Up for sale is my black Jaguar XJS V12 Convertible. I inherited this vehicle and while it is very cool, it is not really my style. I am more of a hot rod guy and feel that someone else could appreciate this car more than me. I have only had the car a few months but it runs and drives great! The only thing I have done since I received it is wash and wax it.
The exterior paint is black and it looks good but has a few blemishes. There are a few golf ball or smaller size dents in the side that seem to disappear when you get to about ten feet back. There is no rust to speak of and appears to have lived in California it's whole life. All lights work and the electric convertible top and windows work great. The tires in the rear don't look so good, the car could definitely use a new set of tires for sure. Also, the wheels have some pitting and there is one that is mismatched, it does have a full size spare. The top is in great shape and looks like it could be a new top but am not certain. The drivetrain seems to be in great shape, just driving it around town, it is a very smooth ride. It's very easy to drive, the transmission shifts well and the motor sounds great. I'll try to get a video posted shortly. The interior could use some work, there are some cracks in the drivers seat leather and the fake wood on the dash is cracked in some paces. The electronics inside work well for the most part. The seat controls work, the top works, the windows work. Type radio is skiing for a code but I don't have it. I've been told that the dealership could solve this for me but never got that far. Over all, this car is beautiful and fun to drive! 40th Jaguar E-Type ever made sells at auction for lb88k
Wed, 30 Oct 2013The 40th Jaguar E-Type ever built, a right-hand-drive 1961 model, hit the auction block and was bought by an anonymous British buyer for 88,000 pounds ($141,310), ITV reports. The Jaguar had been stored at the previous owner's estate, in dry storage, at a derelict farm in Le Mans, France since July 1974.
E-Type chassis No. 860040 was bought by the previous owner in 1969 and was originally gray. But it was driven home to France and painted it in its current aubergine in 1974, before it was put into storage. During that time it was considered missing by experts, but there it sat under a dust sheet car cover for most of its life, so the body is in good condition. The family mechanic said that the car was last started about five years ago, and the engine recently was turned over. Coys auction house describes the original interior, which is also preserved well, as a "time warp."
Chris Routledge of Coys before the auction said, "They're sort of a mythical beast for enthusiast, at the time they were all handmade on special order, so Jaguar collectors look at the first 100 cars in a different way," BBC News reports. He added, "We estimate it to be worth between 20,000 and 40,000 pounds (about $32,100 to $64,200) but our feedback from collectors and interest worldwide suggests it could sell for between 80,000 and 100,000 pounds (about $128,500 to $160,600)." Of course, his revised estimate was right on target.

Jaguar Land Rover says key models in short supply, some have six-month wait lists
Fri, 08 Aug 2014Care for a bit more proof that the Jaguar Land Rover portfolio of vehicles is the best it's ever been? Well, the Indian-owned pair of brands saw a record year in 2013, while 2014 has seen a 14-percent increase in sales. The crazy thing is, though, is that figure could be even higher, provided the company had the production capacity.
JLR is running a six-month waiting list on two of its most popular models, the Range Rover Sport (above) and Range Rover. According to Mark White, the company's chief technologist for body engineering, the blame can be placed on the paint shop at the company's Solihull factory, in the UK.
"We will probably max out the paint shop before we max out the body shop. Putting the second body shop in has given us the flexibility to ebb and flow the different models that go through there and meet the capacity demands we've got," White told Automotive News. "However, you always hit a bottleneck somewhere. And the paint shop is probably going to be the next biggest obstacle."
