1974 Jeep CJ-5 304 V8
This is an early model CJ-5 in great condition! If you're looking for a vintage CJ that's been well taken care of and hasn't been abused by off-road use or unneeded modifications, then look no further! Much time and effort has been given to installing only the upgrades which improve performance and handling. Thousands of dollars kept in receipts! Jeep is ready for final touches to finish the restoration. Original style and power fitted with modern upgrades to improve safety and comfort 304 cubic-inch V8 packaged with an Edelbrock four-barrel carb = incredible horsepower! New items throughout! New items include: 32 x 11.50 BFG All terrains Bestop softtop and doors Bumpers, fender flares (not on pictures) Greaseable, heavy-duty shackles (factory size) with urethane bushings Rubber body mount kit Stainless steel shock-absorbing steering shaft (Flaming River) Stainless, tiltable column (greatly improves ease of entering vehicle), also Flaming River Grant steering wheel Brakes all around- SSBC drum to disc conversion in front, drum and shoe replacement in back Clutch, transmission seals, and clutch linkage kit 2.5’’ suspension lift Seats & seatbeats Coated header wraps Battery, ignition, distributor, plugs & wires Additional info: The engine runs great and it starts right up! There was a top-end rebuild on the engine less than 500 miles ago! This job included the installation of new lifters, rods, and a slightly oversized camshaft. Other features include an Edelbrock 4-barrel, 600cfm carburetor and Headman headers. As with almost all CJ's this age, the driver & passenger floorboards were starting to rust when I bought it. I have gone through the process of treating any hint of rust. It was a three stage treatment with POR-15 products. After the rust was removed by wire brush, I applied a metal treatment (chemically removes all remaining rust), a POR-15 hardner, & a black POR-15 top coat. Again, this was only the front floorboards. The rest of bed was original paint with no flaking rust. The undercarriage, bed, and floorboards were then rolled with Herculiner for protection and cleaning ease. The original metal body is very solid. It is very hard to find an early model CJ in this condition. To the best of my knowledge, most major components of Jeep (engine, transmission, transfer cases and axles) are also all original. There is a small amount of cracking paint in various areas. This is where one layer of paint was applied over another layer. There is no fiberglass on vehicle. Any questions are encouraged to be asked prior to end of auction. |

2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Wed, 23 Oct 2013Jeep appears to have nailed it this time. After two decades of assembling its Grand Cherokee sport utility vehicle, the American automaker has finally delivered a world-class off-roader capable of taking on everything in its segment - and more - with a high likelihood of coming out on top.
And if you drove last year's model, it's time to climb behind the wheel again as Jeep has significantly updated the SUV for 2014 with a bold new exterior appearance, an upgraded interior with enhanced electronics and a new transmission that completely transforms the way it drives.
We recently spent a full week with a dark blue 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4x4, a well-optioned model fitted with the standard gasoline-fed V6. While it didn't have the punch of the range-topping V8-powered SRT8, or the fuel-sipping economy of its new EcoDiesel sibling, the high-volume variant left us quite impressed.
2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT
Mon, 25 Feb 2013Jeep's Super 'Ute Is Fun Thrown In The Face Of Conventional Wisdom
Let's talk asses for a moment. What do they have to do with the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, you ask?
Well, we're here to tell you that this SRT can haul some. Lots of them, as a matter of fact: Jeep has increased the towing capacity of its most powerful SUV to 7,200 pounds. Assuming the average donkey weighs about 400 pounds, the Grand Cherokee SRT can haul ass to the tune of 18 burros, give or take a covered trailer or so, which is significantly more than it could in previous years. In 2013, the machine could manage 5,000 pounds, while the first generation was rated at just 3,500. The increase is mostly attributable to a new eight-speed automatic transmission and beefier rear axle, and it's a welcome update for those who'd like to use their SUV as, well, an SUV with an emphasis on utility.
Chrysler recalling nearly 141k vehicles over electrical woes
Wed, 02 Oct 2013Software glitches that randomly illuminate warning lights and cause instrument cluster blackouts are forcing Chrysler to recall 140,800 vehicles, The Detroit News reports. The automaker is recalling 132,000 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokees, 91,559 of which are in the US. In addition to the Jeep recalls, Chrysler is adding 10,800 2014 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 trucks to the list for similar problems.
Chrysler reportedly says, "Both events occurred infrequently and appeared to resolve themselves by tuning the vehicle's ignition off and then on."
Engineers discovered a problem with the anti-lock-braking system software that causes the instrument cluster display of the Grand Cherokee to illuminate warning lights and black out - even its ABS and electronic stability control systems are affected. To fix the Jeeps, Chrysler will update the vehicle's software.
