Relisting my Jaguar xj6 1997 with approx 180465 miles on her. I have owned her for 2 1/2 years with little problems.

She runs and drives with clear title.

I have done the following work to her:

New rear shocks
Pinion Seal replaced new differential oil
New front passenger wheel bearing
Front brake calipers replaced at start of last year/New pads all round
Front shocks replaced last year
Aftermarket stereo with correct adapter and faceplate (have original stereo if required also)
Tires have 20000 miles on them

The car does need interior work (please see description below for details). The power steering pump has started whining on me, the valve cover is leaking and the usual Jaguar issues are present with this car such as the driver's side door cable is snapped. The headliner sags and the ABS/TC lights up on the dash. The clearcoat has peeled on the hood and boot. This does not affect driving her and still drive her daily.

I did hit a deer Dec 2010 causing front end damage. I replaced all the parts with genuine Jag parts (hood, lights, radiator, grill). This is not recorded and the car has been driven for 2 years (approx 40K miles) with no problems.

This is an honest car. I would like to keep her but a newer car with tax refund is on the cards.

Any questions please email me for more details. I will let her go for $1500 cash in hand or $1620 with paypal fees (if this makes anyone more comfortable).

I have relisted this car on other ads and reserve the right to remove if I receive a sale.

Thanks for looking. Have a nice day

40+ cars that barely avoid the gas guzzler tax

Thu, 24 Jul 2014

The Gas Guzzler schedule, with mpg ratings and charges that haven't changed since 1991, lays out which fuel-swillers owe what to Uncle Sam.
I started thinking about the "Gas Guzzler Tax" - considerably less well known as The Energy Tax Act of 1978 - when I was driving Dodge's new Challenger SRT Hellcat last week. Unsurprisingly for a car that can burn 1.5 gallons of gas per minute at max tilt, theoretically able to empty a full tank of premium in about 13 minutes, the Hellcat will be subject to the Gas Guzzler Tax schedule when it goes on sale.

Jaguar's Callum refutes two XJ bodystyle rumor

Wed, 01 May 2013

Not long ago, we relayed word from Edmunds that Jaguar was planning to split its next-generation XJ sedan into two bodystyles - one model that continued the ambitious design approach fostered with the current X351-based model, and another, more upright model to better appeal to China's conservative design sensibilities.
We expressed some cynicism in the idea, noting that such a strategy "might catch more profits for the marque, but it might also represent a setback to design head Ian Callum's vision for a thoroughly modern Jaguar portfolio." Callum has been quite insistent in his belief that Jag needs to be a forward-thinking brand in terms of design, and the two-model strategy seemed to conflict with that idea. We tried to get some comment from Callum at that time, but were unable to reach him.
As it turns out, our cynicism was well-placed. Autocar says that while the next XJ will continue to have two wheelbases, Callum has denied the two-model talk, saying flatly: "I can't see us doing two bodystyles. The cost would be enormous and the message inconsistent. You have to believe in what you produce and to do two bodystyles would undermine that."

Weekly Recap: The divergent paths of Tesla and Fisker

Sat, 02 Aug 2014

There's no doubt that Tesla is downshifting while Fisker has been grinding its gears. But it wasn't always that way.
In the wake of Tesla's recent success, it's easy to forget that there were once two California electric carmakers with bright futures.
