2001 Jaguar Xkr Convertible Supercharged Xk8 on 2040-cars
Upland, California, United States
This Jaguar XKR is ready for summer. It has a Regent Gray exterior, which is a beautiful dark blueish gray (and very rare) The interior is Oatmeal. It runs and drives great, looks fantastic, and it's a two-owner southern California car. They don’t make them
like this anymore, and the XKR’s are soon to be classics. Prices for these models have already started
to climb.
The AC blows cold, and the suspension is very tight with no creaks or cracks or clunks or thunks when you hit a bump. The power convertible top is in very good condition, it goes up and down without a hitch. With the top up it is a luxurious driving experience. With the top down, it’s an absolute joy. No leaks. Very good condition overall with under 93,000 miles. The front bumper cover has been repainted due to pitting. It looks great. There were a couple of other scrapes and scratches in the paint that have been corrected, and the body is very straight. The seats have been recolored on the faces, and they look very good. This is an excellent Jag. The timing chain tensioners have been updated, so you won't have to worry about them failing, or incurring a large repair bill to replace them. The engine has many, many miles left to go. There are no leaks or other concerns with the drivetrain. A boot for the convertible top is included, but I forgot to put it on when I took pictures. I will try to add some later. Payment: If you want to take the car immediately, I require cash or wire transfer. If you want to wait for it to clear, I will take a cashier's check. The bank can hold a cashier's check for up to 10 business days. A $500 deposit is required within 48 hours after the end of the auction. You can use paypal. California residents must add 8% Sales Tax to the final purchase amount.

40th Jaguar E-Type ever made sells at auction for lb88k
Wed, 30 Oct 2013The 40th Jaguar E-Type ever built, a right-hand-drive 1961 model, hit the auction block and was bought by an anonymous British buyer for 88,000 pounds ($141,310), ITV reports. The Jaguar had been stored at the previous owner's estate, in dry storage, at a derelict farm in Le Mans, France since July 1974.
E-Type chassis No. 860040 was bought by the previous owner in 1969 and was originally gray. But it was driven home to France and painted it in its current aubergine in 1974, before it was put into storage. During that time it was considered missing by experts, but there it sat under a dust sheet car cover for most of its life, so the body is in good condition. The family mechanic said that the car was last started about five years ago, and the engine recently was turned over. Coys auction house describes the original interior, which is also preserved well, as a "time warp."
Chris Routledge of Coys before the auction said, "They're sort of a mythical beast for enthusiast, at the time they were all handmade on special order, so Jaguar collectors look at the first 100 cars in a different way," BBC News reports. He added, "We estimate it to be worth between 20,000 and 40,000 pounds (about $32,100 to $64,200) but our feedback from collectors and interest worldwide suggests it could sell for between 80,000 and 100,000 pounds (about $128,500 to $160,600)." Of course, his revised estimate was right on target.
Jaguar Land Rover opens winter testing facility in Minnesota
Wed, 12 Dec 2012As it begins the rollout of the all-wheel-drive Jaguar XJ and XF models, Jaguar Land Rover has just announced that it has opened a new facility in northern Minnesota for winter testing. Located in International Falls, MN (on the US and Canadian border), the British automaker says it is one of the coldest locations in the Continental US. Jaguar's new Instinctive All Wheel Drive system was developed primarily to help sell more cars in the northern US, so it only makes sense to open a testing area in the US as well.
With temperatures that can drop to minus 55 degrees Fahrenheit, International Falls was chosen to mimic some of the worst weather a Jaguar or Land Rover will ever see. The grounds house testing chambers, various road surfaces and even a frozen lake. This new facility complements the hot-weather testing grounds in Phoenix, AZ.
The official press release is posted below.
Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
