Up for auction is a very nice 1977 Jeep CJ7, with the (believed to be) original 304 Cubic inch V8 and an automatic transmission. The color is actually a black cherry. It was sanded and buffed when painted, and looks very nice. Its was restored to its current condition five years ago in Wrens, Georgia. Both the motor and transmission were rebuilt at that time as well. The Jeep starts, runs, drives and stops very well. It tracks nicely and brakes straight. As shown, headers lead into side pipes. It sounds very nice. There is a patch in the front floor board on each side. There is no rust on the Jeep anywhere. It comes with two sets of doors. Please call Dell with more information at (706) 564-5064. This is his Jeep. If you'd like other pictures of anything specific, please email me. Thanks

Some of the pictures are showing up "super small" in the ad instead of normal sized. I just tried to go in and delete the small ones and replace them with the same pictures from a different file, so they will show up normally. After calling eBay "live help" it was determined that I can't add or delete what's currently in the ad. If you want anything specific, or want to see the smaller pictures in larger form, please email me and I will send them to you. This Jeep is a blast to drive (I have driven it) and turns heads every time it is on the road. It's garage kept and not beat on or off-roaded. Thanks...

Jeep gives Cherokee its yin and yang with Sageland and Urbane concepts
Sat, 19 Apr 2014Among the design concepts Jeep has prepared for Beijing Motor Show this year are a pair of Cherokees dressed up in contrasting schemes.
In one corner we have the Sageland concept pictured above, drawing its inspiration from Shangri-La with an Ivory Peal tri-coat and bronze trim for the grille, fascia appliqués, roof rack, sunroof, mirror caps and exhaust tips. Inside it's all earth tones with light gray Nappa leather seats and red and blue top-stitching inspired by traditional Chinese themes.
Meanwhile the Urbane concept (pictured right) takes the Cherokee in a different direction with steel blue metallic paintjob and black accents. Inside it adopts the theme of Chinese calligraphy with Piano Black accepts and dark red Nappa leather.
NHTSA closes investigation into Jeep Liberty fires
Sun, 16 Mar 2014The investigation that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened into the Jeep Liberty in October 2013 has been closed. NHTSA received two (!) complaints about fires starting in the driver's door, thought to be caused by the master power window switch. The initial estimate was that 80,000 Libertys could be roped into a possible recall, but according to a report in the Detroit News the agency examined records for 425,000 Chrysler products that used the same window switch, including the Dodge Nitro and Chrysler Town & Country minivan.
After canvassing 265 warranty claims related to the master switches, NHTSA concluded that the rate of fires compared to the "large population of vehicles" was rather low, and that there was no trend pattern behind the few issues it did find. Perhaps with that, and the closure of the trailer hitch investigation, the Liberty can finally rest in peace.
Why Mopar won't release a factory lift kit for the new Jeep Cherokee
Thu, 24 Apr 2014The Jeep Cherokee Dakar concept showed off at the 2014 Easter Jeep Safari made a lot of online friends, even the Cherokee naysayers assenting that there's a monster Jeep underneath the Cherokee's skin if you're willing to go in and get it. But after reading Road & Track's write-up of what went into creating the Dakar, particularly its lift, you'll understand why you'll probably never see the components for it in the Jeep Performance Parts catalog.
The concept's press release mentions a "prototype Jeep Performance Parts lift kit, and additional suspension modifications." The short-story explanation is that the front struts on the standard Cherokee weren't engineered to accept any amount of lift, so the long story begins with the phrase, "an entirely new suspension." Head over to RT to read the details, and don't be afraid to ogle the Cherokee Dakar gallery and another awesome Jeep fancy that won't likely crawl over the hurdles imposed by production reality.
