liberty can finally rest in peace.
