I can assure you that this was the sharpest 1998 to 2003 Body Style XJ8,s out there... I have been a professional auto mechanic all my life and this was one of my personal toys that was affected in Sandy,s Path... However although im my garage was 2 to 2 1/2 feet of water there is NOT ONE DROP OF WATER IN THE ENGINE OIL.. OK here goes... For those of you that know or don't know ill tell you The 4.0 motor in this vehicle was FORDS Cluster F--- has had all the upgrades... Starting with the dreaded timing chain tensioners that are prone to disaster on this engine and they were done by me before they ever gave me a problem all upgraded steel secondarys ... Nakisil problems ?????? NONE HERE not a puff of blowby... Thermostat Housing is Aluminum..... Body Upgrades includes Bigger Stainless Steel Exaust Tips that cost me around 200 each at the time... 20 x 8.5 Inch Concept One Wheels and Dunlop Signature tires 245 35 20 that are perfect and have less then 300 miles on them.. HID Headlights everywhere except high beams.... Upgraded Mesh Grill .. Chrome Mirrors.. Drilled and Slotted rotors all around with really no miles on them ceramic pads... Chrome rocker panel covers... Euro Chrome wiper arm ... And I'm sure im forgetting alot... I also have extra coils for the car ....That being said my loss is your gain... There is however holes drilled into the gas tank from the trunk as the gas needed to be drained.... This car has not run since the storm so its being sold AS IS WHERE IS AND WITH NO GUARANTEES OF ANYTHING WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET......This is a no reserve auction and i set the opening bid at what i think the wheels and tires are worth alone..... Jaguar F-Type squares off against Porsche 911, Aston V8 Vantage with Chris Harris
Fri, 21 Jun 2013Chris Harris is back on the job, taking on really really difficult car questions like: Which enormously sexy and good-to-drive, high-performance convertible is the top of the heap? As one of the hottest cars in the luxury space right now, the Jaguar F-Type S is, of course, in on the action. Competition comes in the form of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster and the Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet. Sun-loving CEOs who despise test-driving need look no further.
Scroll on below for a fully featured (with a running time of more than 20 minutes) comparison video. Harris does his best to entertain - in a typically nitpicky and made-up-British-words fashion - and the moving pictures are lovely to look at. Kick back, pour a pint and get your weekend started off right.
Jaguar XJ220 hooned remotely by a kid
Sat, 31 Aug 2013The Tax the Rich crew has a knack for indulging in automotive fantasies and capturing it all on video, such as a tug-of-war battle between two Ferrari F50s, drifting a Ferrari Enzo on gravel roads and even powersliding a Rolls-Royce Phantom on a field of wet grass. This latest video features a Jaguar XJ220 and a kid with an iPad, who somehow is able to control the old supercar with the Apple product.
No, there's no app for that (yet), and we lied - the boy isn't actually controlling the car - but it sure is nice to see the XJ220 in all its turbocharged, six-cylinder glory doing donuts and sliding across a grassy field. It jolts us to see the old Jaguar - capable of 217 miles per hour and once described by Jeremy Clarkson as having no brakes and massive turbo lag - thrown about like a rally car, but then we never imagined anybody would abuse a Rolls-Royce like that either. We'll continue to leave the high-stakes antics to Tax the Rich - we're just glad somebody had the guts to behave so badly in such a valuable machine. What else were they made for?
Be sure to check out the video below, if you have a pulse.
Leno and Ian Callum pilot Jaguar XK120 at 2014 Mille Miglia
Mon, 02 Jun 2014Jay Leno has been in a British mood recently with his videos highlighting the McLaren P1, 1962 Norton 650SS and Steve McQueen's 1956 Jaguar XKSS. He's keeping the streak alive this week with a look at driving a Jaguar XK120 in the 2014 Mille Miglia historic rally with Jaguar Design Director Ian Callum.
The video show off Jay Leno's Garage in top form. It's way more than just Jay driving the 1,000-mile route from Brescia, Italy, to Rome and back. He also includes interviews with Stirling Moss about winning the race back in 1955, and racer Martin Brundle about what it's like to drive a long-nose Jaguar D-Type this year.
Today, the Mille Miglia is only for historic cars, and it has a much more relaxed pace than the original all-out event. However, this isn't entirely a cruise. Leno seems scared at times talking about it because the drivers are free to ignore the speed limits and open the cars up as much as they are willing to. The roads aren't shut down for regular traffic, either, and things can be dangerous.
