This is a 1977 CJ-7 Jeep.  I have a clean title and am the sole owner of this Georgia / Virginia vehicle, that is now in California.  Started a ground up restoration 14-years ago.  However, my priorities have changed since then (wife, house, three kids - you get the idea...), thus its time to let her go (the Jeep that is).  The vehicle has never sat outside - 100% garaged since start of restoration.  If you are not mechanically inclined, or don't have restoration/customization experience, then this is NOT the vehicle for you!

I have personally sandblasted and worked on every inch of this vehicle, replaced the minimal rust spots, smoothed primed and painted the frame with high-gloss black Imron paint.  It shines!  All the frame seams have been smoothed with seam sealer – this part is show ready!

The body is solid, no rust.  Undercoated and various panels replaced.  There is some filler on the cowl and engine bay that should be replaced (not my best work here).  Also, it appears that some rust has bled through the seams on the front passenger side of body (ugh, see photos).  I would rework these areas, otherwise, very smooth.  The defroster, heater, top holes, door holes have all been filled for a smoother look.

Dana 20 rear with 3.54 gears.  Completely rebuilt and has axle truss.  New one piece rear axles with four wheel disc brake conversion kit from SSBC.  Stainless steel brake lines, Rancho 9000 shocks.  Looks brand new!

It has a Sky Jacker 4” lift kit with new poly body mounts.  Heavy duty shackles. All rubber components replaced with red poly.

Warn front and rear bumpers, with one Mickey Thompson Baja II wheel with a BFG A/T 33 x 12.50 spare on Warn oversized tire carrier. Currently sits on old restoration tires.

Custom diamond plate dash with battery cut off switch (no key ignition), all Auto Meter electronic gauges, new speedo.  It has a Flaming River tilt wheel column, new steering shaft and Grant Steering wheel. Heavy Duty AGR steering box and bracing.  New steering linkage, steering stabalizer, etc.

Iron Horse high back bucket seats with racing harnesses, new bikini top, carpet, and role bar padding, center console. Most every bolt on the vehicle is stainless steel.  Diamond plate gas and brake pedals, as well as trans tunnel cover. KC Lights, and new stainless side view mirrors, and backup lights.

Fiberglass one piece front end that tilts forward – this is an amazing feature. Custom diamond plate trim pieces, fiberglass windshield frame and new windshield (not installed).  All new exterior trim / lights, etc.

Front is a fully rebuilt Dana 30 with all new front disc brakes, stainless steel brake line extensions and new warn hubs..  Again, every piece of metal has been replaced or sandblasted, primed and painted with the same high-gloss black Imron paint.  Also has matching front axle truss.

Set up for Ford 302 motor with custom radiator bracing with high-flow aluminum Quick Flow radiator.  Hella horns, electric dual fans.   Has high flow fuel pump, new gas lines, etc.

This vehicle, while far along still has a ways to go.  It needs an Engine, Transmission, transfer case, wiring harness and four wheels and tires and minor body work and paint to make it a real head turner.

I will entertain serious offers only.  You will need to arrange transport from my home.  The vehicle obviously does not run and therefore will cost more when transporting by professional hauler.   I have hundreds of hours of labor and well over $25K into this vehicle.  Its time someone finishes the job.

Chrysler readying 20 Moparized vehicles for SEMA

Tue, 08 Oct 2013

The Las Vegas Convention Center has plenty of space for aftermarket companies and automakers to show off their wares, and it looks like Chrysler is taking advantage of the spacious floor plan. At next month's SEMA Show, Chrysler will have a full 20 cars from its six brands decked out with Mopar gear.
As a hint of what is to come, Chrysler released a handful of teaser sketches showing glimpses of modified Jeep Cherokee, Ram 1500, Fiat 500L and Chrysler 300 concept vehicles. The automaker will also use the venue to show off a new line of Jeep Performance Parts offered by the all-new Mopar Off-Road Division. In addition to the images, Chrysler also issued a brief press release - posted below - breaking down some of the "industry-first features" that Mopar has offered in recent years.

Gilles defends 2014 Jeep Cherokee design as "very contemporary"

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Following the forced-hand introduction of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, there has definitely been a mix of responses revolving around everything from its design to the return of the legendary nameplate. As evidence of this, just check out the 1,000+ comments in our article last week and some of the many opinions that were voiced. Following this not-too-warm reception, Ward's Auto had a chance to talk to Chrysler designer chief - and SRT president - Ralph Gilles, who shed a little more light on the styling direction of the new Cherokee.
Rather than looking to previous models for inspiration, Gilles says that the Cherokee has been designed to be more contemporary, with Mark Allen, head of Jeep design, adding that a main goal was to make sure the design still looks modern five years from now. Interestingly, Gilles does point out that one of the design elements incorporated on the new Cherokee that pays homage to past Jeeps is the sharply downward angle for the leading edge of the beltline, which he notes is meant to mimic the look of the old YJ and TJ Wrangler models fitted with half doors. Of course, the squared-off wheel openings - a signature Jeep cue - are still used.
This is probably a design that will need to be seen on the street in actual daylight to properly assess, but in the meantime, we'll bring you full images and impressions when the Cherokee debuts at next month's New York Auto Show.

This American Life spends a week selling Jeeps in Long Island

Thu, 19 Dec 2013

So you think you know car dealers? Well, maybe you do, but This American Life spent a month at Town and Country Jeep Chrysler Doge Ram in Long Island to give us a behind-the-scenes look (or listen, since it's a radio program) at what it's like to be a car dealer.
Yes, there's a lot of swearing in thick New York accents, frustration, confusion, and generally it's a madhouse at the dealership. But that's understandable when the sales staff has to sell 129 vehicles in October in order to get an $85,000 manufacturer bonus - with several other Jeep dealerships within a 10-mile radius.
The episode, 129 Cars, is worth a listen, but make sure you have 71 minutes to spare if you want to get through it in one sitting. Head here for the unedited version or here for the bleeped version (which is 58 minutes long).
