 Here's my 1992 Jaguar XJ6 Sovereign.

Only 89,405 original miles, Tungsten over Isis Blue leather, 4.0 liter 6 cylinder. I bought the car last year from an elderly lady in Sherman Oaks, the car was always maintained garaged and taken care of.

Passes smog and tags are good until June 2014. Clean title in my name.

Everything works on the car except the clock light. AC, Heat, cruise control, power windows, mirrors, locks, trip computer, factory stock radio and power antenna, power seats, automatic seat belts, all the courtesy lights, everything works. Has original books.

I am a mechanic, I know these cars in and out, and I spent several weekends going through the car and fixing all the little broken things, there are NO WARNING LIGHTS on the dash, no check engine light, not even the bulb failure light! That is rare to find working in one of these Jaguars.

Some recent maintenance-

New tires
New alignment
New Bilstein shocks front and rear (already has dealer rear level ride delete)
New coolant
New thermostat
New PS fluid
New oil change
New brake fluid
New spark plugs and throttle body service
Tune up
Replaced several underhood hoses
Replaced hose in fuel tank
New gas gauge sender
New antenna weather grommet
Replaced rear exterior bulbs
Leather treated with Hyde Food
New trunk lid shocks

The trunk lid has been repainted, and there are some scratches and some overspray on the passenger front fender, and the passenger rear door. Otherwise the body is excellent, zero rust, and the paint takes a beautiful shine.

I don't need this big car for my new long commute, and want to sell to a good home who will appreciate the car's condition and take care of it. I looked for months for an XJ40 Jaguar in this condition and then spent time and money getting it near perfect. The car needs nothing, and is a daily driver.

Take advantage of this, these Jaguars are excellent cars and are built over-engineered, the car is safe, reliable, turns heads and is extremely comfortable. AC blows cold and the car gets 18MPG city and 23MPG highway, as it was originally designed to.

Jaguar Land Rover and Chery investing in Chinese plant

Sat, 24 Nov 2012

While the European auto market for Jaguar and Land Rover is waning, Chinese car buyers can't get enough of the British marques. To meet that demand, Tata Motors, parent company of Jag and Land Rover, is partnering with Chinese automaker Chery Automobile Co.
The two announced plans to invest $1.75 billion to build a new plant and create a new, China-focused brand. 2014 is the target for completion of the factory. Jaguars and Land Rovers built at the facility will be the first ever produced outside the UK according to the Associated Press. The JV will be called Chery Jaguar Land Rover Automotive Company Ltd.
The announcement comes less than a month after JLR announced it would open a design studio in China. It's not clear from the reports whether the two announcements are part of the same JV or two separate plans.

2014 Jaguar XFR-S super sedan is 550-HP worth of cool

Wed, 28 Nov 2012

The 2014 Jaguar XFR-S was considered last year, teased last week and now has been totally let loose. The most powerful sedan the company has ever made and the newest addition to its line of R-S performance cars - following the XKR-S - and we'll be getting even fewer of them than we thought. 200 had been the rumored allotment for the US, but the official word now is that we'll see just 100.
Each XFR-S will use the same 5.0-liter supercharged V8 that powers the XKR-S, meaning a 40-horsepower and 41-pound-foot bump over the XFR for 550 hp and 502 lb-ft in total. Shifting through the adaptive, eight-speed ZF transmission gets it from standstill to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds, but for all that, it gets the same gas mileage as the XFR, aided by its stop/start system, and so doesn't get hit with a gas guzzler tax.
Other XKR-S bits have made the jump, including an upgraded suspension front and rear, the near-straight pipes for the cracking exhaust note we drank up like ambrosia and twenty-inch, six-spoke lightweight wheels that are an inch wider than on the XFR. Lateral stiffness is up 30 percent, the electronic systems have been recalibrated to handle the extra oomph, throttle response has been sharpened and can be made even sharper by going into Dynamic Mode.

Say goodbye to Jaguar's vestigial oval grille

Tue, 10 Dec 2013

Jaguar has been on a campaign to replace any and all retro cues with modern ones. Just look at the current XJ and the one it replaced, or the XF and the S-Type that came before it and you'll know what we mean. The one remnant is the XK and its oval grille, in and of itself a throwback to Jags of old (which started to look more like a certain Star Wars alien in above-pictured XKR-S form). But don't expect it to hang around.
Newer Jaguars have been ditching the oval aperture for a more squared-off one, and the next XK will have to fall in line. But don't expect that to be the only change in store for the next-generation Jaguar coupe and convertible.
With the new F-Type now holding the more enthusiast-oriented ground, the next XK is expected to grow bigger, softer and more luxurious. That will likely mean a more commodious back seat as well, though that shouldn't be hard to do considering the lack of space in the back of the current model...
